Nate, not only can you not spell, but you also cannot tell the truth. You are the liar and the thief here. Shame on you for writing such a review and not telling the whole truth. The truth is you wrecked your only vehicle in the snow, had it towed to Ridgefield Auto without prior consent and authorization. Then you insisted on used parts as you could not afford new ones which were readily available. The used parts that you needed had to be ordered from out of town and took a day to find and couple of days to have shippped in. They when you came to pick up your vehicle, you wrote a check which was returned due to insufficient funds. When Ridgefield Auto contacted your wife, she informed them that you did not have the money to cover the check and that you were moving out of state the next day. You knew you did have the money to pay for the repairs when you authorized the repairs to be done. So who is the thief here? You wrecked your only vehicle and you needed new tires and a new (used) wheel to make your vehicle drivable again. You had never been to Ridgefield Auto before, yet you want to judge them negatively because of your own faults. So before you go and write a negative review about a business next time, please be sure you give all the facts. You are the liar and the thief. You attempted to leave town on a bad check and you had no intentions of paying for the repairs if the law had not gotten involved. You are the liar and the thief.

Poor service. My A/C went out and they said they wouldnt even look at it unless I left it all day. So, I dropped it off the night before, walked home from there, and worked from home the next day. I called at 3PM to see how it was going, and he said theyd call me when they knew something and hung up. I called again at 4:30 knowing that they closed at 5PM, to find out how its going. They just added freon/dye in it a few minutes ago just to start the process of finding where the leak is. When I walked back over there and asked why they started so late, they told me they were very busy today working on cars for people that dropped it off today and waited there for it to be done. Now, I would have to bring it back again so they can find the leak, and then order the parts ( compressor?) and come back a third time to install it.

I am so thankful & thrilled I went back to Ridgefield Automotive for a "2nd opinion", after getting a rejected State inspection. Unfortunately, I couldnt get an Inspection late in the day, 12/29/16. So I went to another place in the neighborhood . I am a 61y.o. single girl & usually get taken advantage of by automotive repair shops & dealerships. I was told by this other repair shop my car needed about $450 of work, after the owner did State inspection. Yet, Ridgefield Automotive found a couple of minor repairs needed, ONLY! They have been doing State Inspections on my cars for many years , as well as various repair work. Though I started using the dealership to maintain my newer car, several years ago, But now I will return to this fine, family owned automotive shop, for my cars servicing!!!

The service isnt bad, and the staff is nice, but the labor costs are WAAAY overpriced for someone who is watching their budget. I went in to get my window motor replaced because it died, and the part was $80 (which sounds about right because the part at a general auto store is about $50) But the labor costs were $145 dollars, for work I know can be done in 30-40 minutes. I took my car in around 9:45am and didnt get it back until close to 3pm. The time it was there wasnt really my issue, as I understand places can get pretty busy, but I feel like I paid for my car to sit in the lot half the day instead of the actual labor cost. If I would have had the tools I needed to do this myself I would have and saved myself time and money.

Ive been to a lot of shops and never have I had such a horrible experience! I would not have gone there except that the owner promised me that he would have my car working by the time I had to go to work that night. It wasnt until 5 days lator that it was finally fixed. And they charged me almost $600 to fix a tire and a spare. I missed out on 4 shifts at work, but they didnt care. In fact they were extremely rude to me whenever I called up to check on the statis of my car which they kept promising tomorrow, tomorrow. Unless you have plenty of money and time to spare and enjoy people being rude to you, dont go here!

Tuners beware. DIY beware. Failed inspection due to some light bulbs and another problem. I fixed everything but a light bulb and took it back Thursday night. They called Friday at 11am and said it failed for the light bulb. Told them to fix the problem. Went to pick up the car late Friday and they said it wasnt done. They called Saturday morning saying it failed due to more problems that they didnt list the first or second time. They overload themselves with work and have inconsistent inspectors. Plus they artificially increase their Google score. Will not do business with them again

Ive used quite a few shops in Richmond and by far Ridgefield auto is the only one I have ever gone back to. They are reliable, always do a good job and their prices are very reasonable. They dont ever try to rip you off with the state inspections like every other place ive been to in Richmond which always find some ridiculous thing that "needs" to be fixed. Ive had an old car which has needed repairs a few times and they have always worked with me to make sure I dont put too much money into an old car. I totally recommend them.

BEWARE. These guys seem to be looking for ways to over charge and get you to pay for extra items. I went in for a state inspection and oil change and my bill was over $100. They decided the car needed an air filter to the tune of $35 without consulting me plus the oil change alone was almost $50 for a basic 4 cylinder sedan. I mean come on - they charges $13 for the oil filter alone. Anyway, beware or if they are doing work for you ask for a quote so you dont get stuck with charges.

This a GREAT and HONEST shop. I took my noisy and rough running truck there expecting an expensive fix, the mechanic (Marshall) diagnosed the noise in literally 3 seconds and the part was on the truck 30 minutes later and it was running perfectly again. Total cost was $14. I will not hesitate to take any of my cars there for service, these are GOOD guys. Thanks Ridgefield Auto , youve got my business! ~Andy Crehore

I usually service my Accord at Honda showrooms. In my last service, I got a $150 bill. I decided to give Ridgefield Auto service a shot. And it turned out to best decision, I made. They called me and discussed the issues in the car and gave a quote upfront. I paid only $60 including all standard services and oil change. Happy to do business.
