This is in response to the poor review... I came to this website to get there phone number to coordinate a job on Shaw Island from here in Olympia and couldnt help but to read the poor review. Being an electrician for over ten years and 8 of those where a service electrician specializing in remodels and retrofits, found the price for the job reasonable. I cant imagine there being a huge difference from pricing from Olympia to the Islands, but we charged $100.00 per can retrofit all day long. Plus adding a line from the panel would make it reasonable. It cracks me up when people complain about pricing... if its easy, anyone could do it. Plus if you get a good electrician (I cant attest to Friday Harbor Elec.) the money is worth it when you dont have to have a drywaller follow you... Just saying

We had ONE trained electrician come out and evaluate the job. It included running one line from the breaker box to the junction box which was approximately six feet away with plenty of good attic space. The goal was for installation of 6 spots and 2 switches. He ran three lines from that junction box bridged over to another junction box and ran three more lines. This was all in one room immediately adjacent to that breaker box 6 feet away. At the end of the first full day, the electrician told me that this job should have required two workers but they were busy and sent him alone. He returned with help to get it done in 1/2 day. Bill $731.00 for materials and labor for 6 spot lines. The homeowner installed the spots themselves.

I, remotely, asked Friday Harbor Electric to figure out why my elderly mothers shower valve was hot. Mom assured me, when I was visiting, that it was no big deal. Simply dont touch the valve when in the shower. Yikes! FH Electric was very responsive (went out right away), treated my mother, who has dementia, with respect and dignity, and fixed the problem. They got back to me letting me know the extent of the problem, and other, non-life threatening, issues they observed while making the repair. Its vendors and professionals such at FH Electric that allowed my mother to live independently for as long as she did. FH Electric exemplifies the Island Community.
