First off this review is not about the service given. I have not hired them to do a job for me yet. This review is about there customer service and there availability of there estimator. I made a call to SME and the lady on the other end sounded and acted like she was not to happy to talk with me and it felt like she had better things to do. She was very cold and had no feeling. We had a miss communication problem from the start. Instead of try to understand my problem she just became more confused and angry with me. She did not want to help. To her credit she did stay on the phone. I explained my problem 3 or 4 times and finely she got what I was saying. The problem was the difference between there free estimates (advertise on the radio 570) and a simple problem(a light switch not working). My problem fell under the free estimates after much debate. When it came time to schedule my appointment she said it would have to be between 9am and noon. I asked if there were any other times and the lady said no! I asked if they only had one estimator. She said yes and he only does 9am - noon. Well I have to work from 8am - 5pm. I cant take off work in the mornings but in the late afternoon would be fine. This is a problem! What do I do? I think its very short sided for SME to only have 1 person who does estimates and with such a small time frame. When if the guy gets sick there whole business just shuts down? I think they need to hire another person to take the later shifts. SME says they want to have a relationship with the customers right? Well from there first contact on the phone I dont want to have anything to do with them. My first impression of the company. They are mean and dont really care about my problems and have better things to do than to help me. It seems like a screw you attitude. I would be stupid to get into a relationship with a person like that. BUYER BE WARE!

I will definitely be using these folks for future projects. I have worked with many electricians over the years as a small business owner and the electrician who came out from SME, Lex, was great! He came out the day before the project to assess my needs and ensure he would have all the supplies needed so no time would be wasted on the day I was scheduled. He was a great communicator and listened to our many complex needs and came up with budget friendly solutions for our company. The day of the project he worked fast and was very thorough. The person who answered the phone was also very polite and asked detailed questions to ensure we were on the same page. Very professional. Best experience with an electrician to date!

Over the last few months Ive had 3 electricians from different companies come and [failed to] help with a weird, intermittent problem. On a weekend, when we couldnt get any body to answer their phones, we got a hold of SME. We were dispatched a knowledgeable tech that show up that night. And even though it was raining, fixed the problem (which happened to be in the outside meter box / breaker). Where 3 others have failed, this tech found the problem and fixed it. I will be calling SME from now on. Theyre reliable, available, knowledgeable, and fast. Exactly what I wanted/needed.

First his company changed my appointment three times. The day they were suppose to come, he never showed up! I called SME and they said he was a bit behind on his first job. Ok. I understood this happens. Then they called an hour later to say the electrician had a doctors apt. for noon and couldnt make it till 3:30. I waited till 4. Then they called again to say that he couldnt make it at all that day! I wasted my whole day off waiting for him!! Would not recommend this company if you want someone dependable.

Technician will make necessary update to meet code requirement as this is a part of the job so be sure and understand that sometime a simple job may takes a little longer because of that reason. Company is charging you for each ½ hour so even if the service runs into additional 10 minutes be prepared to pay for full ½ hour. If you understand that part then you’ll be okay when your technician give you an invoice. Other than that I have no complain.

SME was very professional. They ensured that my work was performed efficiently and correctly. The job was a physically difficult and demanding one which they performed with good cheer and excellent communication. I expect to use their services again and would recommend them for commercial or residential work.
