After months of having issues with our Laptop (lagging, stalling) I finally asked on Facebook if anyone knew of a local business that fixes "sick" computers. Bob at ICU came highly recommended from a friend -- and I can see why. He works out of his home office (garage-turned into work space) here in Riverside (off of Adams), and when you walk into it you feel as if you walked into a repair shop youd see anywhere else. He has a pretty sophisticated set-up. In other words, it did not feel or look like you were in someones garage. He was with another customer and he invited us to take a seat while he finished up with them. He has a couple of cushioned office chairs for customers -- we werent sitting on lawn chairs. When it came to be our turn, he examined our Laptop and said it looked like we had "bugs". He quoted us a fair price to clean up our system. The whole thing would only take a day and we could pay when we picked it up. We MAY have had to put in a little money up front that went towards the total, but I cant quite recall... Either way, his pricing is quite fair. The next morning Bob called me to say upon further inspection that it was in fact our Hard Drive that needed replacing. He said it might just behoove me to purchase a new Laptop instead of paying what he thought would be about $300 for the new hard drive and his time and labor. I said Id talk it over with my husband and son and get back to him. Hubby and son thought a new GOOD Laptop would cost significantly more than what it would cost to fix our old one, so we went with that plan and Bob was able to find a good price on a Hard Drive on Amazon for SAME DAY shipping. Our computer was ready the next day after that and its been working great since. The whole thing cost us less than $260.00 from top to bottom. We couldnt buy a new Laptop for that. If youre a NEW, FIRST TIME CUSTOMER, make sure to ask Bob for the 20% off he advertises on his website. Its only for one time use per customer but it helped defray ours costs. I would highly recommend ICU.

My last laptop was having problems to the point when I turned it on I got a blank screen - death of a hard drive to all who have been down this avenue. I was frantic because I had so many precious photos stored on that hard drive. I was in the process of transferring those photos to an online photo storage. ICU Computer Repair is centrally located in Riverside,CA. & across the street from my friends home - she went across the street to obtain the phone number for me. The owner, Bob Plourde was able to retrieve my all hard drive information - MIRACLE! Previously, I have had another laptop that had died 4 years early. I took that laptop to an "American multinational consumer electronics corporation" who could not retrieve anything from my hard drive. Bob being aware of my limited income has sold me 2 computers at a good value and provided services for both of them. His news letters and emails are so on point for each of his customers as well. I hope GOD continue to bless Bob and his business.

Bob has been our "go to computer man" for over 4 years and has ALWAYS given us honest answers to all our questions as well to give us quality work at a fair price. We drive 27 miles, passing other computer repair places on the way, to have Bob address our needs if they cannot be done by remote access which he does much of the time anyway. I recommend to all my friends to go to Bob or at least call him since he can usually get the job done by remote access. When we call Bob with a problem, he seems to be able to visualize what is going on, does a remote access, and shortly we are back up and running again. He is the best I have found yet and I have lived all over this country at one time or another.

I was very wary of multiple repair shops as I didnt know what was wrong with my laptop and didnt want to be taken advantage of. After reading positive reviews, I decided to go with ICU. Offering free inspection is already a step above everyone else, but Bob is the most professional, knowledgeable person you can hope to have repair your laptop. He gives you context for what hes going to do and educates you so can reasonably maintain your laptop for the rest of its days. Hes honest, offers fair prices, and thankfully doesnt push you into getting the service. I would definitely go back if something were to happen to my laptop. 10/10

Brought a gaming PC in suffering from god knows what. He recommended updating to Windows 10 Pro and said it was great at automatically picking drivers. 100 red flags went off in my head but i said whatever i cant figure it out, ill try it. It seemed to work great except now Steam was unusable. It wasnt until he asked me if i HAD to use Steam that i realized i went to the wrong place. Im sure hes great at virus removal and normal day to day or work computers, but if its a gaming computer i would advise taking it elsewhere or fixing it yourself. As of now my computer has been gathering dust for months. Really nice guy though.

Have a laptop that had a broken screen. Purchased a repalcement screen but wasnt sure if it would work. ICU computer replaced screen for me within hours, and now it works fine. Bob is a great guy and explained everything to me, including possibility replacement screen might not work if it wasnt the very same manufacturers screen. Very knowledgable, excellent people skills.
