Employee behind the counter was not in a good mood, said he had been getting cussed out all day, and used profanity towards us. He informed us that we "got lucky" because the trailer i was supposed to get got extended, so he was about to call me to tell me there was no trailer for me to rent, when one just got returned out of the blue. This was not the scheduled pickup location, it was an hour out of my way (one direction, two hours total). i was informed of this change of pickup location one day before my departure. I made the reservation 2 plus weeks in advance and the associate behind the counter informed me that there are no measures taken to get rental items where needed, so in other words they just book everything, take all reservations, with no reassurance there will actually be a unit available, which is a terrible business practice, and leaves all kinds of avenues for failure open. I had multiple people travel with me over 5 hours each way to help me move, if there had not been a trailer available, the entire weekend would have been disastrous. This location had no furniture pads I had reserved either. Lights on the trailer didnt work, had to go to another location to get the pads. Just ridiculous.

Equipment was clean, but well maintained is a different story. The steering in the 17 truck I rented made the vehicle legitimately difficult to drive. I felt as if I was a hazard on the road because of constantly having to fight the steering wheel to stay inside a single lane. Other than that, the service was great and the guy working the desk was very friendly. I was able to get in and get out quickly even though there were customers ahead of me. Really, the only bad thing I can say about this location is the mechanical condition of the truck I rented. I fear if the truck was rented to someone more unfamiliar with driving a large vehicle they could have caused an accident.

Do not go here! General Manager scammed us for damage charges. The top of the truck we used (17 truck with 11 clearance), had a crack in one of the seams.... Which was repaired already with dried silicone. We had the truck for less than 8 hours, didnt even go under any bridges or anything to hit it, and even if we did we wouldnt have tried to repair it with silicone, and even then.... The silicone wouldnt have even had time to dry. Just a total scam. Complained to corporate, will be making a claim with BBB as well.

I have been to a few different locations here in Roanoke and they are the easiest to check out and check in and always have great equipment to rent out. 040116 update: Used them again and it was the fastest in and out ever. So glad they are near me.
