I called these guys on Monday and talked to David about my new Colemen Outboard which only had 15 to 18 hours on it. They told me to call Coleman and provided the number. I called Colemen at least 14 times. Hey I want my toys fixed when they break and I want them back. I waork hard and I like to play hard. AT my age a gas pain could be a heart attack. Ok. So I dropped off my outboard at 1:15pm on my lunch hour and was called back about what was wrong with my motor along with the exact cost for the repairs. I met George who tore down the engine, I talked to David and at my age I did not get the name of the individual who wrote my work ticket. That is my bad, because his name would be included if I could remember it. My kids, (sons) who thought I should take my outboard to some outboard place for repair that is a Coleman dealer. Well I took it there. Guess what. They talked to Colemen. Colemen is picking up the tab. They will have my motor back by next week. I was going to pay the bill myself, but they came in on my behalf. You dont find that kind of service these days. As my Grandson who is sitting right beside me stated "Pop Pop, these guys rock". I will have my motor back and we are heading out for a 3 day trout fishing trip in 2 weeks using this motor. Because I am not rowing. That, my Friend is customer service. To all the guys at Chandler and Sons. As my Grandson states, you all Rock!!! Thanks for the support. Thank you also George. You said you would find out what was wrong right after you finished lunch. You did. I am serving crow for dinner tonight to all my boys. Thanks to Chandler and Sons. Al Lange

I had been going here for a couple years and one of the other reviewers hit the nail on the head. They get you to trust them by being friendly and reasonably priced on routine maintenance and easy repairs. When you get to trust them, they start extracting all they can from you. My most recent experience that was the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak, was when they diagnosed the problem with my 4Runners check engine light and replaced the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Including diagnostics and parts and labor it was about $500. The light only stayed off for a few days and when I called they said bring it in and theyll check to see if the part was defective. I did so and left it with them and when I came back they said that I needed a new front catalytic converter for about $1K. When I told them I didnt want to replace it, they charged me new diagnostics fees of $99.50. What nerve! Since that was never agreed to, I told them I would pay them now by credit card but then dispute the charge with my credit card company. He then says "CASH ONLY" and I was stuck. I couldnt get my car and was fuming by this time and called the police. They obviously knew the routine and the bottom line was I had to fork over the cash just to get my car. Now I have to take them to court. This is just the most recent example of how they lost my trust by lies and poor workmanship. If you are a smart person who checks these comments before going to them....be warned.

I live around the corner and went to these guys for an oil change. They found a nail in my left rear tire after I reported it being flat. They charged me 39$ for patch work which is exorbitant. You can get the same patch work at Walmart for $10. Other places will do it for free. My initial impression of the folks was good, seemed customer oriented and honest. I know very little about cars and I think these folks take advantage of such people. When I requested them not to start work on the patch they told me they were almost done. They told me the patch would take 15 mins, and it hadnt even been a minute before I told them to stop. They also started arguing about the authenticity of the $10 Walmart price. Anyone who can google can google the price. I would not recommend these folks for regular or minor maintenance work. I cant comment on any significant work that may be required. The atmosphere did seem nice, however they seem like they take advantage of folks who are not as savvy. I will not be going there again.

I took my RX-7 in after I hit a curb, the two gentlemen informed me that I had "blown" the front strut and it was bouncing around (which anyone who knows how a shock works would deem impossible), and had the chance of "shooting through the hood" as they described! I paid the "inspection"/bend over and lube fee and did the job at my friends garage. Turned out the strut was in perfect shape and I wasted a few hundred dollars for nothing. I brought the strut back and was told some nonsense about "we held a prybar to it and saw movement". It looks like they tried to take advantage of my state of shock after the incident. What an unethical and pathetic shop. Its obvious the only reason they stooped to this level was because they were starved for business which says even more. Avoid them at all costs.

Fred, Mike and their Mom have treated me like family from day one. I have been using Chandler and Sons since 1999. I have referred many of my friends to them over the years. I drive all the way from NW DC because of the absolute trust I have in them to get the job done. Nate, who works the counter is a very valuable asset. If you live in Greater Washington DC Metro area and need superior service and most importantly, a great user experience, look no further. You will not be disappointed.

I took my car there after a flat tire and the guy in the front explained all of my options and sympathized with the fact that I didnt have the money to completely replace the wheel on the spot after it had been discovered that I bent my rim. They worked well with me and had the wheel over-nighted and I was satisfied. I am going back in today to get another wheel looked at, review to follow.

You know I love all of you at Chandler and Sons Automotive and would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone. I dont know why, but nobody asks me where I get my car repaired? Maybe folks dont ask women, but men...they do. Its just not a subject that comes in my conversation. I get asked, "Hows the zoo, when is the best time to visit, etc.?"

I have used them for 27 years. It is a family owned business, and that makes all of the difference. If you have a problem, you end up talking to one of the owners. They work on any make or model, trucks, RVs, etc. and have even served as subcontractors to the local car dealers that do not want to deal with major repairs on older cars.
