I am a 91 year old senior, who went to The Meridians Sports Club to check out the free Silver Slipper workout program that my health insurance pays for, after the Curves I belonged to closed. Once entering, a manager told me that I had to have a personal trainer. I did not want one, but was "stong-armed " into signing a contract. The next day, I went back to the Sports Club and told the manager that I did not want a personal trainer and I needed to cancel the contract. (The contract stated a person had 5 days to cancell). I tried one Silver Slipper workout program, and did not like it, and never had a personal trainer session, and never returned to the club. I was shocked when my Visa bill showed up with a charge of $399.00 for the personal trainer that I cancelled and never used. I called the Sports Club and discussed my concern with a salesperson and was told to call a lady at the corporate office. After leaving 4 unanswered messages, I drove over to the club and talked to more people there and was told there was nothing they could do; in fact they got me confused with another lady who came in with a caretaker! I then went to my bank and discussed the Visa charge with the bankers and was told I needed I note from the Sports Club, to annul the charge. To make a long story short, this 91 year-old had to make numerous phone calls and trips to both the Sports Club and bank before the situation was resolved. The bank resolved it, not the sports club. All I can say is SHAME ON THEM and BEWARE before you sign any contract with this organization.

Originally, I signed up with some co workers and we all asked about cancellation, they told us we could cancel at any time because we were not doing group billing. We thought it was worth the higher dues because the club looked nice and offered a lot… or so we thought. I had been a member for 6 months. The classes I took were boring and never on time (some were even cancelled with no notification and the schedule was always wrong). The pool was always being used by older people floating or leisurely swimming around (I would have liked to do laps). I was unimpressed with the cafe the few times I ate there and the person behind the counter was never there. I moved to San Diego (where they do not have a club), so I thought I would be able to cancel my membership. They said they would charge me 2 months dues to cancel and that I had to drive the 2 hours to fill out paperwork because I could not do it online or by email. I ended up waiting till the end of my contract and driving up to sign the paperwork. Still, they have not stopped billing me and when I called to tell them my membership is cancelled and they still are charging me… I get transferred back and forth from corporate and then get hung up on. The people here, no matter how many times you call, always change their story. I would not trust anything they say. The gym is not worth the money and the only advantage is that it is clean and usually pretty empty… but that may be because membership is down due to lack of service.

The manager Kim I think her name is, is probably the rudest person Ive ever encountered in my life. I dont even understand how she got her position with her horrible customer service skills. She talks to you with the worst attitude actually rolled her eyes at me multiple times because I am a new member and didnt know how to properly sign in because I was never given a card. The rest of the staff is super friendly. I feel bad for them that they work under that monster.

I love my new gym where the staff knows my name when I enter the club. It has the best weight room, cardio floor and a ton of group exercise options. While I dont swim that often I could even do laps in their huge pool. Theres an indoor running track and beautiful basketball court. I just love having so many options in such a warm and friendly enviroment. People always extend themselves to help and I really appreciate my new gym.

Its an okay gym and very expensive. They will start your off at around 40-50 a month but then every few month they add on a dollar or two, which is kind of shady... Ive been a member for 3 years now and I referred 6...SIX... LET ME SAY IT ONE MORE TIME, SSIIXXX PEOPLE, to join this gym. What did I get in return for my referrals? The very next month my membership went up! Lmao. Thanks Meridian!

my wife tried this gym on a groupon ...then joined after the groupon was over, based on the free childcare. Then 3mos in to a 12mo contract they change it from free childcare to we have to pay..We canceled but continue to be charged...this gym is under new management..and is trying to rob people to stay open...24hr fitness is a much better deal...

Im tired of going to crowded gyms and looking for mis-matched weights, and I am not there to socialize, Im there to work on my body. I fiiinnnaaally found a place with no crowds, no waits for classes, no distractions, and a real classy environment at a pretty competitive rate. All I need now is room service...maybe soon lol!

This place is a joke I went into for a tour and they called me 15 times in a week. Obviously they are hurting for members. The gym is so depressing, no windows and lonely dark hallways to get to recreational rooms is another depriving aspect of this overcharged not much to offer gym. Stay away from this scammer company.

George you wrote a bad review over every of the 15 Gyms in this company some of them in different states. Since you cant possible be a member of all of them makes me believe you working for a different Fitness company. This is dirty and unfair practice. If you cant compete fair you maybe dont want to compete at all

I used to belong to this gym and still would if it werent for the rising fees. I left there paying about 60 bucks for two people, when I started paying less than 40. I really liked this place because it was never crowded. I never had to wait for a machine. The staff there has always been great too.

Reached out to manager about membership details for racquetball. Received no response. Same result from my partner- no response from management. Facilities are nice but perhaps better communication in customer service

Ideal for someone looking to zone out and get a good workout in with no one in your way I travel 20 miles 5 days a week to come to Meridian, the staff and employees are outstanding.

This place is an absolute dump. The lighting is dim, the carpeting is shabby, the workout equipment is seriously aged. Total s****hole.
