I had my daughter at the Lake Powell La Petite and it was a terrible experience. The teachers were great. However the management was ridiculous. The director, Peggy Hammons, has no clue as to what is going on. She sits at the computer in the front all day and it is hard to tell what else she does. She doesnt know when the classes are out of ratio nor does she seem to care when they are over, She came in and told one of my daughters teachers to go home right in front of me. Her reason--there were not as many kids at the school that day and so someone had to leave. Meanwhile, my daughter was transitioning and needed to have that teacher (who was being sent home) to care for her. The teacher was unpaid and visibly upset to leave while my daughter was screaming for her (although she was professional and never said anything to me about it). The assistant director, is a hyper active loud woman who busts into the rooms, barks orders at the teachers, and doesnt care who is in the room or what is going on. The school would be much improved if these two people were removed. Again, there are great teachers at the school.

I came in a bit ago and toured the facility, Had several friends use and love La Petite in other locations, I have to say the staff was very sweet and answered all my questions.. however I was not impressed with the facility itself, it was not very clean to me and I saw a few kids in the toddler area with runny noses.. which is a concern to me as to why none of the teachers that were playing on the ground saw it. the toys and furniture were out dated/rough looking.. and I know things are still good 20 years later, but as a parent to a toddler I would prefer that 15 year grundge along the walls/corners/ and equipment deserve a good scrub and or paint..I know this seems like a picky post, but I dont need my child sneezing and or getting sick from the grime in there.. and I toured a few other facilities that were there for several years and were very very clean... again seemed like wonderful staff, and the girl in the front was beyond helpful doing her job.. good luck La Petite just think the money I would be paying I would just like a cleaner facility.

I actually worked at this location for around a year. It was between my time of student teaching and a public school contract, so I was looking for a place to grow. Looking back I can honestly say that it was an environment that cultivated growth for students and teachers alike. The directors and teachers each offered valuable lessons, and the greatest that I learned was that theres a difference between education and care-taking. All staff members I encountered cared for each child as their own, yet the curriculum were geared towards preparing them for a school environment. Staff always had primary concerns of safety and cleanliness, and were continuously updating and renewing. Thats something an older tour might have missed. Wonderful place for kids, and super fun too!

My daughter started going to La Petite at 3 months old. It was a hard decision to put her in daycare but my wife had just gotten a full time job. The director and teachers at the school made us feel comfortable leaving our daughter in their care. They were always happy to greet her in the morning and cheer her up if she was crying. Our daughter attended until she was a toddler and she loved the toddler program as well. She really enjoyed getting to go outside almost every day that the weather cooperated. A few months ago we started our daughter in Montessori, but we still choose La Petite for short term care when needed because we trust them and they do a great job helping children develop.

I have had my 2 1/2 year old at La Petite for close to a year now. We are so happy with the care that he receives while at the school. He goes full time, monday through friday, for the majority of the day, and it is such a blessing knowing he is somewhere safe and full of love and laughter. Even on mornings when drop off can lead to tears, a friendly teacher is always there to help and engage him in an activity of his interest. Often when I pick him up, I see teachers down on the same level as the kids, engaging them in table activities or other things. It makes me happy to know that the teachers are actually working with them and not just "babysitting."

Do not i repeat do not let your child go this particular facility La petite as a franchise is great but this CENTER not so much the workers are under trained the kids are always sick and my child was bitten by another child here THREE TIMES in THREE different places and no one could tell me what happened to him why? The teachers didnt see it so in other words they were not watching him and when I bought it to the directors attention the only thing he offered to do was retrain his teachers and btw still didnt get an accident report to this day .... so please save yourself the worry and dont let your child come here

I started taking my now 8-months old to La Petite Academy when he was 2-months old and I absolutely love their services. They take excellent care of him and do not hesitate to call me if there is a problem. The Director is very caring and even calls if he is out sick. The staff is wonderful and their customer service skills are exemplary. They always greet you when you walk through the door and make you feel welcome. I highly recommend this center to anyone needing childcare.

This center is amazing. I toured and fell in love. All of the students and teachers were engaged and the teachers were in control. I toured several centers in the area and did not always find this to be the case. It seems as if the directors certainly took the time to find the cream of the crop. Definitely enroll your child here. We are moving to the area soon and will enroll our child ASAP.

Not a great experience. I had my child out of there within a day. If youre going to treat the children like animals you should maybe employ a farmer to help you get the excrement off the floor. Disgusted.
