Ill start this off with the good: Just had my car in a couple days ago to get my frayed ground strap replaced. I brought my own part in and they only charged me for man-hours and "Hazardous Materials" (whatever that is). To break it down: - Repair was fast. - Repair was cheap (especially because I provided my own ground strap to be replaced). - The main customer service rep (or whatever the position is actually called) was knowledgeable and didnt try to goad me into getting more work done on my car than was necessary. If any of the above were not true, this would be a one-star review. Now for the bad: Due to the position of my ground strap, the throttle body and possibly some other nearby parts needed removing to open up enough space to get to the thing. This place, or rather the mechanic in charge of the job, DID NOT FULLY TIGHTEN THE THROTTLE BODY UPON COMPLETION. Luckily, this happened in the parking lot and not in traffic, though it could have in all likelihood, but this caused my car to uncontrollably speed forward even though my foot was entirely on the brakes! Admittedly, I do need to get those brakes replaced, but this happened after a DELAY, and I had just taken it back in because of strange behavior (difficult stops, oscillating throttle, etc). Anyone more stubborn than I probably would have just sat on the issue until it happened in traffic, or in front of a building, or at a crosswalk... Someone could have seriously been injured with a mistake like this, either I or whoever would have been in the "line of fire" at the time. Just because the replacement is simple and quick, does NOT mean that quality assurance should slip! Im giving this review two stars instead of a flat one, because I do have hope that this was a one-off, albeit terrible mistake. Im not going to call for anyones jobs on this, but I WILL demand that whoever was on this job be either retrained or at least supervised to make sure this NEVER happens again! Disclosure: I have also cross-posted this from the internal review sheet they emailed me. I dont THINK that automatically posts to G+, but apologies of my review shows up twice.

This place is a rip off! They will tell you one thing and do something completely different. They are not honest at all. I went there two weeks ago for an alignment. I was told that it is going to cost me $129 but if something is wrong they would charge me $60 for the inspection without doing the alignment itself. So after couple of hours they gave me the car and I paid $156 ($129 alignment, $11.69 Shop supply that doesnt make any sense to me, $1.50 Hazard materials that I guess comes out of my wheels?, and $13.60 sales tax ) but anyway I paid it in full without asking anything. When I got into my car I saw that the steering wheel was in the same position as it was before the alignment so I went inside to ask why! They told me my control arm on the left side needs to be replaced and they did not perform the alignment on that side! So I brought up their policy of checking the car first which would have cost me $60 and they agreed to do the second alignment (this time for the whole car) for $60 after I replace my control arm. So I went back last Friday to get the alignment done and they asked for the full price because they DONT REMEMBER agreeing to do it for $60! I have never been so obviously lied to in my life. Please read all reviews before making your mind. I wish you better luck than I had.

as usual, on my way to work, on a Friday morning, my van starts to act up. ( I have came to realize my van does not like going to work on Fridays :) ) I came back home and waited till Courtesy Auto opened and head up there. Bob and Doug got the van in right away and check it out. They tell me its ok to drive, BUT no ABS, no traction control helper. They ordered the part, and called me on Monday when it arrived. I took the van in later in the week to have it fixed, they text me when its done. I know that they fixed it right the first time, and that all the guys up there at Courtsey Auto are trustworty and knowledgeable. I trust all the crew at Courtsey Auto and have no problems having them repair either of our vans when needed. I also stop up just to ask questions about my vans if I dont understand something, and they never make me feel like oh shes just a women, we can tell her anything This is the best place I have ever taken my car, and will continue to go there.

I wish I could give Courtesy Auto Service and Tire of Tacoma 10 Stars! My husband and I have taken several vehicles to them over the past years and have found the trusted professionals we have been looking for. As small business owners ourselves, we have a great appreciation for trust, and quality customer service, work and products. Courtesy Auto provides crystal clear quotes, affordable services, and outstanding communication throughout the repair process. We have grown to know owner Scott Welsh via a number of business networking groups and appreciate his commitment to integrity in all that he does - a commitment that is shared by his key staff as well. We now need to replace the tires on our one ton dually and there is zero question on where we will be purchasing them! Thank you Courtesy Auto Service & Tire!

On the 13th of August i went and bought the "superworks" package. Since my transmission didnt shift correctly i had them check that too and the brakes. After a couple hours they presented me with an estimate, for the transmission about 5000.-- dollars (replacement) and they also told me all but one Caliper and the brake pads needed replacement, another aprox. 1900.-- dollars. I went to 2 other mechanics, one of them specialized in transmission rebuild and both told me the transmission needed to be replaced. Both also told me there was no problem with the calipers and/or brake pads. I got another estimate (i wont say names, since its not about publicity here...) and they gave me an estimate of 2000.-- dollars for the transmission. Transmission works perfectly now and i saved about 5000.-- dollars!

Mispelt my name on three separate occurrences, mistyped my number wrong on two separate occassions. Called and gave all information regarding my car ahead of time but when I got there it didnt even show that I had an appointment. Tried to tell me that my car had a problem where it didnt. Did oild change with tire rotation - confirmed that they completed the rotation but then found all my marks for the four tires untouched (I had marked all four tires differently) - after showing them they agreed to rotate them. but I will not go back there. Said they would charge $95 to check the codes for my engine light - something I can get for free at other places. Will try to convince you that your car has problems that it doesnt. Refrain from this place!!!!!

Seriously awesome place. Ive been coming here since I got my drivers license. Sooo... about 10 years now. Never had any issues, they always fixed everything the way they said they would, even gave me a ride back home on a couple occasions when the service was going to take all day. I only live a couple miles away, but hey that really helps at 8 am. Just great service, great staff, always know what I am getting, how much it costs, and they dont try to trick an upsell me, which is really nice. Of course there are friendly recommendations if I need tires or something like that, but they dont pound it into you if you dont purchase that right then and there. Oh and free wifi in the waiting room! So that is pretty cool too!
