I would give this business a 0! I called Affordable Self Storage in Puyallup on June 5th inquiring about a storage unit price & availability and also a FREE U-Haul truck with a move-in tenant 30 days of when the paperwork is assigned. My confirmation was to be at the storage unit Saturday June 11th at 9am when they open. I walked in and was immediately told I had no reservation (even though I had a confirmation #) and that there is nothing she could do until I called on Monday and spoke to the manager Pat. I am a single mother with a daughter battling child cancer at Seattle Children’s Hospital. I was putting my property in your storage unit so I can permanently move to Seattle while my daughter is getting treatment there. The only reason why I chose this particular storage facility was for the free U-Haul truck, The lady at the front desk that morning was no help at all. Customer service was not used once. She said you can use it any time in your first 30 days of signing the tenant agreement. At that point I was in tears and frustrated. Got the storage unit looked for another U-Haul truck, finally finding one that was over $100 and getting as much of my belongings out of my house to the storage unit. I had thought based on the woman’s response that I would be able to get the truck at their facility for free in the next few days after I spoke to the manager Pat. On Monday June 12th I called and spoke to Pat. He told me that NO there is no free truck they let customers use. He said they will pay $19.95 towards a truck rental. First, that is the opposite of what is said on the storage facilities website. The first thing you see on that page is FREE truck upon move-in. Second, I have a handout that I received on Saturday when the woman was helping me that specifically says FREE 24 hour use for move in truck within 30 days of becoming a tenant. Pat then told me that even though it’s been said 3x at least between paperwork and the website that, it didn’t matter. They do not have that special. For a smart business man or manager I would think that if something is inaccurate you would want to fix the miscommunication asap. Referrals are everything nowadays and the business and falsely stating specials and/or free things is probably one of the worst things one can do. I am usually very passive but after speaking to Pat then looking at my paperwork then the website, I am just in shock that a company would misrepresent themselves such as this. SHAME ON YOU. I am not expecting a discount, a coupon, an apology. I will be spreading this news to any and all social media I can. The practices at this storage unit is appalling.

This Storage company is by far the most unprofessional company I have EVER dealt with in over 20 years. I have never received a billing statement, nor do they offer any kind of online bill-pay or billing reminders. If the payment is not made by the 5th of the month (5 days past the due-date) they will call and threaten foreclosure on the unit as well as charge compounding fees in excess of the original Unit cost! Fair Debt Collection Act states that a payment has to be 30 days past due for phone calls to be placed, and it also states that the first contact MUST be in writing. Also, when confronted about their business practices, they tend to use unprofessional language and hang up. Customer beware...

I first began renting a unit from Affordable Self Storage back in March. Everyone I have dealt with there has been very courteous and helpful. I have never had a problem with any rudeness or unprofessionalism as another reviewer did. Then again, I pay my bills on time so perhaps that has something to do with it. I would suggest this place to anyone who needs to store nearby. My unit is clean, water free, rodent free, etc. They also offer boxes and stuff to help you with moving/packing. They had the least expensive units in the area. - Doug

Terrible customer service, I rented a Uhaul for 2 days and because I wasnt there exactly when I said I would be there to pick it up they bumped my reservation even though I had already reserved the truck and put it on my credit card. What a bunch of idiots/ they didnt even call me to tell me they had cancelled my reservation and did nothing to help me find another truck.

Excellent service. Very nice gentleman. Very clean, very secure establishment. Extremely well managed. Rented in 5 minutes. Best company in town.
