Kloke Group performed a military move for me from Petersburg, VA to Clarksville, TN in 2016. If you are military attempt to opt out of any move where the DoD contracts Kloke Group. 1. The movers were contracted to have house hold goods to my new home by 14 December, which they agreed to do. Unfortunately that was just part of their bidding game, goods did not arrive until 31 December and they did not even seem phased they had wildly missed their mark. Christmas was still great but we had to have our feast on the floor. By the way I was calling them every other day starting two or three days before the correct arrival date. This was not an oversight or mistake. I believe they never intended to even attempt to make the correct arrival date - you know they had to save money not do what they promised. 2. I am used to having my goods crated and shut and then see those same crates arrive to my home. It gives me the comforting feeling of knowing my goods were not excessively handled and were safe from thievery. BUT KLOKE DOES IT LIKE THIS. Put everything into the back of one truck. Then bring that truck to a distribution point where they move everything from the truck to a storage unit. Then they took 50% of my belongings and sent them forward in another open truck notifying me upon their arrival that my goods had been split, sorry for not letting you know earlier. Then they took the other 50% and crated them and those crates were shipped over 2 weeks later. How many people touched my stuff? Who was watching them handle it? The situation was rife for issues and no one can even be held accountable in this scenario. My damage list consisted of 14 items totaling over $1500. They did a decent job at paying me what they owed but they took the full authorized time to agree to pay, meaning it did not happen fast. 3. They stole from me. They didnt steal just anything, they stole from the items specified as high vale / high risk - so they CAN think, despite the impression I had. I had a Cello bought in 2001 stolen. They have fought fair compensation every step of the way. First they had to have original receipts to give me anything that was not laughable despite the insurance policy I had outlined and the fact I warned them before they moved it. The cello and accessories were 15 years old and was a gift to my wife who was a child at the time, they HAD TO HAVE RECEIPTS? Luckily my mother in law has some organizational skills and had ALL receipts. HOWEVER, some of the items (remember 15 years old) could no longer be purchased for the same price. We called the same store we purchased from and could only buy back the bows for example at a price a few hundred higher. But Kloke will only reimburse me for the receipted amount...they steal my cello that I asked them to be extra cautious of and then offer me less money than it is worth. Thanks for your service to those that serve. 4. They did a good job boxing up all of our house hold goods the day before the move started (so they get 1 star). It was the best I had seen - doesnt matter much though when you have an inefficient moving process, careless workers, thieving workers, make promises you do not intend to keep, poor customer service, and a claims process that fosters partial compensation in spite of the Full Replacement Value being pushed by the government.

Wife and I got a couple of quotes for our move from northern Virginia to central Maine. Kloke, representing United Van Lines, offered the most detailed quote, with a guaranteed price. That took a lot of guesswork out of this situation. The estimator was thorough. The two-person team, that packed what we hadnt done ourselves, was exceptional. Nothing was broken when we unpacked our things. The office coordinator kept us informed. A quality control person visited us during the packing and removal process. to make sure we were happy. The driver and helpers were friendly and hard-working. The driver, upon arriving here in our rural town, deftly steered his Kenworth, 18-wheeler down our dirt road, covered at the time with snow and ice, to position the vehicle right outside our door. Ill just throw this out there: For years, I have practiced what I call advance tipping with service professionals. I tip generously WHEN they arrive on the job, not at the end. There is no guesswork, or anticipation, on their part. Hardworking people deserve generosity. I am sure the Kloke folk would have done a fine job without the pile of 20s and 50s I was disbursing. But their smiling faces made the process more tranquil for us.

Smooth all the way. Kloke has moved me three times now--that alone should tell you how I feel about them. Very professional estimating, and they give binding estimates. They work closely with you to get the time you want. The crews have all been friendly, fast workers. Kloke isnt necessarily the cheapest, but the extra money you spend will be worth it. This last move with them I had something broken (for the first time)--but it was a inexpensive item that I myself had stupidly packed. Movings always going to be scary, but Kloke has taken just a little bit of the anxiety out of the process for me.

Do not use them. Cannot be trusted. They lied about when they would arrive (scheduled to arrive between 8-10 but didnt til 3), They lied about the condition of my furniture (when confronted, said "Im only doing my job..." sounds like policy to me) They lied about how long the job would take (supposed to be done at 5, but was actually 8), They lied about how many men would be used to do the loading (said 4, only had 2), They lied about when my delivery would arrive, saying it was arriving on July 3rd. UPDATE: It is now the 12th of July, and my stuff has not yet reached its destination.

Stood me up for an estimate. When I try to call I get an answering service that has no idea how to transfer a call. MORE THAN DISAPPOINTING. I will be looking for a different vendor, even though they had been recommended.
