You know how you can never REALLY trust an auto repair store to tell you the truth? Everyone is always looking for a way to squeeze a couple extra hundred dollars out of you, right? Tysons Auto Services is the emphatic exception. After taking my car to the Tysons Honda dealership for a routine service inspection, I was told I had over $1,000 in upgrades and repairs that were necessary. I caught word of Tysons Auto Services from a work colleague, I took my car there for a second opinion. I was told there that it would only cost $200-$300, and that I was not putting myself in danger by not making the other "necessary" repairs. Since then I havent gone anywhere else, nor do I plan to -- even after moving from Tysons to South Riding. In a place where cost of living can take its toll on your wallet, its always good to have someone you can trust in the auto service industry. In Tom Ivey and Tysons Auto Services, you cannot do any better.

My daughter was visiting VA for work when her car decided to "blow-up" in her words. Ive done a lot of my own work so I had her send me pictures. Sure enough everything was covered in what appeared to be a brown liquid which I thought might be oil. Long story short I hopped on the web to find a local shop. TAS came up and was highly rated. I called and talked to Tom who assured me hed do what he could. I had my daughter limp the car to him at 2pm. That same day he called to say the car was fixed as it turned out to be a heater hose that blew out. He could have told me an oil line had blown and I would have had no choice but to take his word for it. In this day and age, an honest mechanic is about as rare as a REAL Sasquatch sighting. I wish I lived closer because hed surely get all my work. 100 thumbs up for honesty and integrity! Thanks Tom!

Long overdue, but here goes: My wife and I took our Honda Civic to Tysons Auto Service for brake problems earlier this year. Great experience! - Amazing customer service. Tom Ivey is a great person to work with, and he holds his staff to the highest standards. There was no one-size fits all approach -- Tom worked with us as if we were his only customers. - Great repairs. Problem solved, brakes work great! - Great cost. At least $250 cheaper than the Honda dealership across the road! - The extra mile. Since my wife dropped off the car, Tom personally drove her to Starbucks nearby so that she wouldnt have to wait at the repair station. Everybody talks about finding that one great mechanic they will ALWAYS go back to. Tom Ivey and Tysons Auto Specialties is that for me. Thanks, Tom!

Thanks to the entire crew at Tysons Auto Specialties.... The boss and owner was away, so I was interested to see if the level of service and customer concern would be any different that when the boss was there. True to form, they were expecting me on the day of my appointment, and even though I showed up a little late, because my ride arrangements werent working, they started on the vehicle right away. They found that I needed brake work on the front end, to pass the inspection and that was accomplished in time to get the inspections and emmissions done and now my care is running smoother and the brakes arent grabbing any more! Good job by the crew when the boss wasnt looking. Tysons Auto Specialties is a CLASS ACT!

I called to get wheel alignment and balancing but Tom and his staff worked to make sure that the root noise problem with my car was found and diagnosed. He could have just done the work I asked for which would not have solved my wheel bearing issue but he didnt AND he charged me NOTHING for the diagnostics (I didnt do the repair). I actually felt bad for my mechanic for once! This was my first visit so unless Tom is in for the long con Im convinced that he really puts his customers vehicles and satisfaction first. Please visit Tom! Itll be a real shame if this neighborhood mechanic is lost as tysons corner grows and all that are left are the unhelpful and expensive (volvo) dealers.

Good service and easy to work with. Tom, Richard, and their team really care about their customers. I recently had some tire replaced. The results were great and Richard made the process the simple for me. I really felt that they cared; they didnt just say it, they showed. My only constructive comment/suggestion would be if they could offer weekend and/or after hours. After hours time isnt a big criteria for me, but could be for some that arent as flexible with their work schedule. At the same time, they do offer rides to work if needed, so you could drop off your car early and catch a ride from them. Keep up the good work guys! Ill definitely be back!

I am pleased with the service they provide. In my first visit, the technician who received car (I forgot his name) from me immediately spotted that my car is low in oil even before opening bonnet and added a little bit without worrying if I will pay for it or not. Richard is one who worked on my car and replaced alternator. There was a hiccup which delayed car return but I wont blame it on them. The replacement alternator was bad one and it created unwanted vibration. I quickly find it after I got car back and return to them immediately and they were quick to confirm that there is something wrong with new alternator. They fixed it next day.

I met Tom a few months ago, and soon after made an emergency stop at Tysons Auto Services when I was nearby because of a large staple I discovered embedded in a tire. One of Toms mechanics immediately fixed the problem for me. That good experience motivated me to take my car back for regular service this month. The experience proved to me that Tysons Auto Services is worth every penny. I received excellent service, Tom and his staff showed they are professionals, and the cost of service was well below what I normally have to pay for similar service at the dealership. I highly recommend Tysons Auto Services.

I have used Tysons Auto Service now for the last 3 years for all my cars and have nothing but praise for the service, the honesty and help Ive gotten from them. They have asked me before they even started any work what my intentions were for the car. Did I want to keep it for a few more years or did I plan to do a trade-in soon. Based on that they then suggested the work that should get done. I NEVER had any auto mechanic ask me that before... What gets me when I read the earlier review is that it is all just a bunch of generalities and NOTHING specific at all. Shame on you! Gerhard B. Schwandt

I called this place based on the reviews and couldnt be any more satisfied with the service. Both Tom and Nick are very easy to work with and want to see you get the best. I needed my timing belt replaced but I wanted them to give it a once over as well because it is a newly purchased used vehicle. They called me with the inspection results and we talked parts, service and out the door prices; out the door prices are my favorite part. I told him what I wanted to move forward with and what I wanted to wait on, and he didnt push the issue. Based on this experience I will be coming back.
