CANNOT BE TRUSTED WITH A SIMPLE OIL CHANGE! My wife stopped in to Firestone in Homer Glen (where shes gone for every oil change since they opened) for a simple oil change with my 3mo. old son today while running errands and left with a mess! After about 30 minutes in the waiting room she finally heard the sound of her car being started and thought "theyre finally done"....she was wrong. She took a look out the window to the garage to see the tech. throwing towels down all over the oil covering the floor that sprayed out from the car. Another 30 minutes later and she was finally notified the car was ready. The tech. said there was a problem with a gasket, after my wife asked him for more details he finally said there were 2 gaskets on the filter which caused out to spill out. What happened was this tech who we trust with our vehicle that drives our 3 month old son around and who supposedly is qualified to change oil and tires on cars all day long, never bothered to make sure the rubber gasket on the oil filter came off with the original filter and also didnt bother to look at the oil filter mount on the engine nor clean it before installing the new filter! Therefore, the new filter was installed on the filter mount with the 2nd gasket stuck on there and oil sprayed all over the place. They told my wife they cleaned it up and everything was good to go. Well, thankfully we dont live far because all the oil that sprayed out was now burning off the engine and smoke was emanating from under the hood and entering the passenger compartment with my 3mo old son in the back seat. My wife had to open the windows on this 19 degree day so they could breath. When my wife arrived home she explained to me what the tech told her and asked me to take a look at the car and that she has to leave the garage door open due to all the smoke. I took a look and had to run for some towels and oil pans as theres oil dripping on the garage floor from the bottom of the engine. I immediately called the manager of the store to find out why this was allowed to happened and to convey my sentiments. All he could tell me is if I wanted I could come back and they could try to clean it with degreaser.....why wasnt this done in the 1st place???? I have a car thats smoking so bad I cant drive it with the windows up, I have oil puddles all over the garage floor and a trail down my driveway and I should now waste my day driving back there so they can clean it again the way it was supposed to be cleaned, then come home to clean my garage floor and driveway? I shouldnt neglect to mention when I went out to double check the dipstick I found out its been overfilled! So now my Saturday is spent cleaning oil from my garage/driveway/undercarriage of the car and then pulling the oil pan drain plug to get the oil to the proper level. The tech also told my wife she needs new wiper blades (the Goodyear wiper blades on her car are 2 months old), and she also needs a new battery because "in the cold weather it might not start" (also something he never bothered to even look at as if he took 30 seconds to wipe the dirt from the label on the battery hed have seen the date on the battery and realized its only 1 year old and definitely not in need of replacement). So very disappointed.

Terrible experience! I went to Firestone for an oil change and tire rotation. Price: They charged me few dollars more than advertised price, it was already too late when by the time i checked the invoice. Service: Oil change-My car always get filled with 5 qts on oil change but i was topped up with 4 qts. Therefore, my oil is a little lower than average on the dip stick. The rookie technician didnt bother to wipe off dust/dirt before removing the oil cap and clean off the surface area. Tire rotation: My tires were way over pumped. The two tires on the right side were reading as 39 psi , and the other two were 37 and 38.5 psi. I always check them when i get home, so that was how i caught it. Fluids: They never top up any fluid, i did it on my own after. Report: Looks like Firestone doesnt hand over the inspection report to their customers.

All these type of stores have challenges...its really up the consumer to know what to ask, expect, and challenge anyone when seeking services. While there is no excuse for rudeness or communication skills that are lacking in customer service, I can tell you Ive been going to this sight for years and have always worked through the front desk folks like Mike and Stamp or others in the past and recd fair and equitable treatment, price adjustments, or discounts when reviewed or necessary. Ive been elsewhere non-locally and never achieved this goal...give em a shot and dont be afraid to request explanations or reviews of recommendations.

They are rude. Firestone blatantly overcharges for parts and service. They buy parts from the same places you can, so dont take their crap that they dont install "your" parts; they just charge you double what they pay for it from the same stores (Autozone, Oreilleys, Advance Auto Parts, etc). They bully people into sales and unjustifiably up-sell. They cannot be trusted. Find a local mechanic who can install your own parts and they will do so for nearly 1/3 the cost. This will save you a lot of money and the savings is far greater value than a warranty that Firestone does not stick by anyways.

I was treated with very little respect here. I called to make a reservation to have my brakes looked at, showed up first thing Saturday morning at my scheduled time. I spoke to the guy there who barked responses at me and they looked at my car for 5 min before telling me I needed new tires. Guess what firestone, I had purchased 60k mile tires from firestone a year prior, with only 20k miles on them. Did you even look at my brakes? Or did you just decide that since I was there I needed to buy new tires? STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Good Shop, Stamp, Mike & Team are honest with all my many services. Beyond standard services had a major transmission leak so had my car towed to the shop. Mike fixed it reasonably priced and handed me the compromised bolt that caused the leakage. I will return and return.

I agreed to pay $100 for them to diagnose a check engine light (which, I later learned, you should never pay someone to do). Fortunately, they fixed the problem (loose wire) and didnt charge me a cent.
