Ultimately, this place is not any better than any other medium upscale salons. I went to this place because Yelp had fantastic reviews and thought I should give it a try. My hair is short and brown. Hits right on top the shoulder. My past cuts have been everything I seem to not ask for. Blended layers that make my hair poof and round out on the bottom. I always say I do not want this and end up getting this anyways. This is frustrating and had not had a good hair experience in years. I usually end up having two or three hairstylist to help fix the other one hoping one of them would listen. Well, I called to make an appointment. I was specific in asking for a stylist who has creative imagination and an all over color to hide the highlights. The girl taking my call seemed bubbly and young. There was some slowness with the computer to locate an open appt time. After a few minutes, I made an appt with Haylie. The appt was nearly two weeks later. When the day came, I tried not to expect too much but inside I hope this will be the right stylists for me. I arrived on time. The salon looks like any other nice salon. A short while after, my hair was being washed by one of the shampoo girls. At this moment, I knew the booking was done incorrectly and had one of those feelings like this was a bad idea. While my hair was being washed, there was extra towel laid under my neck and a support box in the sink so my neck didnt strain. The person washing my hair was gentle and didnt stick her nails in my scalp nor firmly dig in while smothering product in my hair. This was the best part. Afterwards, I met Haylie. she was still working with another client when I arrived. Haylie was nice and sweet but not the right personality for me. Her first question was the one I dreaded. What are we doing today? Knew she didnt have much creativity because hair stylists with not much experience ask that to start off. I should have just walked away but a small part of me was optimistic. She tried to make small talk but the connection wasnt there. She cut my hair offering to give more defined layers to be seen. Showed her some pics fro. Pinterest of the styles I liked and she seemed to understand. Did I get the look I wanted. No. Instead, I feel like I went back to 10 years ago. Nothing like what I asked for and certainly not even a tad bit of the styles I have shown. However, not that pleased with the cut, I pretended I was because I didnt want more hair cut off. When she asked how I would my hair styled, I knew she wanted to round brush it. Ugh... I hate round brush styling. It ALWAYS poofs out rounded on the ends. I asked what my options were and she mentioned a wave. I went with that. The only good part about the waves was it didnt come out wispy at the ends. But it was styled awful as it didnt match my face. I left wanting to cry but told myself maybe I can style my hair better. After a nearly two weeks, I cant do anything to look nice. Straighten or add my own waves. I have this chunky, funky cut on my left side where it looks like that chunk was grabbed and a straight line was cut. Doesnt flow with the rest. Oh, that rounded look, its still there. When I did have great hair cuts, this was not an issue but it seems like all these stylists learned the same way nowadays. Now, I wear a headband like little school children or pin the top part back in a Bobby pin. certainly not a look for a person in their 30s. So there you have it. The booking for the appt didnt happen correctly and I got a haircut that once again, I must let it grow out for months and try a new place. Would go to another stylist but my hair is too short now. So take those reviews with great experiences with a grain of salt. No one was up front when I arrived.

David has been the premiere colorist in the metro Phoenix area over a decade. I have been his client for at least 10 years and I have never had any complaints just . beautiful highlights, coloring ... a true artist. I was thrilled when they opened the new location so close to me, as I had been driving across town, but hes worth it. Im new to Frank, but hes also amazing. Certainly no complaints from me!! Their salon is well lit, modern, immaculate and easily accessible with parking a few steps away. I dont understand how easily I can get appointments when I need to, but somehow they always seem to make it work, no matter how little of a window of time I have. Its truly rare to find the combination of talent, excellent customer service and affordability in this industry ~ and they have it.

I am so happy to have found David & Frank Salon! I am very low maintenance when it comes to highlighting my hair and absolutely love how my highlights grow out so naturally when David colors my hair. David manages to give me full body highlights that grow out naturally with unnoticeable roots! I get compliments on my hair color even after the highlights have grown out! I also love how Frank cuts my hair. He is honest about how much I should cut off to make it look its best and he is always right! My hair is healthier and better looking than it has ever been. I get lots of compliments and always feel amazing leaving the salon! Thanks to David and Frank! They come highly recommended by me!

David and Frank are perfect geniuses. I left their salon with the absolute perfect color and cut Ive ever had in my entire life, and Ive been getting my hair done at high-end salons for 13 years now. In fact, Im so picky and impossible to please that never before have I been 100% happy with both a color and cut upon leaving....until I met David and Frank. They take the time to talk to you and figure out what you like and dont like, how you style your hair, what products you use, etc. And then they work their incredible skill. On top of it all, theyre pleasant to talk too and the salon has a comfortable ambiance, but most of all its their artistry that speaks for itself.

Excellent 5☆ haircut with Frank after a 5☆ wash that exceeds experiences at high cost salons (Manhattan, Phx, Scottsdale). David Frank is a relaxing, comfortable, well-managed salon whose reputation relies on expertise of cuts/color (Frank/David respectively). I appreciate the absence of up-selling of services or products either before or after my services were performed (although I asked if a keratin treatment was needed, but assistant explained the reasons why my hair didnt need it - much appreciated). Here, you will find focused, expert service, not glitzy hype.

Haley is excellent - she has been by stylist for many years now and shes on point every time. My best experience with her was when she did my up-do for my wedding. We did several trials and the up-do I ended up having her do was stunning and stayed perfectly my entire wedding day! My hair is heavy, fine, and hard to deal with and she made it perfect. Additionally, David is an amazing color specialist. Frank has been doing my husbands hair for 10+ years and has not once received a bad haircut. This salon is top notch in every aspect.
