Wilhelm in Surprise, is MUCH cloer to my home with a Wilhelm also in Surprise (*hint: I live in Surprise, AZ) , Want to know why.??? Ill tell you the outcome of a meeting I want to set up between myself and the Manager at the Surprse shop (which, by the way, diid a stellar jov of flushing my radiator and then adding a chemical, along with Dexron coolant (the red rrathar than the green coolant). But I wanted distrilled water (cuts down the s**t water you get from the various water towers you may have noticed). The Manager of the Surprise shop told me the Dexron coolant they have is a 50/50 factory mix of coolant and distilled water. Bottom line: My temp guage used to hover around 1/2. The outcome of the flush was a temp guage that rarely surpassed the 1/4 mark, Only in stop and go traffic did the needle hover on the 1/2 mark but never more than that,. So cheers to the Surprise store for a job well done! Ok, now I need to rate the Grand Ave store in Peoria. I had 2 codes that Wilhelm in Surprise had reported but due to cost, I could not authorize them to fix it. The next month when I took my car to Wilhelm Peoria (Grand Ave), I had enough $$$ to fix the problems. The first code was a transmission code. So I took it to the best transmission shop in the valley, Tony;s 5-star transmissions (up 96th ave and Peoria. They offer a 2-YEAR / 24,000 mi warranty! Tony not only fixed the transmission related problem but also replaced all my shift solenoids because SOMETIMES, at high speed (55 MPH or more) on the freeway, my transmission will appear to shift to neutral. If Im using cruise control, my tach will rapidly rise because its slowing down and the cruise control is trying to restore the speed;. I nearly redlined the tach before braking and turning off cruise control. But it;s an intermittent problem so impossible to track. Unfortunately, the problem remains; and since it does NOT throw a code, replacement of the shift solenoids is the correct "second step" (first being a transmission fluiid AND filter change). Then I took the car back to Wilhelm on Grand & Peoria and they fixed the other codes, one of them being emissions-related (code P0443), They changed out the entire PCV Valve which was the correct fix, but they could not clear the code. So Lee at Wilhelm told me I would have to bring it back to change out my PCM (the computer itself) After about a month, the code went from INT (intermittent) to OK. So now, other than the Gremlin in my transmission, my car runs like new. Expect that from Wilhelm Grand Ave. Theyll have you up and running in no time, and at a very reasonable cost.

We have been going to wilhelm auto since 2004 and never anywhere since ! Our whole family only takes their cars to Wilhelm and we constantly recommend them to other friends The wilhelm team does wonderful car surgery ! Keep us up to date as what car repair will be needed soon, and what is needed asap. Wilhelm auto doesnt feel like a regular car place, they feel like family ! As a woman Im not intimidated ever ! I love waiting while getting an oil change and chatting with cindy and the guys in front office ! If you dont feel the same where you are going omg your missing out ! I hope you will consider giving your car a new doctor appointment and yourself a friendly relaxing environment ! You will never pay more for anything that you do not NEED. And did i mention Wilhelm mails out great coupons and also each year helps with donations for animals and other charities ! Also, buying a car but just not sure ? Take it to wilhelm for a look over, they are certified! As you can see, I just cannot say enough good things about Wilhelm I will not take my car anywhere else ! JoAnn Fry

Road trip from Cali to Sedona and our tires needed a rotation. Found this place on a whim and through positive yelp reviews, stopped by. They took us right in, and did the work and got our vehicle back to us in under a half hour, if that. The service was excellent, nice workers, very clean facility and bathrooms. Its nice to see a family-owned business run well. You can tell the owners and employees take pride in their business and customer service!! To comment on the shop/waiting lounge, its a very comfortable, welcoming lounge, and sports the original mac book pro computer (hehe) on display, as well as other neat wall displays, and vintage antique items. The bathroom was also immaculately kept, nice that it was clean and well stocked. This business isnt your typical tire center, and we enjoyed (albeit short) our stop there. Thank you for taking care of us and sending us on our way quickly!!! And by the way, they didnt charge us to have our tires rotated...who does that!? Two thumbs up, A++, if we ever have car issues driving through the area again, wed stop here hands down!!

For years I have gone there and encouraged my friends and family to do the same...always a little more expensive but always quality work, done on time. But my last few experiences has me not going anymore. Water pump that started leaking right after warranty expired, they argued with me then finally agreed to replace the pump but charge me the labor. The pump was the cheap part. Then had a window lift repaired and they didnt secure the auto door lock lever, the mechanic fixed it but acted as if it was my fault that he went to fast. It fell off a few days later. Finally my wife took her car in for a leak that we couldnt see due to a rubber pan that covered the front of the engine from below. They put in a new radiator and didnt put the huge cover back. Said it was never there....argued again with me as I explained it was there or I could have seen the leak......something has changed and not for the good in my opinion

We were having major problems with a Kia Sedona. Another automotive shop said that all three catalytic converters would have to be replaced. That shop quoted a ridiculous amount that surpassed the value of the vehicle to repair it! Thankfully, we had the Kia towed to Wilhelm Automotive. They diagnosed the problem, quoted a price that was much, much less, and repaired the vehicle. By the way, the problem was not the catalytic converters. The problem was the timing belt. Wilhelm Automotive saved us a ton of money. They may not be the cheapest of all the auto repair shops, but you get what you pay for. We will not hesitate to take our vehicles to Wilhelm when they need repair, and we highly recommend them based on their knowledge and professionalism. And thank you, John!

Ive been bringing my two vehicles to Wilhelms for many years: a 2000 Ford E-150 conversion van and a 2004 Lincoln Town Car. I wouldnt take my vehicles anywhere else. Both are high mileage vehicles, 130 K on the van and 172 K on the Town Car. Not only do they fix what I know is wrong but they often find things that would give me trouble in the future. And they stand by their work. My most recent visit in early February 2017 was for an oil/filter change and a washer light. I thought I remembered a washer problem in 2015. They checked the records, and sure enough, they had fixed the washer then. They replaced the whole unit free of charge under their warranty. You cant beat the service, and the staff are all friendly, accommodating and helpful.
