One of the worst experiences Ive ever had with the post office. First went on line to seek a solution to my problem, on line they just direct the issue to the local post office. I was contacted by the supervisor Carlota Bradford, she asked for documents that were virtually impossible to obtain from City of La Mirada. I once again went on line to continue looking for a solution to my problem, and once again they just send my issue to the local office, Carlota Bradford calls me again now stating that she has already told me what I need. I decided to come in person and address this issue. I was told to speak to a supervisor by the person behind the counter. Carlota Bradford comes out, the minute I start explaining my issue she immediately knew who I was and once again tells me the same thing, to go to City of La Mirada and bring the necessary documents, I asked to be more specific and tell me exactly what she meant by "City of La Mirada" and what documents she is looking for to be able to deliver mail to my address. At this point she goes to a computer looks something up and writes it down, she hands me a piece of paper with an address and a telephone number, I punch the address on my gps and start driving to the place, she sent me near City Hall, when Im about to arrive I call the number she gave me and realize she sent me to the water park called "Splash. As crazy as this might sound I went in there and asked for help with my issue, at this point even though I know there is no way they can help me I still tried, just to exhaust all possibilities, then I went to city hall, building, planning and none of these departments had any help to give me, they had no idea what Carlota was asking for. I now go back to post office and as soon as I walked in she is already giving me a look that says "you again" I approached her and told her she had just sent me to Splash, I asked for her to be more specific and tell me what department from "City of La Mirada" she wanted me to go to, she couldnt answer, I said "Planning?" she says Yes, I just went there, I responded, I said can you give me a name for the document you need me to provide? or at least describe it to me? she says, "you have never done this before, have you?" (unbelievable). At this point she accepts to take a look at the document Ive been offering from the county of LA since the first time we spoke on the phone and realizes that might be what she is looking for, she asked me to allow her to make a copy and takes it to the back, she takes much longer that it would normally take any one to make some copies and then a man by the name of Anthony walks out with my document and asks if its mine. He tells me that is what they need and they will put my address on their data base to start delivering mail. Carlota came out and acted like nothing ever happened. No apology for her lack of experience and for making me struggle these three weeks with this issue, that should have never been an issue if USPS did what they are supposed to do to begin with, let me make it clear that this document had already been mailed by LA county to USPS 6 months ago and then again a few weeks ago. YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!

The La Mirada post office is pathetic, at best. Ive had a PO box here for about 6 + months now. I have only been able to Access my mailbox less than half of the time that I am not working. The " renovation / construction" on the roof or the entrance never reaches any progress, and the note on the Locked up Lobby (read: mailbox access) says closed until "further notice" which should just say Never. Upon speaking once to a postal worker about this on the phone --(as they want me to pay my renewal Fee, bah) I asked him When they were going to have any type of resolution or expected date for completion. (No response) I asked if they were accepting Bids for the contractors ( no answer) I informed him that I couldnt possibly be the Only postal customer Completely inconvenienced and troubled by this procedural Fail- because even though I work odd hours, I am nonetheless a Paying Customer absorbing the problem unaddressed here. The man left the lobby open two nights (yay) & resumed to lock it up. Today is a Sunday, around noon. Im parked outside watching postal customers file in and out of the lot, many of whom appear to be upset that it is not open. DO THE MATH USPS . ITS A SMALL WONDER UPS AND FEDEX ARE PUTTING USPS OUT OF BUSINESS. SAD.

Not particularly happy with this post office. I pre-print my postage at home but I like to have my items scanned in which only takes a minute. Literally a minute. But the last two times I have tried the unfriendly postal employees say, "Im not scanning anything". Wait a minute, isnt that your JOB? I suppose if it were an actual business and not Government Union Employees the service would be 10x better. I never experience that type of poor service at FedEx or UPS. The reason I like it scanned is so that I receive a receipt as proof. In the past when I didnt get a receipt stuff would somehow get lost. Also, since Im here, why the hell do you have postal employees acting like lame lobby greeters? Maybe if they were behind the counter servicing customer the line and service might actually be better. And finally, why do you have 9, count them NINE, video cameras watching the lobby? Is there some kind of threat we should be aware of at the post office?

Unable to get help with passport as stated on site at 9:00 am. Was told by very nonservice orientated male employee that the passport time was 10:00 am. However, two weeks ago when I finally reached a person at the post office by phone, I was told that passport assistance starts at 9:00 am and if you need a photograph then at 10:00 am. I even got passport help for my husband and I two weeks ago at 9:00 am. Frustrated, went with my daughter (who needed to renew her passport) to the La Habra Post Office. Their hours are from 9:30 to 3:00. The female postal employee starting helping us at 9:25 am. What service and even service with a smile!

No stars. A real 3rd world operation. Had mail help for vacation with option to have accumulated mail delivered on the 15th. No mail delivered 15th or 16th. On 17th I went in. They dont deliver accumulated; theyre too busy. You have to pick it up. What about mail for 15th & 16th after hold period? They dont deliver; you have to pick it up. Can I have my mail? Gone for some time; cant find it. Carrier must have taken it for delivery. Carrier came. One piece of mail only. They should not be handling US mail. Complete failure at handling an essential government function.

Just wanted to post a review to counteract all the negatives-- I dont live in the area, but I had to drop off something at the post office that had to be mailed immediately. When I got there there was a bit of a line, and they only had one terminal. There was a kind employee patiently helping an old man figure out how to use the terminal, however. When she was done, she quickly processed all those paying with a credit or debit card to remove the hassle of waiting in line. Overall, exceptional customer service from her! (Went on a Saturday morning, around 9:45)
