The Druggist Pharmacy 21421 Brookhurst Street Huntington Beach, CA 92646 (corner of Hamilton & Brookhurst) December 7, 2008 To whom it may concern: On Saturday, December 6th, 2008, I came in to purchase a breathing treatment machine called a “Nebulizer” for my ailing 91 year old father. The pharmacist refused to sell me the machine unless I had a prescription from a doctor. I went back to my 91 year old father’s board and care home and picked up the medicine that had been prescribed by a doctor and picked up at Walgreens on Friday, December 5th. The pharmacist said she still needed a “piece of paper” from a doctor authorizing the sale of the machine. I pointed to the prescription label on my 91 year old father’s medicine and said “this represents a piece of paper from a doctor.” She threatened to kick me out of the store if I didn’t stop asking to purchase the machine. As I didn’t have any alternatives on a Saturday morning in south Huntington Beach, I stopped talking hoping that she would sell me the machine for my 91 year old father. After a minute, she then realized I was correct and sold me the machine. This “lady” pharmacist and her helper should lose their license to practice in the state of California as they illegally and nearly caused a medical emergency for my 91 year old father who needed this breathing machine. All the while, there was an out-patient nurse waiting at his board and care home for this machine so she could instruct the care-givers on how to use it on my 91 year old father. Absolutely do not purchase anything from or patronize The Druggist Pharmacy as they apparently do not give a damn about potential medical emergencies.

The employees are very nice. They have a lot of fun gifts and souvenirs, especially for kids. Some items are kind of expensive though.
