It used to be that Computer Rennaisance was the only place I would take my computer. However, the motherboard on my laptop died recently, and I took it in. That was over three weeks ago now. When I first dropped it off, they said it would take 3-5 days for the part to arrive, then a day, tops, to put it in. This sounded reasonable, since Id just helped my brother put in a motherboard a few weeks earlier and knew how straightforward it was. I agreed, dropped off my laptop, paid the downpayment, and left. A week later, I call back to check in on it, and Im told the piece has arrived and the repairman should get to it at any time. That was a week after Id dropped it off, going pretty good. When I didnt get any news, I called back on Friday to see what was going on. I was told that the repairman was running behind and that it would be done Monday at the absolute latest, and to wait for the call. Monday came. Nothing. Tuesday came. Nothing. Wednesday came, I called them, and was told, once again, to wait, and that this time, Friday would be the absolute latest. I still dont have my laptop, and Im pretty sick of absolute latests. If theyd at least been honest with me about how backed up they were, I would have been able to get a rental laptop, which I didnt do because the minumum rental period was a month. Dont I feel the fool. It goes without saying that Ill never go there again.

you know that feeling you get at car repair places where you know you are probably getting had but because you do not know sh** you, for the most part, have to allow yourself to get had? right. this is like the exact opposite. i had several ideas about fixing my laptop. my server suggested other ways to fix it, even said he could sell me a part and i could do it myself for $75 less. i say okay, then he goes ahead and puts the hard drive in for me, anyway, (letting me just handle the OS installation since i didnt have the disc with me) right there in front of me. what i thought would be a week at the very least took about 15-20 minutes. i now trust this guy and computer renaissance about as completely as i will ever trust any business. even tipped him and with a tight wallet, i do not normally do that kinda thing.

Havent used CR before, wasnt going to either. Tried to give it the benefit of the doubt considering the reviews. But as mentioned, they are the least helpful. I wouldnt have called, if I was going to bring in my PC. All I wanted was some information. and possibly buy some RAM memory. Im pretty knowledgeable about computers, but this guy acted as if I were a child. My phone call consisted of, "hah bring it in, Ill tell ya what you dont know and what you are going to have to buy from us" #lame.

these guys are rude and disrespectful, very unprofessional they will send you out the door with your crap busted, all along telling you its repaired .go there at your own risk one of the only shops in town that will charge you a diagnostic fee just for turning a screw is what they call it and the receptionist says " my guys do not work for free their times is worth money even if they dont repair it they still touched it " no one works for free, her words over the phone !!!!!

I purchased a refurbished desktop from CR the 3rd week of September. It crashed and burned in one month. Im pretty knowledgable about computers so I reinstalled the operating system got it up and running again. It crashed 4 days later. The management is not trustworthy. I only went there to support small business - however there is no service after the sale. DO PURCHASE A REFURBISHED COMPUTER FROM THEM - YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!

I have dealt with CR for years and will go nowhere else. They have always been kind and patient; they treat me with respect, even though, or maybe because, I know so little about computers. They have done numerous repairs on several computers for me, installed software, transferred data, etc. NEVER a problem with anything they have done. They have talked me through numerous issues, frequently at no charge. I give them 5 stars.

As a computer guy who needed a spare part (and understands whats going on), I had the chance to listen in on one of the employees as he helped another customer. Theyre very honest and patient with their customers. They give genuine solutions to peoples tech problems, and explain it to customers in a way they can understand. Definitely come here before Best Buy, and you wont be disappointed.

Under new management; the existing GM has been there for a couple of months and has really turned the place around. Ive done business with them on behalf of the State and for personal computer equipment and I havent been disappointed. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and competitively priced (under the new management, that is). Recommended.

My grandmother went to buy a 775 Socket cpu fan. She returned from this store with a used part covered in dust. She is 71 and doesnt know computer part and was never told it was used. When I called up there and asked about it, they could have cared less.

I call and ask about updating from Window Vista to Windows 7. I was quoted 150.00 for the program and 150.00 to install. LIKE REALLY?!? Thats Windows 8 online price. And 150.00 to put a disk in a drive.

The only people that know what an AUC cable is for an Avalon 6 outside of China. It just so happens that its the Chinese New Year and everything is closed. Awesome people at PC Renaissance!
