I am a very particular person when it comes to making purchases especially major purchases in my home. I have had several people to come out and give an estimate. The majority of the reps from these companies came in quoted a price without even getting up and to actually assess the situation meaning looking in the attic, checking the return, etc...or even actually explaining to me how the equipment works and how their product would benefit me. I know I look very, very young and a female but I am far from what most would expect. Bobby came in my home and took time to assess the situation as well as give in dept information about how the system works, how it would benefit me (comfort and financially wise), and brought material to back up how great American Standard works as well as his company. I mean the guy really knows his stuff. As I always do, I googled and did other research to see what he was telling me was accurate and sure thing it was. I even did a background check on the company...and no complaints. When the crew came in to put the unit in, they were very nice polite, explained the process and wiling to answer any questions or concerns. I really appreciate him coming back to assess how the unit was working and educated me on how to properly set my thermostat. I AM MOSTLY THANKFUL FOR THE HUGH REDUCTION IN MY ELECTRIC BILL!!!!! People I am talking about I usually pay around $200 even or more to run my A/C in my 1400 sqft townhome. The bill for the whole entire month of August was $66.98. When I saw that bill, I called a few people to tell them about my saving and how GREAT Bob and his crew were during the experience. Thank God for Norfolk Air Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing!!!!!!!

We had a terrible experience with another HVAC company and called Norfolk Air to come out and take a look at our broken AC system. The technician kindly and gently broke the news that the part needed to repair our aging system is no longer made and a new system is needed. We did our homework, talked to family out-of-state who are HVAC experts, and got several quotes from other recommended local companies. Not only did Norfolk Air give us the best quote, it was on the best equipment, and they were who our family thought was the best company to go with. Bobby, who is part owner, was very helpful and informative when giving us an estimate and evaluated all of our needs instead of just our broken AC which led us to having a heat pump installed instead of just a new AC and keeping our old inefficient heat system. We couldnt be happier as it is a much better option for our house and family. We are also very excited about the air purification system also installed at a great price offered by Bobby. Our installers, Brandon and Dean, were friendly, clean, and courteous. We were also very impressed that Bobby personally came back to review the installers work and answer any questions we have and make sure everything is working properly. Top customer service all the way. We definitely recommend Norfolk Air to anyone in Hampton Roads with any HVAC or plumbing needs! Well never use anyone else!

Needed new Heating & Air System. Norfolk Air gave best price per SEER, and American Standard had good reviews. The technicians installed the heat first since the weather was cold AND they supplied two space heaters to use while the heat was off. The whole system except for the humidifier (that needed a part ordered) was installed in two days. The workers put down tarps on the floors and cleaned up nicely both inside and out. Very personable and knowledgeable technicians and open to answer my questions. I look forward to years of preventive maintenance for my system with Norfolk Air. After one month the system (heat and humidifier- havent needed cooling) is working great. (We purchased gas heat with a separate A/C.) Finally, the front office people and the Comfort Consultant, Tyler, were pleasant and helpful. Well run company! UPDATE: Now about four months after the installation the air & heating system runs beautifully. My gas bills went up as expected since I didnt have gas heating previously, but the gas and electric bills together are less than half of my bills for the same months last year! Ive had regular service done now (April 2017), had the old part of our house rewired, and the service tech. discovered a gas leak that was promptly repaired by a fine young man named Kelvin. I feel these folks saved my house from burning down!

My heat stopped working one night in Feb 2013, the coldest days of the year...it was dropping down to the low 20s. I called up a company that had previously worked on my heating unit and they were not able to come out until the next day...So I found Norfolk Airs website. I gave them a call and they came out within a half an hour...I was very greatful of that. I had a clue that the problem with my heater was my ignitor. Branden came out and checked the system and verified that the problem was the ignitor. Great...he had the part in the truck. Sounds good, I thought....The estimate on the part $347 plus the $89 for service ($436 total). I looked online and found the part at 3 different websites for $20-$30. To get the part shipped overnight was an extra $30. I understand jacking the prices up to come out and complete a diagnostic of the system in an emergency situation, but to jack up the price of a part by 7 times is ridiculous. I fell for this last year with a previous company and paid $500 then for a $30 part. Yeah..Im going to be cold tonight, but i have a fireplace and a bunch of blankets and Ill have the part installed tomorrow. Oh yeah...the ignitor is held in place with 1 screw and takes less than 2 minutes to replace. If this is the practice of all HVAC companies here in Norfolk, than get me out of here.

We got back from vacation at around 5pm. Walked into the house and it was 97 degrees. Apparently the central air conditioning system stopped working and had pumped hot air into the house, for I dont know how long. I called four "emergency air conditioning repair services", and one of them said they could be here in THREE days! One said they didnt have anyone tonight. And another said they would call back and never did. NORFOLK AC&P said they could have someone out in the next two hours. Half an hour later, I received a call that they were on their way. Hallelujah!! The repairman arrived within an hour window of my call, and also discounted me the "after hours diagnostic fee" to their normal rate, since it wasnt much later. He was very friendly and personable. Anyway, after a very few minutes, he said it was the capacitor that was burnt out and the unit needed cleaned. Until then, he would replace it, get it working and we could schedule the cleaning within a few days. Ten minutes later, I had cold air blowing in my house. Awesome. The rate is on par with all of the top local companies, you will pay at least $80 for the visit, and then whatever the parts and labor are... but given the fact that they were here within an hour, I consider that a bargain. I think I have a new HVAC place.
