We are a military family and had orders to the Hampton roads are so we were looking for a place to rent. We had 2 black labs that were coming with us so finding a place was a bit of a challenge. Finally after them showing us a ton of places and it taking up 3 days of our time they came back and told us "but none of these places are allowed pets". Then why the hell show them to us I was wondering. They finally showed us a place that they would allow the dogs in and when we asked them how much the rent was they said "how much is your BAH again?" We told them $1400 a month. Their reply was "the rent is $1400 a month". Because we were pressed for time and to go back to our current duty station since our house hunting leave was over, we signed a lease. At the last minute of us getting ready to PCS the military changed our orders and we were getting sent somewhere else. We contacted Judy Boone Reality and informed them of the change, mind you we paid a $1400 security deposit and $1000 security deposit for the dogs ($500 each) and we never actual set foot in the house other than to look at while house hunting. They told us they were not going to refund any of our money and we were just out of luck. They became very nasty with us and were absolutely awful to try and deal with. We lost all of our money and we tried to work with them as much as possible. But in the end we lost all of our money. I will never recommend anyone to ever rent from them they are just terrible people to deal with. I recommend to give them no stars, if that was possible.

I rented a 2 bedroom apartment through Judy Boone from October 2008-October 2010 for $775. Rent was cheap so I didnt expect much. There were roaches and they tried to get rid of them, but unfortunately with the type of people that were moving in and out of there, it was nearly impossible. I finally moved out due to them lowering the rent and not honoring the new rate for us. There were also plenty of shady characters moving in due to the low rent. I understand you pay for what you get though. My real problem is that it has been over 60 days and I still have not received my deposit back. Legally they have up to 45 days. My roommate and I have called on serveral occasions and have received empty promises and we were even lied to. I was told my check would be going out before Christmas, but then my roommate was told on January 4th that it would go out in a week because everyone in the office has the flu. I called again today and they took a message and said someone will call me back today. We will see....Dont rent from Judy Boone.

Thanks to the wonderful folks at Judy Boone Realty! My husband got orders to Hampton Roads. I made a quick weekend trip to the area hoping to get a feel for the area. I made-up my mind I would find a rental for the 1st year & then hopefully buy the next. I stopped by JBR for a rental listing but went in the Sales door by mistake. Lucky me! The receptionist put me in touch w/a duty agent who was just coming off her shift. She took some brief info from me & then asked if I had about half an hour. Boy did I get the nickel tour. She showed me houses in the price range I told her I wanted to stay, she drove me around showing me points of interest, shopping centers, post office and even stopped by the elementary school of the area where I wanted to stay while I ran in to get registration papers. I got the royal treatment. My agent has been superb, the staff was laid back but professional & Im closing on the 2nd home Ive ever bought. Yeah me! (I didnt give 5 stars because I think there is always room for improvement.)

I have heard nothing but good things about Judy Boone herself, but we really had an awful experience with one of her associated realtors. We did all the work ourselves to find a place because she kept giving us listings in bad neighborhoods and we have a toddler. We gave her a fairly high maximum amount. Once we found a few places she only actually showed us one place, all of the others she just gave us the code and we let ourselves in...or she would send her assistant out in sweatpants to let us in and quickly dart away. She had us wait for her for hours on several occasions and she would never call or show up, but her assistant would text us letting us know she was showing a million dollar house. Another good point to make of our Judy Boone agent is the house that she happened to make an appearance at, my father made one walk through and let us know the house had been flooded and their were holes under the linoleum. She told us the house had never flooded.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! I recently had the very unfortunate task of working with Ms. Boone herself on a professional level. I suppose I should have known how our business relationship would go once she said - "Dont you know who I am?" I am very sorry Ms. Boone, no I did not know you, but I do now. Not only was she very quick to become loud and obtuse with me but she likes to use derogatory terms to try to get her point heard. I was and still am very shocked and appalled at her unprofessionalism. I racked my brain to think of at least one positive note to add but the only one I can conjure up is that she eventually, after not getting her way, hung up on me. I have the all of our conversations recorded, I am heavily weighing the idea of posting them so that others can see the real true Ms. Boone before entering into any business relationship with her. Be careful who you speak to like that Ms. Boone or the whole world will know how nasty of a person you are.

Stay away from Judy Boone Realty! People said they were awful, but I just didnt believe it...now I do. Scheduled an appointment with agent, "Lisa Martin," to view a house for sale. After sitting in front of the property for 30 minutes, I called to verify the appointment. She stated she would be there soon. After an hour and a couple of unsuccessful attempts calling her cell phone and having to leave messages, the home office patched me through to her cell. She answered and then hung up! She never called back or showed up. I am still flabbergasted! Unprofessional—PERIOD—Business should not be conducted in this manner. (total disrespect and a total waste of my time) I would hate this to have been my house she was selling. Bad Business—Believe the bad reviews. There are a gazillion realtors out there. Stay away from this one!

My husband and I came to this office after having been blatantly discriminated against at another rental office. We were made welcome and were shown properties as well as given info on what steps we need to take to be able to buy a home. All was done in such a helpful way that we knew our best interests were being worked toward. The office is beautiful and well appointed in a flowing, breezy, serenity-at-the-oceanfront style. The agents there are knowledgeable of not only their job descriptions but can give a synopsis of how their other departments can and will help you.All have a comfortable professional appearance and send a warm, genuine, welcoming smile no matter how many times you enter their office.
