I rented a unit here for 4 years 2012-2016. The property is continuously improving in cleanliness and quality and the staff are more than competent at their jobs. The prices are a bit high but thats to be expected with the convenient location. Willie-- the manager-- may get some knocks on reviews here but they are likely undeserved. He always did his best by me, his employees, and his business. Anyone receiving less than they expected likely had an unreasonable expectation or conducted themselves disrespectfully. Willie and U-Haul Moving & Storage are valuable assets to Norfolk. He provides valuable jobs to an underemployed sector of the economy. His business fills moving/storage needs for US Navy, Eastern Virginia Medical School, and the downtown area population.

Ive had to use this location at least 5 times in the past 2 years. Service is always NOT friendly - the manager is always flippant with me. Ive used the location out of convenience - its really close by. Decided to write a negative review this morning after arriving there to rent a trailer, they didnt have any available - which is cool, I asked if they could find out if other locations did, was told "we are not allowed to do that, to look that up". I though ok, wierd, maybe some kind of franchise rule. Called the other location and they took my number and said they will find out who has what in the area - sounded like a regular uhual service.

Even though having better costumer service experience and a timely check out than budget, the GM should have taken more time to verify company policy for the minimum height of a trailer attachment, as we also had to purchase a ball/ball mount for our hitch. After a few towns over I finally decided we should stop at the closest UHaul and get the fixture looked at by a professional. When confronted on the phone by another store, the manager tried to state that we opted out of the proper height (min. 8" from the ground). I hate to give bad reviews to people, but I have had a long day with a lot of bad tastes left in my mouth.

I rent from this location often, we use the u-hauls to transport all of our equipment for our pop-up, and every time, we have such a pleasant experience with the staff here. The cargo van is what we usually rent, and we always prefer having the Ford Transit Van, and every time the staff are more than happy to accommodate us. I havent rented from other facilities but twice, but i would still rather go out of my way to rent from this location, than anywhere else. These people definitely take care of you.

Poor customer service Manger chris always on phone very rude disrespectful makes fun of his customers joking around unprofessional flirts with female customers in front of other customers he lies about what is available at his location he sent me to a different location and they didnt have truck I was trying to rent they said it was available at Monticello I said funny I was told to come to this location in va beach to get the truck i hope he doesnt treat everyone like this

I went there to rent a storage unit. I gave the manger my I.D. to go veiw my unit only when I return to get my I.D. I come to find out they lost it. The told me sorry you can go to dmv and get another one we will pay for the replacement. I told them to keep the $20 and I would take my business else where. Not impressed poor service they will get you too.

Completely incompetent at installing a wiring harness for tow hitch, wires were zip tied to fuel lines, threaded through brake lines, and long run left loose under chassis. Dealer said it was a hazard and had to come out when I went in for an routine maintenance. I had to agree.

The trailer I rented had a lock on it that prevented me from closing the door. Instead of giving me a credit to my card they gave me a gift certificate to use for my next move. Thanks Uhaul Ill remember that credit for a year from now!

Had an issue with the call center, they didnt send my invoice through. This place was really cool about it and got me on my way very quickly ( I had a time restriction because I had to pick up a studio desk by 5). Thanks again guys!

I had a great experience with this location. Charles was very helpful in finding another storage location that fit my needs. He was very polite and courteous. I also had a good experience with the uhaul place on Rugby.

We had a good first Uhaul experience dropping our 20 truck off here. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because theyre parking lot is a little weird. Make sure youre watching the signs and arrows!
