DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would rate 0 stars if it were an option. Prepare to be taken to the cleaners at this place. Without notifying you prior to running diagnostics, they will charge you $99.00. This is a free service that can be done at Autozone or Oreileys. My boyfriend and I had been loyal customers to this place since we moved to Shorewood two years ago ($2,600 spent here) and normally would have recommended to all of our friends and neighbors, but now I definitely will not. When given an outrageous price quote, Eric the mechanic could not give a justifiable answer as to why I would be charged $298.00 for a job that takes 20 minutes and a part that costs maybe $20-30. His only response was that he didnt know and just follows the book. What? What book are you talking about? How vague is that? My advise to anyone looking to continue service or try for a first time, look elsewhere. They assume that they can charge whatever they want with the expectation that their customers are unintelligent enough to question it. My dad is a mechanic and if he lived closer he would be working on my car. My dad was outraged when I told him about this experience and the price to get the job done. The better business bureau needs to know about this place and I intend to inform them. Its highway robbery.

I called for an oil change appointment on Friday. They told me there would be no appointment needed if I brought my car in before noon on Saturday and they would have it done within the hour. I took it in and asked them if they could also replace my cabin air filter, which I provide. I waited for an hour, and they still hadnt pulled my car in, so I left and asked them to call me when it was ready. 3.5 hours later I called them and they said they were just pulling it in. I walked there, 10 minutes from my house and they were done with it when I walked up. They charged me $104, $38 for the oil change, $59 to replace the air filter I provided, and $5 shop charge. It was 2 screws to remove the filter! Midas did an oil change for $25 bucks with a 21 point inspection, checked that filter and said they would replace it for the cost of the filter since they already checked it which is when I should have replaced it. Midas even rotated my tires! Beyond upset with this place.

If you are looking for quick honest and professional repairs to be done to your car, you need look no further than LakeShore Mobile and more specifically "Dennis". I have taken both my 8 year old van and my husbands Mercedes here for repairs and have always been pleased by the work. Finding a mechanic you can trust is not easy, but I am so grateful to have found Dennis. I appreciate that Dennis takes the time to explain the problem to me ( and doesnt just assume that because I am a woman that I am incapable of understanding). There are many times I have taken my car in thinking I had a major problem only to find that it was something quite minor. Dennis could have told me anything and I would have no choice but to believe him. But far more often the problem is minor than anything major. Dennis looks for ways to save me money. I appreciate that and thats why I will not trust my cars and their maintenance to anyone but him.

I went to get gas there and my debit card was $5.00 short. Not a huge deal because I only live 6 blocks away, and I had some cash at home. I tried to just leave license as collateral and have my boyfriend drive me back. No dice. I offed to stay there while my boyfriend ran and got the money. "weve been burned too many times before" replied the skinny blond kid with a XL shirt tucked in, "its policy." I said, Really? cant we just work out a deal? "I can call the cops and they can come figure it out" over $5.00. Fine, I just walk home and get the damn money, leaving my car blocking the pump. THEN he wanted me to move my car. Luckily some guy talking to the manager (about towing, he ended up paying double what he should have or something) saw what was going on a spotted us 5$ and then followed us home so we could give him the rest. Thats the last 10$ that gas station is getting from me.

I have had my car worked on here several times, from a timing belt replacement to oil changes to recently a tune-up. Theyve always done a great job until the tune-up, where they did not test my fuel injectors. One ended up being faulty, and as a result I was stopped not far from here by a passerby who warned me I was leaking gas at an alarming rate. I made it back with just enough gas to park and handed the keys back. I got a call the next day and they admitted fault and covered all replacement costs under the repair warranty. I appreciate their honesty and, aside from this instance, general thoroughness. Staff are very friendly and give it to you straight, honored their quotes except once when it took too long to replace some components in the exhaust that had frozen over. If youre looking for a no-nonsense mechanic, I would recommend giving this place a try.

Our car was shuddering whenever we would accelerate. A mechanic friend in a different city said the problem sounded like faulty spark plugs. We took our car to Lakeshore Mobil and the mechanic did a diagnostic check on it. The check noted a faulty spark plug (like we thought), but instead of fixing that, he "fixed" a different part that he said was leaking and might be the problem. Close to $300 later, we drove away and got on the highway and the shuddering started again. We brought the car back to complain and now the mechanic wants $400 more to fix the spark plugs that he should have fixed in the first place! We would definitely not recommend this mechanic shop.

Most of the pumps were full and I pulled next to a pump that said full service. The gas was posted at regular price, so I pumped my gas and cleaned my windshield. After I pumped my gas, I noticed that they charged me an extra dollar per gallon. Then, I approached the attendant and told her about the situation. She said I would have pumped your gas for you. I said you didnt and didnt even try to. I told her it was not posted that it was an extra dollar per gallon and she said the sign must have fallen off. She was very rude, unapologetic, and refused to give me the extra dollar per gallon back.

I took my car there for what I was told would be a quick fix. I wanted to make sure the quote they gave me was correct so I called my dad, telling the mechanic Dennis that I would call him to give him the go at fixing my car. I called back 20 min later and told their clerk to go ahead and fix it. She told me to come by that night to pick it up. When I arrived, Dennis never seemed to have gotten the message. This was my fault however as he told me multiple times. I will never go back there.
