I will only take my VW beetle to Riverwest Automotive from now on. Jake repaired my beetle after someone changed the timing belt incorrectly and used the wrong bolts to hold the motor mount. Everything had collapsed forward, the motor mount bolts were sheared off inside the engine, and the engine could be seen between the tires. I am not someone who knows cars but obviously I know this is catastrophic. Jake did an amazing job fixing the mess. My car drives better now than it did before :) Jake is professional, honest, and a mechanic you can trust to do a good job at a reasonable price.

Jake provides killer service at a perfectly reasonable rate considering his niche knowledge and experience with VWs. If you are Milwaukee resident and unsure about what kind of car to get I would suggest a VW because you know there is an honest shop in town that can fix it right and not rake you over. Where other mechanics might be snide while listening to the client blathering about their car issue, he makes it a conversation or at least a legit attempt to interpret the blathering. I usually learn something after each visit. Hopefully I can get my car in this week for rotors.

Riverwest Automotive is a great place to go if you want honest, real service. Im very serious about my car. I purchase premium parts for it and take great pains to make sure my ride is at its best - and I prefer going to Riverwest Auto over Milwaukees VW dealerships. Ive caught dealerships trying to charge me inflated prices for minor service items. I go to Riverwest Auto because they dont play that game. An honest mechanic is hard to find and Jakes one of them. His prices are honest, his work is reliable, and the service is better than the VW dealerships in Milwaukee.

I begrudgingly give 2 stars because owner is super nice, honest and Id love to support a local shop, but this just isnt up to snuff. Brought my Mini in for brake job and AC not working. He replaced brakes but couldnt figure out how to reset the brake light. After a week of wrong parts coming in for the leaking AC he said I should go to the dealer to have it fixed. I brought it back to my normal mechanic who is farther away and they had it fixed no problem. I guess if you have a Mini in MKE go to Kummrow. Theyre pretty much the only Mini shop I trust in town.

Fell for the good reviews. Called to schedule an apointment. They texted me back, and I asked if Friday worked, was told yes. Friday comes and at 1pm tell them Im bringing it in. I am then told no my appointment was in the morning they dont have any thing till two weeks later. I then say no time was specified. Ok i understand this is a bit of a mistake on both ends. But if I say Friday ok, and you say yes most people will assume till you close on Friday. Then I text back ok, what time in two weeks? Never got a response back. Very unprofessional!

He really is the best, quickest, cheapest & hardest to get an appointment with for normal VW repair work. Sometimes he wont be available for several weeks. He is a one man shop and he is the king of that castle. You can take your car elsewhere and get in and out same day but if you want to know the work was done by the best VW guy in town, Jake is the guy.

Weve take all of our VWs and Audis to Jake for many years. I couldnt say enough positive things about him. He does great work, hes honest, provides great advice, and the prices are reasonable. We are lucky to have him in our community. Take your car to him, you wont be sorry. Highly recommended!!

Ive taken my cars to Riverwest Auto for years, starting when I received a recommendation from a close friend who is a mechanic by hobby. Jake is incredibly efficient and thorough, and even friendly. I wouldnt take my VW anywhere else, and I dont think you should either.

My wife and I wont bring our VWs anywhere but here. Jake is an honest, trustworthy and meticulite mechanic. He wont sell you on things you dont need and communicates well and keeps you updated throughout the process from start to finish.
