Overall experience on the low end of "Just OK." I purchased a pre-owned 2003 Toyota 4Runner from Jorge Gonzalez at Leesburg Toyota last month. Overall, the experience was "ok." Jorge was very helpful, and the price negotiated was probably not as good as I could have gotten if I were a bit tougher, but it was reasonable. It went downhill a bit from there. There was only 1 finance office open on Sunday, and they were working with another customer, so my 6 year old daughter and I waited 3 hours for our turn. Luckily I brought some things to keep her occupied, and eventually moved her to the waiting area where there was a TV which Jorge kindly put on cartoons for her. Once we got through the finance process, we find out that they dont know where the 2nd key is to the vehicle and they have to wait for someone to come back from vacation and Jorge will mail it to me. They kindly let me leave my van there with a plan to come back for it a couple days later. Driving the car at night for the first time 2 days later, I discover that one of the front headlights is out and that 2 of the environmental control lights are out inside the vehicle. As the dealership is a bit of a drive from my house, I decide to handle these on my own, but I mention it to Jorge when I pick up the van. He says he will talk to his manager but disappears with another customer so I just leave. I call later in the week to check on my 2nd key and the persons still not back from vacation. Then a day later, Jorge calls me to let me know they will have to make a new key which will require me to bring the car in. I set up an appointment with Jorge for their service department. I bring the truck in and in an hour or so Ive got a new key. Of course, this is after sitting in the waiting room watching my truck sit out front for 40 minutes before anyone goes to get it. Why even set up a service appointment for something that quick? Finally, to top everything off, about 10 days before the temporary registration expires, I get a letter (not a phone call!?) from Mandy saying that the car needs its emissions test before they can get the registration and tags. REALLY??? This is where I start to get annoyed. The letter says they will reimburse me for the costs, but really this is about inconvenience at this point. I take time off of work to get the emissions tested since I only have a few days remaining. I call Mandy (who was very pleasant on the phone) and I send Mandy a summary of our conversation and the receipt via e-mail. She told me a reimbursement check will be mailed in the following week. (I expect Ill see that next week.) Finally, I needed to add new wiper blades to the truck after discovering how poor they were in the recent rainy conditions. I think the cars up to snuff now, but it took a bit of effort to get there. I expect this sort of effort after purchasing from a private seller, but not from a dealership. So overall, Ive got the car, Jorge was really nice as was Mandy, but the overall experience was on the low end of "just OK".

I had an appointment to buy a 2014 Tundra in Baltimore from a dealer that had the truck I wanted for the price I wanted and Leesburg Toyota stole me away! What was becoming what I believed was going to be a very frustrating process of getting the specific truck I wanted couldnt have been made any easier. They knew I had a killer deal and they didnt have the truck, no one did but that other dealer 100 miles away... apparently it didnt matter to Leesburg Toyota. Nazir in the sales department got with his boss Dave and with a simple email from Dave the sales manager after a long chain of emails with Nazir over several days that said "well make the deal, same truck.. same specs", I changed course. Took the afternoon off from work and thought Ill just go by and see if they put it on paper. Honestly, I didnt think they would.. Didnt think they would be able to get that truck either, especially since I made an appointment on that truck somewhere else. Literally on my drive there, I got an email from Nazir that said, "hope your having a wonderful day, this is a wow truck we just got in, looks great in red". Really? No way.. I pulled into the lot and yep, they got it.. beautiful truck, big smile. Now the hard part, right? Nazir brings the paperwork, same numbers! No tricks! Ok, next part, I have a trade in.. not just one but two!!.. Their General Sales Manager (forgive me, forgot his name.. too excited), came to chat and I thought this is where this deal falls apart.. Nope, they matched (the place that buys your car, even if you dont buy theirs) trade in prices.. Piece of cake.. They disappointed my disappointment! So the deal is done on paper but I still need to get the legal stuff done. Mike the finance guy beat the credit union terms, so I took the maintenance option. Who can argue with free (not really free, pre-paid) maintenance? Anyway, one little hiccup at the end (dont worry Nazir, you still get all 10s) with a tag bolt and I drove away in the truck I wanted, the way I wanted and at the numbers I wanted. What more could I ask for? What more could anyone ask for? My research was almost entirely online so my experience up to arriving at Leesburg Toyota was electronic. I can say this, its easy to get caught up in the paranoia of whether you are getting a good deal or not. The anonymous Internet is great, but cant replace the emotional aspects of actually talking to someone face to face and of course... seeing is believing. I really didnt think I would be typing my review of this experience today. I thought Id still be trying to get a deal.. Thank you Nazir, Dave, Mike and (forgive me, I really wish I could remember his name... great guy) the General Sales Manager at Leesburg Toyota. Ok, this is my first Toyota.. ever and I just bought it so Ill save that review until Ive owned it for a little longer. By the way, the picture of the dealership above is completely wrong.. the must have rebuilt or remodeled? Looks completely new, at least the showroom does.

I found a 07 350Z online and noticed it was a 6 speed, one of the very few in the area that had less than 100K miles. So I went to check it out. Upon arrival I noticed the car had significant swirl marks, also the interior pieces had excessive scratches. So I told Autonation, if I were to purchase this car I would gladly cover the interior cost if they would pay a professional to remove the exterior swirls. Autonation agreed, and I had it put in writing. I took it for a test drive and everything seemed ok, minus a small popping noise from the front passenger side and the radio was not working. I told them I would like the car, we went through the process and I left it with Autonation another day to remove the swirls. Day 2, I come back to pick up the car and it is still covered in swirl marks, so Autonation decided to keep it another day. I come back for the third time and they call their "professional" detailer. He claims it cannot be removed. So I take the car to F3 Auto and they have all the swirls removed within a few hours. Autonation also agreed to replace a TPMS sensor that was broken, they rebuilt it and it broke again with another week or two. A few days later I notice excessive grease dripping on my wheels and spewed all over the wheel wells. So I drive to my buddies in Woodbridge to tear it down, someone had recently removed the wheel bearing assemblies because the nuts still had fresh bare metal showing on the edges. Also, the rear plastic covers had been removed and someone had packed a vacuum type grease into the wheel bearings. They had excessive play, so I had to replace them. The following week I slammed on the brakes and it was pulling heavily to the left, upon inspection in my garage the front right caliper was not budging at all, piston had seized. So I had to rebuild that. Fast forward another month and the rear strut plates are rattling, I dropped them out and someone had cut exhaust gasket to stop the rattling, instead of replacing the bushings. Fast forward to now, I have put 1200 miles on the car and my first set of tires on the rear are gone. I brought it to STS while visiting NJ and they tell me my rear control arms are bent......excuse me? I was skeptical so I brought it out to VA tire and auto in Ashburn when I got back and they told me the same thing. I never mentioned it, just brought it in for an alignment. The thing that gets me is they put a new inspection sticker on when I bought it. This would never have passed a VA Safety inspection. Ever. -Bad Wheel bearings -Strut bushings -Caliper -TPMS light on -Rear control arms bent and alignment (toe specifically) out of whack I would never deal with this place again. And namely, Salesman Bryant Tate.
