hello all, my son was a member in this gym for the last 5 years and I "mother" was paying for his monthly payment; (we started when it was $20/month I think and we werent allowed to cancel our subsc before the due time back then" or so was the rule. since my son was so busy he didnt use the gym for the last 4 years (so the money was just being paid via my CC and we didnt cancel hoping that he would use any time when he can) guys you wont even believe what happened to me tonight: I went there around 6.44 pm and asked to use the gym but since the membership was under my sons name one girl and a boy(employees) told me I cant do that unless my son comes and transfer the membership to me; I gently requested them to let me use just for tonight and I will bring my son tomorrow and do the transfer; they agreed and guy told me its OK just for tonight but I should do the necessary steps with my son tomorrow (HE EVEN TOLD ME MY SON DOESNT EVEN HAVE TO COME IF HE IS BUSY AND HE CAN WRITE ME A LETTER OF TRANSFER AND SIGN IT) I told him this is even better and went on to the gym and after exactly 20 minutes the same girl (employee who was standing by the guy and who I SWEAR SHE CLEARLY HEARD THE GUY WHEN HE ALLOWED ME TO USE THE GYM) she came and told me to stop using the gym and to come to the front desk. when I went there I found the manager (wasnt there when I came in the first time) the manager (his name is Tony) told me I shouldnt have used the gym; I told him that his two employees allowed me to use it and I told him the whole story; he called the 2 employees and asked them if they allowed me BUT TO MY SURPRISE THEY DENIED IT TOTALLY!! guys I was about to faint I JUST DIDNT BELIEVE MY EARS THAT THIS IS HAPPENING IN FRONT OF ME! I GOT ANGRY AND ASKED TO CANCEL MY SONS MEMBERSHIP; TO MY SURPRISE THE MANAGER AGREED VERY QUICKLY AND GAVE ME THE PAPER TO SIGN THE CANCELLATION (EVEN THOUGH THEY TOLD ME FIRST THAT THE MEMBERSHIP WAS UNDER MY SON AND THEY CANT DO THE TRANSFER UNLESS HE AUTHORIZE IT- SO HOW COME THEY APPROVE THE CANCELLATION THEN?) anyways I ASKED TONY TO LET ME HAVE ACCESS TO HIS MANAGER BECAUSE I WANT TO TALK TO HIM ; HE REPLIED ME IN A VERY RUDE MANNER THAT HE IS THE BIG MANAGER OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND THAT HE HAS NO MANAGER ABOVE HIM! NOT ONLY THIS BUT HE ASKED ME TO GO OUT B/C HE DOESNT WANT ME IN HIS GYM OTHERWISE HE WILL CALL THE POLICE ON ME!!!!!!!!!!! I WENT AND STOOD OUT SIDE IN THE COLD WEATHER( I AM TURNING 60) WAITING FOR MY FRIEND TO FINISH WITH THE GYM SINCE SHE IS THE ONE WHO GIVES ME THE RIDE; I WASNT TAKING MY CELL PH WITH ME SO I NEEDED TO CALL MY DAUGHTER TO LET HER CALL MY FRIEND AND TELL HER I WAS WAITING OUT SIDE THE GYM IN THE COLD WINTER; WHEN MY FRIEND CAME OUT AND FOUND ME THERE SHE WAS ANGRY; SHE INSISTED TO GO INSIDE AND ASK TONY WHY HE DID THAT; TO MY SURPRISE HE LIED TO HER SAYING THAT I TOLD 3 PEOPLE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME AND HE TOLD HER THAT THE 3 PEOPLE CAME IN SIDE THE GYM AND ASKED HIM WHAT HAPPENED!! ANOTHER LIE (AFTER THE EMPLOYEE ONES) WHAT HAPPENED IS I STOOPED ONE LADY WHO CAME OUT OF THE GYM AND ASKED TO USE HER CELL PHONE B/C I NEEDED TO CALL MY DAUGHTER TO LET HER CALL MY FRIEND TO COME OUT SINCE I WAS ASKED TO GO AWAY!! I WANT TO TELL YOU GUYS THAT I AM A 59 YEARS BLACK WOMAN I cover my head according to my religions rules.. thanks for your patience.

just terrible. this place is decent for a gym newbie. but after being here for almost one year, i would have gladly left 5 months ago if i wasnt in a contract. this employees are very rude and do not do their job at all. as soon as i came to sign up, they didnt give a tour or anything. they just told me the prices and told me to sign up. i thought i just came on a bad day. i was dead wrong. there are signs everywhere that say "no cellphone use at all in the area". yet there is always atleast 2 people at a time, on a machine, talking on their cellphone (btw the reception sucks in the gym anyway). people blatantly break the rules and the employees dont care at all. however they did have the balls to stop me from my workout just to tell me to put plates away for a machine that someone else used. apparently thats more of a dire concern. they only clean the gym once a day at night; the place is very unsanitary. the locker rooms always smell like mold and the showers are disgusting. the shower heads are always broken too. the reviewer that said that the people there only work out and dont pose is totally wrong; you must only go before 3 PM. a lot of the men and women that go there put on tons of makeup, cologne, perfume,etc.. the men are always flirting with them women and vice versa. there smell and makeup always stick on the benches/seats and its disgusting. possibly the worst part of this place is the parking. parking is god awful here. this tiny little parking lot is supposed to hold not only gym members but also the nova students that take classes here and the people that take zumba classes at night. if you come here from 8-9 you will have to park in some other parking lot that is some sketchy, dark shopping center. so ladies beware. so if youre looking for a cheap gym with terrible customer service, unsanitary equipment and locker rooms, annoying patrons, and terrible parking then come right in; its only $10 a month right? but please do yourself a favor and dish out the extra 10-20 dollars for a pretty good place like golds gym. i know for sure as soon as my contracts up, im going to run out with joy.

Today I went to cancel my membership because I moved not far but i prefer driving 2 miles less. First thing I noticed was the owner/manager I guess talking to someone on the phone and the only thing I heard was" do you want to cancel? Why?........customer talks then ..Olympus guy: Why you wanna cancel then customer.......olympus guy why why why why and he went crazy about the customer cancelling and hung up the phone. Then it was my turn since i preferred to go in person and get a written confirmation from the gym. I said Hi I need to cancel my membership please. Olympus guy said: And why you wanna cancel ...in a very rude manner...I sadi because I moved...He said: Where? I said here in Sterling a few miles away...and he replied so if you are in sterling why you wanna cancel. Then I said well because I would like to move to a closer one. then Olympus guy said well thats all you have to say that you are going to another gym...Very Mad... At that point since im very good handling sales pressure and tactics I said: Does it bother you my friend?? He replied of course it bothers me (Yelling at me) I said well it should bother you and you should not react and talk like that to the customer because you are losing your little cheap 9.99 monthly. He replied well I hate customers cancelling I hate when they are leaving. I said I work in the insurance and service business and if someone leaves I try to make the last sale (The comeback option) I always tell them well thank you for your business and if you ever think on Insurance and taxes you know you have a good option you ve using for years) SO I GAVE THIS NUT MAN AN ADVICE BUT HE SAID DONT WORRY IM GOOD IM JUST TRYING TO MAKE IT SO THEY STAY. WELL THAT IS NO THE WAY. SO IM NOT COMING BACK EVEN IF MEMBERSHIP IS GIFTED BECAUSE OF THIS HUMAN BEING SO UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE AND WITHOUT ANY SENSE OF BUSINESS. HE EVEN TRY TO JEOPARDIZE THE OTHER GYM I WAS GOING TO. HAHA WELL SALES TACTICS DONT WORK WITH ME SO I STILL CANCELLED AND HE HAD TO DO IT BY LAW.
