I will never come here again. my girlfriend and i when to pep boys after we had all 4 rims replaced with aftermarket ones because it was cheaper than to buy 2 factory rims after we (I) hit a pretty big pot hole. we went to pep boys because of a vibration when hitting 70mpg and up. they checked everything and said it was the tires on it. i was very clear with them that i did not want to buy tires if this was not going to fix the problem. they assured me that it was the problem. they put new tires on as well as a front and back end aliment requested by me. the called saying there was no vibration. we picked it up... nothing changed. talked to the manager about the issue and he said he would "make it right". we were then informed that it wasnt the tires but centering rings for the aftermarket rims. I told them i didnt want to pay for the tires. he walked me around to the old tires and showed me how 2 out of the 4 were past DOT spec. I ended up keeping the $600 tires and just asked for them to make sure they fixed it right. he said he would take care of it personally. so we get the centering rings they put it on we ask if the problem is fixed they say yes. go pick it up... not fixed. and then they say one of the hubs are messed up from someone over tightening the lug buts... at this point they were the only people to work on it and they were trying to get us to eat up the $511 cost... they ended up paying for that. at this point it has been 5 weeks total dealing with pep boys. we took it to VW dealership in Madison/Huntsville. they fixed it in a day. and said it was from a tire not being balanced properly and a baring not being properly put in (mainly the baring). the baring that you had to pull out to fix the hub. pep boys were incredibly rude twords the end and my girlfriend even herd people in the back ground when she called them saying "Im not talking to her, you talk to her" i guess we were annoying them for calling them about 2-3 times a week because we needed to talk to the manager about who was paying for the hub. it took 2 weeks for them to give an answer. and every time the manager was busy. even went up there personally when they said he was going to be there... of course he was not there. end of story i will never go there again. I hope this helps someone from getting ripped off like I did and spend 5 weeks to do it.

I visited the Pepboys in Athens, AL. Prior to going, to Pepboys, I was at the local dealership that priced me Front/Rear brakes and rotors that were VERY EXPENSIVE. ...... a neighbor of mine told me to check out Pepboys, so I did. When I arrived I was greeted immediately by a salesman Luis. I explained that my vehicle was making noise and actually shared the prior qoute (I had recieved from the other local dealership). My vehicle was taken in almost immediately as I was greeted. I had no appointment and was told I did not require one, even though the entire parking lot was full and there was no where to park, I was shocked!!!!!! After 30 minutes I was greeted by a gentleman Scott (Service Manager) that presented me a quote that was $487.00 cheaper then the dealership and informed me that I actually did not require Front Brakes but I only required Rear. He quoted only $148.00! This place could have easily beat the price by a few dollars and perhaps taken advantage of me but this never crossed their minds... I could tell by the way he presented the findings to me. I really want to share this will all Athens residents. I am a single mother of three (3) and I need every dollar I earn. I only expected to save few dollars and end up saving $487.00 ......who would of expected this?? I was amazed and I still am and I have shared this to so many people!!!! The young men here at this location are all so professional and so polite. I can not say enough about my experience other than if you are in need of service and or have vehicle needs this is by far the only option in my opinion! THIS PLACE IS ALWAYS SO BUSY AND I NOW KNOW WHY THEY ARE!!! Support this repair facility as we need them to stay so we all, in this community, have a honest and reputable place to bring our vehicle for years to come! Flores Family thanks you all!!

Big Ten Tire of Athens became Pep Boys after Don Kennermer sold his organization. Don was a friend and classmate and i enjoyed using his service. Ive bought tires, breaks and other repairs made but recently, have made the decision to never go back. We found a small oil leak, and Pep Boys offered my wife a solution of about $1200, giving her a long list of repairs needed. I decided to get a second opinion and the leak was tracked to ONE oil seal that was leaking. NOW, i question the last repairs they did for use but its clear to me, at least on this very disappointing experience they were trying to take advantage of my wife and my money. I will never trust them again, they were far more concerned on how much of my money they could stuff in their pockets than providing quality repairs and oh by the way...i had the repair done by a certified mechanic for $225, and that included an oil and filter change with Duralube. What Pep Boys did in this case is criminal. Next time it could be YOUR wife, YOUR daughter or YOU. Beware.

My overall experience was poor. I bought a set of BF Goodrich all-terrains from these guys because of the price they had going. I had an appt. at 10 AM on a Saturday. I was on time and dropped my truck off. About 2:30 I called to see if my vehicle was ready. They told me it was and that I could come pick it up. I arrived to pick it up and was told that it needed an alignment pretty bad. I asked why I wasnt told this on the phone previously and they said it was a miscommunication. They told me the alignment would take about 30 minutes. I had somewhere to be so I said I would pick it up before they closed at 7 PM. I did just that but I noticed the truck was pulling to the right really bad. I looked at my receipt and was not charged for an alignment, which is good considering there wasnt one done. Now I have to take my vehicle back up there to perform an alignment. It has been a hassle to work with this particular branch. If they hadnt had such a good deal on the tires I purchased, I would have gone somewhere else.

Outstanding service! I had issues with my clutch after stopping for lunch on my way home to Nashville. I called my wife to let her know and she contacted the local Pep Boys. Ive never dealt with them before, but after this experience they will be my "go to" for on the road auto issues. Everything from arranging the tow to repairing the vehicle was taken care of in less than 2 hours. Most of all, though, was how they handled the actual issue. Turns out all it needed was the clutch fluid topped off and the truck was good as new. They COULD have charged me with an expensive repair and I likely would have never known the difference. Total charge for their work? Just the tow... which was discounted 50% because I signed up for the Pep Boys Rewards program (Free!!). What an amazing crew and company. They turned a negative experience into a quite rewarding discovery!! (Kudos to 72 Towing as well... guy knew his stuff!)
