Never use Ford Contracting. Dan does not answer calls, he does not care about your family, he does not keep promisses. I have a home warranty on my house and twice I have had plumbing issues. Ford Contracting, owned by Dan, has been dispatched to my home for both issues. The first time was a broken water heater. Dan did not respond to the service request for over 24 hours, then he said he needed me to stay at my house all day so he could come whenever he wanted. The following day (not the day he told me to stay home and wait on him) he called in the morning after I had left for work and said he would be at my house in five minutes...I had to cancel that service and found another Plumbing service, All American Drain Service, that was able to get to my house that day. I had to pay out of pocket and the Home Warranty sent me a reimbursement check a month later. The second issue was yesterday when an old copper pipe sprung a leak in my basement. So much water came out that the water had to be turned off. I called the Home Warranty people and they said this would be marked as an emergency. They scheduled Ford Contracting again. As I did not want to wait 24 hours, I called Ford Contracting myself. They answered after the third call. They said they could not get anyone out there that day, but they would have someone to my house the following afternoon. The next day I sent a text to confirm the time, they responded that it would be in the evening. About 5:30 that night, I sent another text to see if someone was on the way; Dan from Ford Contracting did not respond. At 6:15 I started calling them. It took six calls for Dan to answer the phone (they do not have an answering service). Dan said he would not have anyone to my house that night, and because it was the weekend he would not be out until Monday. I told him that my wife and two month old daughter had to leave the house and stay with friends because we were out of water. I needed someone out here. He said it was not his problem. He did not care that a family with an infant were without water. I canceled the appointment with him (hung up on him) and called the Home Warranty people. They suggested I pay a trusted plumber to do the work and that they would reimburse me at their rate as they did before. I called All American (it was about 6:45 PM at this point) and they said they would have someone at my house by 7:00 AM the next morning. All American also answered their phone immediately.

If it was possible to give zero stars I would. This contractor, Dan Ford, was completely unprofessional and irresponsible. He was provided to me by my home warrantee company to replace a water heater. After initially showing up to do the job assessment, he became almost impossible to communicate with. He told me a couple of times that he "may" be able to schedule me on a certain date to do the work and that he would call me to let me know for sure after he looked at his calendar. He never called me back, ever. I waited until after he said he would call and then started calling him. He did this to me twice. I left 15 messages over the course of 3 days to find out when he would be able to perform the work so I could arrange my schedule to be there. He never once responded. Finally I was so fed up I contacted the warrantee company to get another vendor assigned. I never did get any work done by him. Overall the impression that I have of him is that he is more concerned with obtaining the work than he is in actually DOING the work. He certainly has no regard for his customers or their time. Will never hire him!

Dan was a pleasure to work with. Very professional, courteous, and on time. I put in a service request through my Home Warranty provider and Dan was dispatched to service what I thought was a leak coming from my bathroom. It turned out to be a cracked hose behind my refrigerator. Without Dan, we probably would not have found the issue because it was not immediately apparent that the hose was leaking. Dan quickly found the problem and fixed it. Highly recommend Dan, would gladly call him again for our plumbing needs. Thank you Dan!

Terrible customer service. He was recommended by our home warranty company and did not call when he said he would and remained unavailable until we had to call for a different company to use. I do not recommend Ford Contracting.
