LMI / LanMinds of Berkeley has provided me with fabulous internet service for years, including some times when I needed (and got) fabulous personal assistance from them. For the past few years, absolutely nothing has caused me to call LMI with service related questions, because service has been outstanding -- but its great to know that any time I need assistance, I can talk to a technically competent person who genuinely cares. Ever since Ive been with LMI I have enjoyed fabulously fast internet download and upload speeds, with an ISP who genuinely cares as much about net neutrality as I do. This means a lot in a day and age when most of the "big guys" in the business are sometimes saying positive things about ensuring internet access for everyone, but who instead are often involved with shady activities such as artificially limiting their customers upstream bandwidth. You wont find any such double-speak with LMI, and they are good neighbors, too -- actively working to provide free public WiFi corridors throughout Berkeley. For those who are environmentally concerned, youll be glad to know that LMI is a green company, running on solar power as much as possible. LMI / LanMinds is one of the best ways to vote with our dollars for so many good reasons.... including the best service and best people.

We switched to LMI for our DSL service several years ago, after I got tired of being yanked around by the faceless corporate providers. Although the big corporate providers may offer short-term "deals" that are lower than LMIs rate, my experience is that a) these deals are generally temporary, and once they have you hooked they will steadily raise your rate; LMI has never raised my rate, and b) if you have problems, you will never find a real human being to help you; LMI is local in Berkeley and has real human beings answering e-mail and phones. Our DSL service has been very reliable, and when my 65-year-old mother needed service I signed her up too -- and the LMI folks were fantastic and patient about helping her with the problems that someone of that generation has with the internet and e-mail. I recommend them highly.

First, these are really nice guys. I say guys because I spoke with 2, and they were patient, thoughtful and knowledgeable. When A.J. said he could fix my problems remotely, I felt doomed. But, he was right! I work from home, am a senior, reluctantly technically proficient, but I needed help. I would call on these guys in a snap...printer, internet, smartphone all taken care of! Amazing job guys!!!!!! I brought in an old laptop that was in need of some serious overhauling. The case was cracked, screen hinges didnt work, the power jack was busted. They replaced all of these and did what I would call a restoration on the computer and they upgraded the memory. They hit my budget by half. The computer works better than I remember. I know where to go for computer repair!!!! Thanks for the great job!

LMi is awesome! I recommend them all the time, especially when my friends complain about AT&T. :) I never seem to have the problems that they do - patchy connection, excessive time on hold with customer service. Only once in the three years since Ive been with them has our wireless not connected, when I called they were responsive and repaired the problem immediately. AND this is a truly local business. Everyone wins!

Did something really dumb and needed a repair fast. Called at 3: 30 pm Thursday Dec 22 and brought the computer in at 4:00. They called the next day at 9:30 am They had cleared my computer of all the nasty worms and viruses. Real people,patient, reasonable, pleasant, and helpful. So great to work with competent, honest human beings. Love that they are local. Highly recommend this company to you.

Gary and his staff are attentive, friendly, fair and patient. LMI sets the bar pretty high when it comes to local Internet providers and they provide an amazing service to the East Bay. They truly care about their craft and customers and it shows. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a company where comments are heard by the owner, not customer service reps.

Great Place!!! Highly recommend. I went in there with a problem on my MacBook Pro computer and they seemed to be really honest about what they could do for me and what they could not do for me. They recommended I go to another place, where they could help me better. Everyone seems super nice too.
