UPDATE: I am updating my review because one employee of Richmond Geeks took the time to get in touch with me and try to rectify the situation. Thank you Jairo, the business looks better because of you!! Better Buisiness Bureau claim number: 10119572. I turned my Samsung Galaxy S4 cell phone into Richmond Geeks for cracked screen repair. I was told my phone would be repaired and ready by 7PM. I called at 6:30PM to see if it was ready and was told that it was set to be picked up. I arrived at 6:45PM and was asked to wait for 20 minutes because it was not ready. I received my phone back, upon inspection it looked like the repair was done correctly. The next morning I received a call and I could not hear the caller well because the volume of the call was very poor. I inspected the phone to see what the issue could be and noticed that the screen had small yellow areas on it, as well as some small scratches and crack on the side of the case. I went out of town that day and could not take the phone back in to be checked, but I did call Richmond Geeks to report the problem. For the next four days the volume problem continued and the screen steadily grew more yellow until it completely blacked out and I could not use the device. I took it back to Richmond Geeks and they took the phone in the back to look at it. At this point I stated that all I wanted was a refund of the 142.00 dollar repair charge. I waited 30 minutes while they looked at my phone, while waiting another employee asked what the problem was and I explained the situation, again stating that I did not want them to do anything to the device, and that I just wanted a refund. He told me that they would have to try to fix it, and that must have created the new problem by dropping or damaging the phone. The phone was never harmed in any way during the four day period after it was repaired. The tech that was working on the device brought the phone out and showed me a crack on the inside of the device as well as cracks on the outer portion of the case. I again told him I only wanted a refund and that I did not want them to work on my phone anymore. He took the phone back again for an additional 20 minutes, when he brought it out he told me that the problem was caused by damage I had done. I again assured him that the phone was not damaged in any way after the repair. I took my phone directly to a Verizon Wireless store, told the technicians what had happened and she inspected my phone. She stated that it was her opinion that the crack and screen damage were cause by the Richmond Geeks who attempted to fix the phone. I am active duty military so I am always on call, I had to buy a new phone so that I could be reached. Richmond Geeks cost me the original $142.00 for repair, plus the $250.00 charge for the new phone. This is highly unsatisfactory. I will never take another device to Richmond Geeks and will recommend that my family, friends, and colleagues not use their service.

I took my iPhone here to have the front screen replaced because I had cracked it. They first told me it would be an hour and they would call me when it was ready. After an hour and 45 minutes they finally called. When I picked it up everything looked great, but when I got home I noticed that the proximity sensor (that cuts the screen off when youre talking on the phone) was not working. Called and they said to bring it back and they would fix it. The next day I took it back and they said they would have to replace the screen again and it would be 30-40 minutes. After an hour and 20 minutes it was finally ready. Got in the car and noticed that my screen had these weird bars all the way across it. Took it back and they said another 45 minutes, another screen. After ANOTHER hour and a half it was finally ready. As hes handing it to me, he checks the proximity sensor and its not working again, and he had forgotten to put the wire screen over the speaker at the top of the phone. Couldnt waste anymore time there so had to once again bring it back the next day. Took it back in there and asked for them to put my old cracked screen back on and for a refund. Was told it would be 40 minutes, turned into an hour and a half yet again. Finally the boy working on it finished and stood up and I heard him say "uh oh" and look at the other worker. He had, once again, forgot to put the screen over the speaker. So finally after ANOTHER 40 minutes I had my phone with the cracked screen back. Over 8 hours later, I was back to square one. They obviously have no idea what theyre doing when it comes to this. Just spend the extra $50 and take it to the apple store down the road at Short Pump, where I ended up taking mine after wasting 8 hours of my life Ill never get back.

Terrible terrible terrible!! Took my Xbox 360 with a Red Ring of Death, and a Laptop with a broken LCD. I was told the xbox takes 48 hours to fix and 5-6 days for the laptop because they needed to order parts. I called 6 days later, and they didnt even start working on either of them. I was told they would call me back later to let me know an update, and nothing. After hours of waiting, i finally had to call them back and they said my Xbox would be ready by close and they would see about my laptop. Came in the next day to pick it all up, and nothing was fixed. I received no apologies for making me wait 8 days. Not once was I informed or updated on anything. Not even upset that they couldnt fix anything just upset at the lack of communication and amount of disorganization. Wasted my time and gas driving to this place. Please people avoid this place, do not trust the fake reviews like I did.

I brought my laptop to Richmond Geeks today because it would not charge properly. I thought the issue was my laptop itself, but after doing a thorough cleaning and a few tests, they determined it was actually the charger. Within 2 hours, I had my laptop back and a new charger! (They didnt even charge me for the cleaning or work performed, I only paid for the charger!) When I read some of the Yelp reviews for Richmond Geeks, I was not very impressed, but time was a factor and I live fairly close to the store. I dont understand why anyone would offer anything less than a 5 star rating. The atmosphere was comfortable, and service was very friendly, honest, and prompt. If I have any future problems with my laptop (or any other electronics), I would not hesitate to give Richmond Geeks a call.

Looks like these guys have made a new google place page after their slandering campaign was exposed. Their prior place page had many fictitious accounts leaving 5 star reviews whom had also left 1 star reviews on all of their competitors pages. I wouldnt trust these guys or their reviews if they are going to resort to those tactics. They are lucky no one has brought legal auction on them yet. If you look at the user "geeks shadow", who is made out to be a customer, he has reviewed every computer store in the area and left them 1 star except for Richmond Geeks. Obviously this is fictitious. Sorry Richmond Geeks, people are smarter than you think! WOULD NEVER TRUST SOMEONE WHO RESORTS TO SLANDERING OTHERS TO TRY TO BENEFIT THEMSELVES
