Oh Boy... I am new in the area and was looking for a place to get a trim. I didnt really know anyone so I went off the reviews here. I wont speak for the entire salon, as my experience is just with one stylist, Shyla. My appt was 10 mins late, but not a big deal, stuff happens. She was really nice and peppy, but when she got to cutting I knew this experience was a mistake. When I sat in her chair I told her the one thing I hate: Thin looking hair, less is more when it comes to cutting. I showed her three pictures of what I didnt like and two pictures of what I liked and explained what I did/didnt like. I asked her to slide cut my layers, that was where the big mistake was. Her shears were so dull she yanked my head back with every cut. Slide cutting is supposed to slide show the hair shaft giving you well blended layers without taking a lot of bulk, however, if you have dull shears, you just end up whacking off a chunk wherever you start cutting. After the first cut I sould have stopped her, but I didnt want to be overbearing, and hope she knew what she was doing. The result? I now have what amounts to a grown out mullet. I have a cicle of hair around my head that is about 5 inches long and then it drops to my length, about bra strap with NO blending. This is the WORST haircut I have ever had in my entire life. Of course there is nothing I can do about it now, so I ended up having to spend $200 on extensions to hide this hideousness. Im probably going to have to cut all my hair off because the layering is SO bad it cant be blended. I called the salon and told the owner about my experience, she was nice and apologized and promised to check in with me in a few days and offered to "Fix" my hair. Believe me, there is no fixing this. It looks like someone put my hair in a half up half down pony and then cut the ponytail off. Its been a couple weeks and I havent gotten a call, and honestly the only thing they could do is refund my money, which doesnt replace the last two years I spent growing my hair out. So to sum it up if you go here, DO NO LET SHYLA TOUCH YOUR HAIR UNLESS YOU LOVE MULLETS.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON! I am new to WA state and was overdue for a good highlight. My first visit to the Salon was decent, the only issue was that the toner was left in my hair too long leaving the highlights appearing dingy gray. Thankfully, it was an easy fix by applying a warmer toner. While the highlights were okay, Ive had better. To give them the benefit of the doubt, I returned for a second appt in which I wanted to go lighter. WHAT A DISASTER this appt turned into! To keep a long story short, I ended up with 2-3 inches of platinum bleached roots and 6-8 inches of regular highlights. The contrast looked RIDICULOUS! I went back to have it fixed, and it ended up looking unchanged, if not worse, than before. A third appt was scheduled for the next day to attempt correcting the awful color job again - but at that point I had lost ANY and ALL faith that these stylists even had the faintest clue of how to correct the issue at hand. In a panic, I ended up going to Kristlyn in Dupont who worked MAGIC on my tresses! The results were far better than I could have anticipated for a correction and I ended up leaving the salon with the color and style I had wanted all along. After being urged by the new salon to get a refund from Salon Prodigy for their sub-par work, I did just that. However, the owners informed me that they dont do refunds, we do corrections. I reminded them that I had already returned for 1 correction and that it had made things worse and that I was not comfortable with them attempting a 2nd correction. The owners then informed me that no refunds was their policy and that the staff at the salon had discussed my case last night and that they all agreed that it looked fine and that they didnt know what I was complaining about. Apparently their opinion of my hair trumps my own. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STEER CLEAR OF THIS SALON! THEY DO NOT HAVE A STRONG KNOWLEDGE IN TERMS OF COLORING AND CORRECTING!! The result you get is NOT worth the high prices they charge.

I started going to Salon Prodigy about 3 years ago. I came here on a whim from a referral from my massage Therapist. I would have to say that I have the most difficult hair to color and fix for it has some frizz when untamed as well as I am a natural Red head. I spoke to Rebecca G on the phone, and was assured that there would be no issue with my hair and that she can take care of it. The very first question was that I asked was if she was experienced enough to turn my red hair blonde, she did assure me that she could. This was a big factor in choosing the place that I would re-visit years and months down the line. I came to Rebecca, and at the time there was a bit of box color already in it, and I was worried. Rebecca did what she said that she would do, and she transformed my hard to color hair to blonde. No other places that I have visited could complete this task without damaging my hair more as well as turning my hair orange!!! I have seen this buisness grow and they have added more and more products to their line up. I first started coming here when the Salon Prodigy line was never there, and here it is 3 years later...only because of who they are and how successful they have become due to the types of service and repect that they gain over the years from Customers like me and others. This place has a upbeat and comfortable feeling. Each and every one that works there is super nice. They are very flexible with their scheduling as well as making sure that you are defiantly happy before you even leave the place. The prices are just about right, and they are willing to work with you to make sure that they can find a way that they can fit what you are looking for into your style. Even after I mess up my hair, They are able to fix it. Wonderful people, and Great establishment.

I am new to the area so I based my decision to go to this salon off of the reviews on Google. I called this morning and they got me in right away. They said I was going to be with a new girl but I was just getting a trim so I figured thats easy and anyone could do that. I get to the salon, tell the stylist (I believe her name is Jessica) what I want and she agrees, just a trim and a layer shape up. As shes cutting my hair she turns me away from the mirror and I feel her cutting more and more around my face. I look down in my lap and theres 2 1/2 inch pieces of hair being snipped. She blows it dry and it looks okay but as I leave and keep looking at my hair she has cut HUGE amount off of my layers so now my hair doesnt blend, and I look like Rachel from Friends circa the early 00s. I am devastated. My wedding is this december and theres no way my hair will grow 3" by then. I also put in my extensions that I paid $300 for to use on my wedding day and they dont blend. So now I will have to buy new ones or get them cut. This is easily the worst haircut Ive ever had, and my requests werent listened to. I am beyond upset and will never ever return to this salon.
