I was a member of the Village for about two years. The gym is nice but they do not cater to a professional working person at all. The latest evening class is 6 pm which unless you have job where you get off at exactly 5 pm it makes it really hard to get to any group exerciese class. Then you find a class that you like and make an effort to get there at 6 pm only to find out that half the time it is a substitute instructor and the class is nothing like the format with the regular instructor --- Ballet Barre taught by someone with no experience so you do basic PE gym exercises for an hour! The primary reason we joined was for the tennis. I played at Camelback for a while but the leagues are riduculous. Half the time your opponent never shows up and then the rating levels are non-exisistent. What would be a 2.5 in other cities is a 4.0. The tournaments were good for a while but then participation really dropped. Probably due to the poor planning -- mulitiple revisions to the draw, etc. The tennis center at DC Ranch is a joke --- no players, well at least not in the evening, once again the lack of attention to working professionals. The tennis pros are not friendly and do not engage with the tennis players. Also the clinics are twice the price of those at the Camelback Club. When this is pointed out the response is that they are competitive and not too expensive. I dont know any one that wants to pay $30 for a drop-in clinic. If people actually went the tennis pro would be making a killing, I guess they are just greedy. I also went to one clinic and saw a couple, definitely not worth what they are charging but maybe my expectations are just high having been to several of the top tennis camps and resorts in the US and receive better instruction for a lower hourly rate! The cafe at DC Ranch has also gone way downhill. They had a really good chef who left and since the food is really meh and adding on top is the bad service of the counterhelp. If you dont work, this may be a good club for you but if you work a normal professional job (8 to 5) not a good club at all.

We have been members at Gainey, Camelback and DC Ranch for several years. We have not experienced any issues with Gainey or Camelback; we are cancelling our family membership due to extremely poor member service at DC Ranch. In the span of approximately 8 months, we have had unauthorized charges on our account, rude/inaccurate comments placed on our account and accusatory calls from the child care area, and more. When we inquired about the unauthorized charges on the account, it was fixed within a few weeks, but without any acknowledgement, no apology, nothing. Same thing with the issues from the Child Care area. No acknowledgement, no apology, nothing. When we shared our frustration, again, there was no apology, no acknowledgement. At that point, we decided to cancel our membership. We did so on August 17 and have yet to receive any acknowledgement of our cancellation. Extremely unprofessional. If you are looking to pay hundreds of dollars a month to be treated like just a number, this is the place!

We have been members since opening 12+ years ago. If you are looking for an economical gym, go elsewhere. This is a country club experience with EVERYTHING you could imagine in one stop. The professional trainers are top notch. Spa is great. providing mountain bikes and helmets ready to use is a neat touch. day care for Kids is well run and terribly convenient. I have some quibbles but not enough to reduce the rating (should open earlier on Saturdays, inconsistent quality and variety from café but this has improved a great deal in the last year).

Best health club Ive ever joined. Its actually more resort like than the typical vanilla health club. The facilities are awesome. There are over 100 classes weekly, the restaurant serves good food, the pools and surroundings ding are beautiful, the member events are fun. Plus check out the little clothing store for cute stuff at reasonable prices.

The Village at DC Ranch is one of the nicest gyms in the entire valley! The staff is always accommodating and always helpful! The Health Club and Spa never dissapoint, cant say Ive gone to a Health Club and expected restaurant style service at their cafe, the cafe has never disappointed.
