I came to Guaranteed Auto Service about three months ago and I was not a happy camper because my Cadillac had been in a collision and had completely stopped running. I towed it in to Guaranteed Auto Service because they had great reviews on the internet and I had just arrived with my son Brian into Newport News with the hopes of getting him admitted to law school at The College of William and Mary. Well, I did not expect to hit whatever I hit on the road, which flew up into the engine causing my radiator to get punctured dumping all of the fluid out and I kept running the car waiting for it to tell me what to do like my Cadillac always does. Long story short, I was not a smart driver but I was a faithful customer of Allstate. Allstate did not want to pay a thing on my collision because Allstate pays their CEO over 6 million a year and policy-holders have put him in the "Millionaires Club," if you get my drift. Policy payouts are the LAST thing on his mind and the finer things in life are the first. Now you know ONE of the reasons that I am voting for Bernie Sanders - "Im feeling the Bern!" So, with Allstate giving me the ULTIMATE run around, repeatedly denying my claim after I paid them for over six months for full-coverage at over $100 per month - Guaranteed Auto Service got caught in the middle of the mess. I was depending on them for an ethical account of what they had seen with the radiator puncture during their inspection that I personally paid them to do AND to keep my car safe during this battle with Allstate, which I had to get The Bureau of Insurance involved in. Guess what? Allstate is still refusing to pay the damages and only threw me PART of the money to fix my car. It still wont run and I didnt even get PART of the money until I showed very strong circumstantial evidence that their adjuster had tampered with the collision evidence. Allstate, in Northbrook, Illinois (their corporate offices) gave me NIGHTMARES, literally. My son and I were running out of funds paying for cabs, an expensive hotel and eating out daily so we had to move to an area with a good transit system and flew to Manhattan and Chicago before landing in Myrtle Beach - a really great place without a law school. Thanks Allstate! And thank GOD for Guaranteed Auto Service! They were the champions in this whole ordeal. They not only remained professional throughout my battle with Allstate, but they went way out of their way to protect and keep my car safe. I HIGHLY recommend Paul Barr and his team at Guaranteed Auto Service in Newport News, VA because having your car in "good hands" isnt with Allstate. It is with Guaranteed Auto Service. Tell them Janice Alexander sent you.

I cant believe that I forgot to leave a review of this place. About 6 months ago before the holidays I took my truck in to get some work done; new brake pads, rotors resurfaced, etc. well when I got my truck back it rode HORRIBLE! It was shaking terribly and when I braked it felt like I was pumping them as if the rotors had been warped or bent or something. I thought at first it may be the new pads, and maybe they just need to be broken in. So I drove them for about a week but the problem only persisted. I called to let them know what happened but they didnt seem too happy to hear that I was complaining and seemed kind of reluctant to help me, so naturally I was discouraged and kind of put off from returning to have them try and fix it. I dont have a lot of money and Ive been trapped in this loop of getting repairs done, then getting my car back to find something new wrong because of the shop, and then being forced out of more money for new repairs. I took my truck in to tread quarters to see if they could pinpoint the shaking and to see if guaranteed warped my rotors, all they could tell me was that the brake problem that made it feel as if I were pumping them up and down, could be due to the shop installing the wrong type of brake pads but couldnt be sure unless I had them replaced, and that the shaking issue was probably being caused by my bearings. Apparently when Guaranteed put my wheels back together they didnt properly "pack" my bearings back in and I would now need to replace them to ensure they worked properly. All of this could not be confirmed and is now going to cost me a lot of money to figure out. Ive put it off for a long time now because of the funds and because I did not trust Guaranteed with my truck again. It really sucks when this kind of thing happens to people in my kind of position, and I just wish there was ONE auto shop out there in the world that actually did quality work for a fair price, and was honest about their business...

My experience with gaurenteed auto was not pleasant in at all. Ill give the counterstaff credit. They were polite to talk to, but everything other than dropping my car off to them has been a headache. Every time I wanted an update I would call them. There were numerous times I was supposed to get a call back and they never would. I never felt like a valued customer. I dropped off my car to get the cv shaft replaced. They diagnosed it and replaced my cv shaft (this job takes an hour) well I needed a hub too so they ordered and replaced that as well. Finally get my car back two and a half weeks later, drive it home (less than 10 miles) and go to leave again and the same cv shaft they just replaced fails. The boot was already off of it and grease was slung up on the underside of my car. Tow it back to them on Wednesday 4/5 they warrantied it but they dont get anything done in a timely manner. I think being a customer who had to get the work that was done, redone, I should take priority. They have had my car another week for a job that takes an hour. I called them on Monday 4/10 and they said they got the part late in the day and Ill have it on Tuesday 4/11. Call them on Tuesday then they tell me I wont get it back until Wednesday 4/11. Understandable that they have to wait to get another part in but if you tell me my car is going to be done one day I think it should be done that day. Ive missed time at work that I didnt need to miss dealing with it getting towed and getting time off to go pick it up. Im EXTREMELY dissatisfied. I wouldnt and wont recommend anyone to go to this shop. Also when I sent someone to go get the key for me the first time it was done. (i couldnt get off that day because I had off the day prior because they told me it would be done and it wasnt) they were joking my car and when they took it on a test drive they were beating on it (being hard on it) I dont think thats how you should talk about it treat your customers automobiles.
