Ive been consistently disappointed in my experience at this location and will not go back there again. They lack professionalism and certainly care little for customer satisfaction. The large grey haired man with glasses has treated me poorly in the past. He tried to tell me my Altima was finished-- it was not worth fixing, however the car is still running 1 year later with a $200 investment. Today, I took the car in for an oil change and tire rotation. Figured they couldnt screw that up. When they went to check the milage they noticed my inspection was due. Good for them, but shame on me for allowing them to do my inspection. They failed me for my windshield wipers and tires. My tires are 3 months old. I had left the car there for many hours to do some shopping around town . They tried to call me but left no message and did not try again. So when I arrive, the tires are not back on yet and its not ready. After he showed me what he wanted to show me on the car, he said they would get the tires back on and have it ready asap. I pay. And I wait. And I wait. 15 minutes I watch the car sit there in the bay, ready to go but not moving out of the garage. There is no one in the office to explain to me what is taking so long, so I call them from my cell phone. Same grey haired fat man answers from the bay and says they are putting the rejection sticker on. Wow are they slow. At this point Im reasonably certain they are just dragging their feet and trying to make me wait. I am also reasonably certain that when I take my car to my trusted mechanic tomorrow morning, he will pass my car with no issue because there is nothing wrong with it. I dont recommend this place to anyone for any service whatsoever.

My advice: DO. NOT. USE. THIS. BUSINESS. I went into Hogan & Sons in Winchester on Monday, July 27th, to get my Va state inspection. The tech at the counter said it would be about an hour, which is what I expected, since it is the last week in July. After 2 hours, the tech came in and sat down with me and stated that I failed inspection, due to front brakes. He also stated that there were other issues that would total to more than $1300.00. What was suspicious to me was that the things he mentioned, were not the things to be inspected/on the inspection list. So, I told him to slap a rejection sticker on my car and I would be on my way. I got a copy of the list of things he told me were wrong with my car. I took my car and copy of the list to a good friend of mine who is a mechanic. When he pulled the front tires off to inspect and replace the brakes, he stated that it should not have failed. They were well within legal limits. He also checked the other things on my list and nothing was wrong with them. I went ahead and had him put on new brakes and rotors on the front anyway, since he had ordered them. He then finished my inspection. Total was $252.00. I think that this company is fleecing people and probably getting away with a lot of it. Even though I am a woman, I do know a few things about cars. I am filing a complaint with the BBB as well.

Very nice and thorough NEW staff!! After having a bad experience a couple years ago I decided to give it another try for my inspection. Surprisingly they had new staff that knew what they were doing. Harry Fake who greeted and helped me out and George (who has worked with Ford) both did amazing jobs! My mustang passed the inspection, even after I told them I thought my back brakes may need to be replaced soon they said it was all perfectly fine and to keep an eye on them- They didnt try and trick me into buying brakes when I didnt need them replaced. They even went out of their way to give me an estimate on things that may have to be done in the future, in order to keep my mustang in running condition, since my mustang in my baby! They did not pressure me into buying and getting the work done right away! it was more of a heads up and for future references. I really appreciated it! They are all kind and nice people there now. I dont think they will try and rip anyone off at all (unlike the pervious workers there who tried to tell me I needed $900 tires- I may be a young female but Im not stupid!) Thanks again Harry and George! Please give these guys another chance!

Dont go here for a car inspection! I went in for the annual car inspection expecting to be fine with my less than 5 year old car with no issues. They found $1000 worth of "work" that my car needed and definitely wanted to charge me top dollar for every bit of it. They saw a girl who knows nothing about cars and tried to take advantage of it. I curiously took it to another shop to get a second opinion and they couldnt understand why Hogans and Son was trying to sell me new brakes and rotors when the parts I had were barely worn. Yes, I needed new tires but I didnt need to be charged $160 a tire plus labor for my Prius. After all said and done I ended up spending a total of less than $400 for brand new tires, an alignment, and a couple random parts that I needed.

George was great to deal with. At summit point raceway for a track day. After the first session we had a emergency with the car. Called Hogan & Sons with exactly what we needed done. Not only did George say he could get this done, they have multiple master Subaru techs on hand...perfect. George got us in and out within 2 hours which is incredible for the last minute contact and having to get the parts needed for the repair. We only ended missing one session of the day. Extremely satisfied with George and his staff. Very professional and plus that George is a car enthusiast as well. Will be back without a doubt.

I scheduled an oil change appointment with them in advance, but it still took them an hour to even take my car in. After 20 mins, their head technician comes out to inform me that they cannot get my hood open to perform the oil change. I told him that he simply had to pull the wire to get it open, but he still couldnt, and he tells me that they could look take a look at the problem for $55, and further repairs would cost more. My brother opened the hood within 2 seconds when I got home. Either their technicians are unskilled or they just make up pathetic excuses to get money from you.

Got quoted on 4 tires (out-the-door price) but when I went to pay, they added 4 road-hazard charges of $22.50 per tire ($90.00 total). After I reminded them of the quote and told them that is why I chose them, they remove the charge. Prices for tires was OK, just a little higher than a non-chain tire store. I went to them because they had the Goodyear tires I needed and their quote was pretty much in line...until I went to pay. OK service...but "buyer beware" and make sure you get an definitive and absolute out-the-door quote. Hold them to it or they will add other charges.
