I had a terrible experience with the site manager today. The gentlemans name is Don. The issue was in regards to a 30 day notice to vacate the space I have rented since 2008. My wife and I are in the process of buying a short sale and we had hoped to move in by mid May. On April 13th I put in a 30 day notice (as required) to vacate. I was told I would make my normal monthly payment in May and when I vacated on the 13th they would send me the prorated difference. We experienced a typical delay in the short sale process and we wont be leaving until May 25th or so. I was late on my payment this month as I have been a few times since 2008 ( I dont claim to be perfect) but Rocklin Springview Mini-Storage has made plenty of money off me with the $20 late fee and $25 pre-lien fee. So today I called Don to explain the situation and he basically tells me that the 30 day notice expired on the 13th of May and I would have to start over again today by giving another 30 day notice today and paying 17 days of June rent regardless of the fact that I will be leaving prior to the end of May. When I tried to express my frustration with never being told of any expiration date on my 30 day notice he refused to listen and accused me of among other things calling earlier than normal (0730) and waking up his coworker, who he said had been recently hospitalized. When I sought clarification of the rules and asked him to be reasonable he simply stated "we have been over that" and "it is what it is." He told me to get in with my money and that was the end of the conversation. He then hung up the phone. I drove out there angry but decided to calm down and try to seek an amicable resolution. When I arrived his demeanor was the same as it had been on the phone (argumentative and rude). I asked for his supervisors name and he refused stating Im the manager and the owners " dont want or need to talk to you." He further told me he wold give me a poor credit rating and when I pointed out that the thirty day slip I filled out makes no mention of an expiration he told me to "look up what 30 days means in the dictionary." I was apologetic and told him I wanted to take responsibility for my actions and would appreciate better customer service he said "it is what it is." He also mentioned that he keeps a can of Mace behind the counter for unruly customers. I have always paid Rocklin Springview Mini-Storage what I have owed them and have done so 90% of the time on the 1st of the month. Don does not in my experience, value me or my status a long term customer in the slightest. When dealing with this business in general and Don specifically "it is what it is."

This business took advantage of an elderly relative of mine. They lied about pricing and lied about square-footage of the units. They measure the ouside of the entire builing and "average it out", which is false advertising. The younger manager on site had a snarky and unapologetic attitude and was extremely rude when confronted about this situation. They would not reduce price or releave the contract- they threatened to call the police instead. They received a poor Yelp review shorty after- which conveniently enough, a five star rating was generated the next day going against every issue addressed from their poor review... Funny... These are dishonest people that will lie and threaten to call the police on old women when theyre confronted locally. Do not do business here.

I have had a great experience with this storage facility. Chris the attendant in the front has been very helpful and has met all of the requests everytime Ive had one. Very friendly and very personable. I have been storing here for 5 months now.

Spots are very narrow, with other trailers, campers or boats only inches away from from one another, also at an angle and slightly uphill. Slightly less expensive but the risk of damage and difficulty to park is built into the price.
