I did enjoy being able to pick from 3 different scented oils & to pick the music I listened to during the massage- but had to request a more vigorous massage as it just felt like my back was being rubbed not massaged. I get massages done regularly and this was was a little light- but he responded to suggestion. I also thought the foot moisture treatment was a nice touch. I was a bit dissapointed to learn that access to the Salt room was an additional charge & not included in the package. However the tranquility of the mineral spa and the outdoor hot tub were very relaxing. I also enjoyed the sauna & the steam room and thought the provided shampoo, conditioner, brush & hair dryers were a good perk. The provided slippers & robe were also nice as I didnt have to worry about drying my shoes before getting back on the plane. (Be careful- theirs are slippery) The abundance of ice waters for refresment and to keep us hydrated & light snacks were also most welcomed and kept us energized throughout the process. I dont believe i would pay full price- i expected more from the massage- but the discounted groupon rate was good for the experience.

While my massage was wonderful, the rest of my day fell far short of relaxing. My locker broke and I couldnt get into it for a while until they called someone in from engineering. I had to clean off the lounge chairs by the pool for a seat - there were many chairs covered and towels and dishes but no one was tending to them. I waited for at least a half hour for a server to come by - I finally asked someone for assistance. The chips & guacamole I ordered took 45 minutes to arrive. The outdoor shower was awful - it was supposed to be a rain shower but the water was piercingly hard coming out of the shower head and the shower stall smelled like cat urine. While waiting to check out, there was loud construction noise from work being done in the mens locker room. It was well before closing time so I cant imagine what the men using that locker room were dealing with. Never going back.

The spa is amazing! Very beautiful and relaxing. The grounds and amenities you have access to make it a great value. Service was amazing, very little waiting for what you need. My only criticism is my masseuse- I have her name but I dont want to call her out- she gave a great massage but she talked to me the entire time. I wanted to relax and zone out but instead I was keeping up a long conversation with her and having to listen and respond, which I did not want to do. At the end of my massage I felt OK but not rested or rejuvenated. If I ever return I will request a non talking massage. Do the same! Ps masseuses need to assume that the person lying on the table does not want to chat, and should try to avoid talking to them. If the person on the table wants to talk they will start a conversation.

Really enjoyed a relaxing spa day with my daughter. We were warmly greeted and promptly escorted to the spa for a brief tour, given our locker, robe and sandals and could relax for a few minutes before our scheduled massages. The relaxation room had an assortment of teas and nibbles. Our massages were excellent- Ron listened to wear I needed work and got my knots out. Afterwards, my daughter and I ordered lunch (the only disappointment was it was a prepackaged box lunch and not great) but it came quickly and we ate it beside the outdoor mineral pool. The mineral pool was delightful. We used the showers which had an array of jets and the Avania branded shampoo/conditioner and soaps which were pleasant. All in all we had a wonderful couple of hours and would definitely recommend and return.

Over all experience was very good. Massage was 5 star. Oils and heated massage table. Choice of music and lighting a welcomed touch. The indoor shower was not cleared of glasses or towels of previous guests and the jets where not working properly. While showering one can easily be seen by passerby. The outdoor shower stalls where a very freeing and Zen experience but could use some sprucing up. The mineral pool - what more needs to be said. Beautiful skies above, warm healing swirls of water caressing tired muscle. The steam room was well maintained and fabulous. Towels were clean and plentiful, robes a bit big and awkward but nice, and beverage well stocked. I would return.

From the moment I walked through the doors, I could feel the sense of relaxation and comfort. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive during my visit. My massage was incredible! The facility is impeccably maintained. The mineral pool is something everyone should experience. And I love how you can get lunch right by the pool. This is a Spa where you want to come in a couple of hours before your service and stay a couple hours after. If I lived in Scottsdale, this would be a place Id visit regularly. I will highly recommend Spa Avania to everyone living in and visiting the Scottsdale area.

Had the very best 90-minute swedish massage ever! This facility was beautifully appointed and totally relaxing. The setting and appointments are gorgeous, classy and refined. Brandon, my masseur, provided an excellent service. For 18 months, I have suffered sciatic leg pain 24/7. After my treatment with Brandon, I walked out with no pain whatsoever in my legs! Hes a miracle worker! Thank you, Brandon! If ever I am back in The Phoenix area, I hope to return to this facility and to the hotel. It feels like you have entered another world ........true tranquility!

I purchased a Travelzoo and received an excellent massage from Sabrina! I suggest leaving a little extra tip if youre happy with your treatment when using a travelzoo! I love the peaceful pool area, great spot to take a nap. The front desk staff/reservations very professional and thoughtful, I was there to celebrate for a bachelorette and we were each given mineral salts and chocolate truffles. Such a nice surprise. I will definitely go back next time Im in Arizona.

The best spa treatments Ive ever had! Spa staff was courteous, attentive and timely. Facial was throughly relaxing and left me feeling renewed. Citrus wrap was equally divine! Swedish massage was adjusted perfectly to my level of pressure, creating a therapeutic and relaxing experience. My one regret was not allowing more time for myself to enjoy the clean, serene beautiful amenities and environment prior or post treatments. I definitely will next time!

This spa experience was absolutely fantastic! The massage was relaxing and comfortable. The steam and sauna were perfect. They delivered a delicious lunch to the relaxation area. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The spa areas were attractive and comfortable. There were tea, cold drinks and snacks available. Unfortunately , it was raining, so I didnt get to use the outdoor areas and pool, which looked beautiful from inside.

I love this place, I have been to Spa Avania about 5 or 6 times and it never disappointing. The atmosphere is so calming and welcoming. I always feel pampered and well taken care of here. The masseuses are very skilled and talented, they are worth every penny of the price. I highly recommend the 90 hot rock massage, really any 90 massage. I have never tried the salon, but the mineral pool and all other amenities are superb.
