On a recent trip, I experienced what I thought to be a transmission problem. Not having had to deal with this situation in the past, I was not sure where to take my car for evaluation or repair. After doing some research, I decided to take my car to the AAMCO shop in Campbell. Rick is the person I talked at the shop, explaining to him what I had experienced on the trip. He asked various questions based on my observations. After road testing my car and confirming my observations, he went over various diagnostic and repair possibilities, explaining the various aspects and cost of each one. He suggested an approach that would start with eliminating the simpler, less costly items before embarking on more costly repairs. How refreshing. At that point I felt that taking my car to Rick’s shop was the right decision. Since it had been quite awhile since the car had a tune-up or routine transmission service, Rick suggested starting there and I agreed. The service was performed and then the car was road tested. Rick called me and told me the car was now behaving normally. Wow! What a relief. No costly transmission rebuild. Rick’s logical and honest approach of eliminating the simple things first is greatly appreciated. I will be taking my car back to him for any future maintenance and repair work. I highly recommend his shop.

I call in to get a quote, a man named Rich picks up the phone and I ask "What would be the price range to get all 4 of my brakes repaired?" as a questions to start off my inquiry. He laughs at me... Which makes me feel very uncomfortable continuing my conversation with him. I honestly felt humiliated. I asked "Is something that I said funny to you?" He tries to play it off as if its okay to laugh at people calling in to ask for information for on their services. I work in web design and online marketing, I couldnt tell you how many people ask me general questions about services they dont understand and I EDUCATE them. Not laugh at them.

Rick was outstanding in explaining what was going on with my car and what they were going to do to fix it but yet try and keep the costs as low as they could. They didnt just say "well, you need a new transmission and a new computer, tough luck" instead they tried a new computer first to see if that would communicate with the transmission without having to replace the transmission as well. That worked! Of course it was still costly but not as costly as it could of been and probably would of been if Id taken it to the dealer.

My husband came to AAMCO of Campbell after Toyota told him that he needed a new transmission for $5,000 based on a visual check on the color of the oil. The AAMCO team did a thorough exam and determined that we only needed to replace the transmission fluid. Saved us a bunch of money. We moved to Delaware soon afterwards and the truck has been running well since. AAMCO of Campbell is very professional and trustworthy. We would definitely use AAMCO again if we were still living in Los Gatos.
