At the worse, this business fails mandatory state inspections to prompt customers to pay ridiculous repair costs on things that are not even broken! At the best, this shop’s mechanics are incompetent and not willing to do actual repairs such as tightening loose screws! They failed my vehicle state inspection for the defroster not being hot enough and headlight being loose. They quoted $1,169 to repair these two issues. I tested my defroster and it worked fine. For the headlight, one of the screw heads in the assembly popped out of its plastic retainer causing one quarter of an inch of play in the headlight assembly. I noticed that by turning an adjustment screw the small bit of play would likely be gone. I returned to speak with the mechanic who inspected it. He could not explain how the defroster was working but wasn’t willing to pass it because the tiny movement in the headlight was a “serious safety hazard”. He said it caused the headlight to shine off the road (a ridiculous claim). I asked him to tighten the adjustment screw to see if that would bring it to his liking. He replied he was not comfortable trying that and the only thing he could do was order and replace the entire light assembly for $230. The managers refused to take a second look at my situation or admit to the insanity that was taking place. They stated it was out of their hands and they could do nothing for me but the repairs they quoted me. Sidestepping the responsibility of THEIR MECHANIC was a sign to me something was not right. The next day I tightened the adjustment screw in the headlight assembly, which did fix it, then took it to a different auto shop for inspection. It passed without a problem. The claim of there being a “safety issue” is a ridiculous excuse to try and make more money. Because of this experience I will no longer be taking my two vehicles to this location and I advise others to steer clear of this establishment.

I have had alot of issues with the customer service at this location. 1. last year I took my expedition in to have the inspection done and get the transmission flushed. In short I wasted $300 because I had to get a new transmission 2 months later. I took a 94 Toyota to this place to get the inspection done, it some issues and was rejected. Once all the repairs were completed I took it back. They told me it needed more repairs to pass inspection. Why didnt they find all this information out the first time? The final straw was when I took my expedition in to get inspected after a 500K trip and had no issues at all, they tell me that I need new lower ball joints $58 part at Napa, an upper left Ball joint $59 at Napa, and the parking brake needs to be repaired. I make all the necessary repairs, and guess what they say it wont pass inspection again because of the wheel hub is failing. If you ask me they are conartists. Their prices are outrageous and the parts do not cost as much as they charge for them. If their mechanics actually performed the inspections properly then you would know all that needs to be fixed the first time!!!! P.S. - All your fluids will need to be changed no matter if you just changed them the day before.

I have anxiety about anything car related since its both expensive and as a female, easily to be taken advantage of. I looked at the reviews on this place before deciding on somewhere to take my car for inspection and knew it had to be First Landing. I was impressed by the rating which is rare to find in the automotive world. I came in on the last day of the month which is always crazy for inspections, no appointment, and no time or way to leave the car. They were able to squeeze me in which I really appreciate since Im sure they didnt have much time. Unfortunately for me, my car failed inspection with a hefty legitimate repair. My motor mounts have been cracked for several years, so I know this to be true. So while my experience here was great, that bit of news was sorely taken. If I can find the money for the repair, I would likely go back to them to perform the work, regardless of others pricing, just due to the experience. They had a clean waiting area with a couple kids cars to play with, coffee, granola bars, and a TV. Impressed, just bummed I have to find a way to pay for this repair. Would love to see a coupon!

First I am military, so I am relatively new to the area. I do not know much about cars, but I am big on preventive care. However, since moving here, the auto repair shops in the VB area has scared me. I know everyone is trying to make a living, but I found found it unfair as to how some repair shops have ripped off innocent people of their hard earned money. However, I think this company is the real deal. I found them on Yelp. I called them, and was able to be seen right away. They even offer at a charge to tow your car from your place to theirs. When you walk in, they have magazines, coffee, and snacks to munch on while you wait to find out what is wrong with you car. I was too nervous to try anything. If it is something doable within a certain time frame, they let you know. They were nice enough to give me a ride back home (I live 7 minutes away) since my car need some extra TLC so i am not waiting. I have yet to get the full picture of the car issue, but I have a good feeling about this place. Hopefully, I have found my auto shop because I am tired of the running around. My body and wallet is exhausted.

I was driving through from florida on the way to maryland and I had forgotten to get my oil changed and fluids checked before I left so as soon as I had the chance I googled it and decided on First Landing. The service was friendly, they had the time to take my car right away and everyone was friendly. They even provided photos of everything when they came to tell me what was needed so that I could make a decision based on seeing not just being told. I loved that. I had the usual travel checkup and chose to change my air filter based on the photo. The price was reasonable, especially with delirious road trip me stumbling in and asking for the general works. The waiting area was comfortable and coffee/tea was provided, fresh. All in all I had a great experience, and even though Im an out of towner, I would take my car there again if I was in the area. Thanks guys and gals for the good experience in an otherwise hectic week.

Finding great and honest customer service in the auto repair business is not easy...I know that because Ive used many shops in the past. The people at First Landing Autocare were just fantastic. I went in to get the battery for my Prius checked and Ross was respectful and explained everything thoroughly. They also performed an oil change (which I had not scheduled) and changed my break light. I felt welcomed and left knowing that I had not been duped for something I didnt even need...which has happened at other shops (especially the Toyota dealer). I will definitely go back for additional services and I have already spread the word with people I know. The easiest way to gain new customers is to make them feel theyre valued and they have certainly done that with me. Thank you! P.s. They put candy and a thank you note on my car seat after they were done! How cool is that?? :-)
