I had the pleasure of working with Emma, Randy Thaut, and Eric Berg from Bickford Ford. I inquired about a used 2015 F350 I found online. Emma responded to my inquiry right away and set me up with Randy in sales. I liked the truck from what I could tell decided to fly up to Seattle to buy it. I was met at the airport by one of their drivers and taken to the dealership. I liked the truck, but it was not in the condition Randy had described. Over the phone Randy had expressed to me that if I were to go there in person he would be able to negotiate me a better deal. I asked him about lowering the price due to the scrapes/ missing paint on the vehicle, damaged running boards, and tear in the leather seat that was not mentioned over the phone or in the ad. He said no, and told me they would not move the price. I asked him for a ride back to the airport and he told me they would not be willing to do so. I was left stranded 40 miles from Seattle. He wouldnt even knock the price of the flight off of the sale price. Randy forced me to buy this vehicle. I went ahead and bought it as I had no other real option and the fact that these super dutys are hard to find. Eric worked very quickly and had me out of the place in about an hour. The only issue was that he collected almost $500 extra in fees. He would not let me license the vehicle in Oregon myself. Oregon did not accept their VIN inspection and I had to spend time getting it redone by Oregon DMV which delayed my registration. I didnt even get back to Oregon before the check engine light came on, along with a change oil light. I found out these guys didnt even change the oil before selling the vehicle. I emailed Emma and told her what had happened and asked for the service record of this vehicle. She never responded. I finally got it from Randy and found that they put down a running board repair too, but it was still damaged when I bought it. This shows that their service department does not actually do what they invoice. I was frustrated having to take my truck into the dealer right after I bought it. I was frustrated they sold me a truck that had not been serviced. I have been apart of the acquisition of over 20 Ford Vehicles from 5 different Ford dealerships. We run all Fords in our fleet at work and I was hoping to get a deal by going North this time. I would stay away from these guys. Their showroom is very outdated and the only way they can get people to it is by lying and setting low prices. How to they sell vehicles so low? They dont service their vehicles, invoice for false repairs, and lie about vehicle conditions. This is sad considering they have been in business so long. I tried reaching out to Emma to resolve these issues but he never would respond. I would look at any other Ford store for my next purchase. These guys were the worst by far. Randy is also a very rude person. I would not use him again if I ever have the displeasure of working with this dealership in the future. I was shocked to see Randy go home before I left the dealership. The only helpful thing he did before he left was tell me where to fuel it up since they didnt give me enough fuel to get home.

When we finally agreed we needed to replace our car we started looking at cars we liked, and the first thing we were concerned with was price, safety, and all other stuff. It ended up we liked the Ford Fusions, so I started looking and learned that they were out of our price range. I started a used car search and I saw an add for a 2015 fusion for around 15k and thought that was bogus, nevertheless I clicked on it. I read the fine print and with excitement we drove from Bellingham down to Bickford Ford. We never made an appointment, it was near years eve, I didnt really imagine it being real busy. I initially regretted that but somehow they managed to get a salesperson up to the front within a few minutes. We had Russ Sumpter working for us I told him about the add and what we were looking for, he located it for us and pulled the car around to the door. He went back inside for a little so we can view without him there, which was odd to me because usually sales people are hovering over us. During the drive, he talked about the car and its features, we dove into other random chatter, the part about Russ that made me really like him was the fact he wasnt being a salesman, he was more a like a nice person you meet at someones house. He never once tried "working that deal" business, he was very upfront, explained that the car is at a very low price and that is the price. He explained things about the car that isnt on the sheet outside, some of the history of how the car got to where it is, he was really great and helpful, zero pressure. We pulled in and we said well take that car he had sign a couple things and then he got us in line for the finance team. They sold 65 cars that day, we were in there for about 4 hours, in the afternoon. The finance manager was really great, he showed us products we could add into the car sale, a few he even discouraged us away from as he felt it was not for us. They even have a person that specifically goes over the technology inside of the car and how it works and his name is Matt Rice, the sync system and the computer it has, features, there is so much to learn about, he sits in the car covering it, as long as it takes if its 20 minutes or 3 hours he wont leave until you are comfortable. Bottom line, I went there expecting a traditional car lot environment, getting chased down by the fastest salesman and instead I really felt like it was a store with fast service, good courteous people, a nice comfortable environment. I had gone there dreading the process, i left quite happy and 10 days later I am still happy with no regrets or bad feelings. Ill never go and look at another car lot again, I will always do business at bickford.

"I want to be mad but they wont let me." That had to be the quote I used the most when explaining my truck buying experience to friends and family. Although an interesting experience it all ended positively. I found a truck online that peeked my interest at Bickford Ford and contacted sales. I was linked up with Erik Sundvor and the purchase was made. Unfortunately within the month it began having substantial electrical issues. To include the windshield wipers failing to come on while my wife was driving on the freeway. Erik was aware that I had two children and one on the way, and as I was explaining the issues I could tell he was genuinely concerned. I was advised to bring the truck back and that it would be fixed. In the meantime I was given a sweet 2015 f150 to drive in its replacement. To keep the story short the fix didnt take on my f150 two other times and the problems persisted. This was all over the course of about a month or so. Finally we decided that this trucks gremlins were not going to be fixed. Erik and I decided that a different truck would be the only way to go. He insisted that I didnt need to worry and that he would work tirelessly to find the "right truck" for my family and I. Again I was given a loaner that was nicer than my truck to begin with. As we found possible rigs that may have worked , Erik drove them down to seattle so I could keep them for a bit and test drive them. I literally told him that I wouldnt be offended if he had a lot attendant or someone to bring these trucks down so he could stay on the sales floor. That wasnt good enough for him and he continued to meet me in seattle. After quite some time ( I can be picky) We found the truck. 2013 f150 FX4 with the right miles and the RIGHT price. Once again I was met in seattle to sign the truck into my name. Ive had it for a couple of weeks and couldnt be happier. Erik went far above and beyond any expectations I had. Even with a really crappy situation, Erik helped keep me at ease and although at times I became frustrated, I never got stressed out. Erik wasnt just a great salesman but was an all around good dude. Not only will I check in with him next time Im in the market for a vehicle but I will suggest him to my friends and family. For the record Ive never written an online review for anyone or anything but with such a great experience with terrible circumstances I felt obligated.
