THE GOOD: This gym is a lot bigger than the old one. There is all new equipment and plenty of it. The free weight area is huge with multiple sets of weights and dumbbells. I dont think there will be much waiting around to use any equipment here. The Cycle and Aerobic studios have plenty of room and there is a special trainers area. The pool area has small lockers to keep your stuff so you can keep an eye on it while swimming. They would also be useful to help safe guard any valuables you may have brought into the gym while working out. More so than the locker room lockers or your car, both frequently get broken into. At least the pool lockers are visible from the front desk area through the glass wall. There is a private restroom poolside as well as a changing room (great for the kid who comes with the opposite sex parent who cannot go in the locker room with them). The water fountains have electronic filters to indicate youre getting clean water and there is a dispenser for filling your water bottle. The locker room is big and has a lot of lockers. There is a single bench in the middle of each locker area which can get overcrowded easily. The lockers are big with room to hang up clothes. There are flat screen TVs overhead in the sink area? Why? The locker room music is too loud for being ambient background music. It seems to be mostly Techno-club music, which doesnt project a calm, relaxing environment. Im not saying it should be elevator music either, but there is a balance in mixing, easy listening, soft rock and oldies. THE BAD AND UGLY: The gym needs to stay open later. M-F until 1 AM and Weekends until 10 PM. Better yet 24 hours. Lets see how long this gym stays clean. I know the gyms in Highland and Redlands are filthy. The staff will give tours through the locker room and there are paper towels on the floor (Ive repeatedly seen workers kick trash out of their way instead if stopping and picking it up), the sinks are dirty and the smell that comes from the shower area is akin to a fish market at noon in the middle of July! (PEW WEE! Its enough to gag a maggot!) They supply shower soap but the container lid is not secured and is removable by anyone. In this day and age, I dont understand why LA Fitness is not concerned about the possibility of the soap being tampered with or being contaminated. I dont use it and bring my own. Other gyms have a swimsuit spinner and complimentary plastic wet bags, so why doesnt LA Fitness? The pool is too narrow with only 3 sectioned lanes. The pool is too shallow and if youre on the taller side of 5-10+ theres a fair chance of your feet hitting the pool bottom. The old San Bernardino gym never had a dry sauna so, Yeah! a new gym means finally getting a dry sauna like all the other gyms! Uh, NO! there is no dry sauna... WTF! At least theres a nice hot whirlpool to relax your aching, tired muscles. Uh, NO! there is no whirlpool... WTF! (Guess what LA Fitness execs the new 24 Hour Fitness down the street has a pool like you, plus a whirlpool, plus a dry sauna and even a steam room. If someone is looking to join a gym, 24 Hour Fitness offers more. Plus the obvious they are open 24 hours.) Never bring valuables into the gym or lock them in your car. Theft happens everywhere to everyone. Always wear flip flops in the shower and wet areas. ** 1 Star given because as a new gym the should have a large pool, a sauna and a whirlpool! If it had these I would have given the gym 4 Stars... **

Ive been a member of LA Fitness for a long time. This dump is obviously an old Ballys gym: there is a big chunk of space dedicated to empty offices where the Bally-esque selling-stuff-you-dont-need happens, the cardio equipment seems to have never been maintained, the staff is less than enthusiastic, and the free-weights are absolute garbage. Im not going to waste time on the trainer I saw ding nothing more than chatting with his female client: most trainers anywhere arent anything more than chicken hawks. The only reasons I gave it one star is... I had to give at least one, the locker room was clean, and the staff, while not very competent, was at least friendly. I hope LA Fitness pays attention to this gym because it sucks if you use treadmills to run and freeweights to train. But if youre a fitness fruit that walks at 2mph, leans against the weight racks for hours in conversation, uses machines to get overuse injuries, and takes Zumba classes for real... youll never notice the different name on the building.

Very happy so far w this particular location. I go in off peak times so that may account for the fact that despite the place being small there is always a machine that I want to use open, the locker room is beautiful, the showers are very clean, the pool isnt over crowded. Fellow gym goers are polite and an excellent selection of old, young, fit, not so fit, and people who are trying to better themselves and not play love connection. The staff is courteous and not overbearing, the environmental services people are always out and about keeping things stocked and sparkling. This is one of the smaller la fitness facilities. If you gym for the sauna or a whirlpool or a juice bar then this isnt the location for you. None of that is part of my gym to do list (sit in a room sweating like a hooker in church after I just worked out? Do you want to get dehydration or heat stroke? Hmm. And juice? I can hit up a Jamba Juice and probably pay less). So yeah. I love it. The only thing I would beg for is make it a 24 hour.

Great experience every time I go. When I first checked it out, the manager Gill was very professional and helpful in answering all my questions. Gill customized my membership so that I wasnt paying for things I didnt need, which allowed me and my wife to join at an incredible price. I use to be a member of planet fitness and it was horrible. This gym is clean, open, not crowded, and the workers are very friendly. They also gave me and my wife a 1hr try with their professional trainers Mark and Anthony. Both are not your cookie cutter you tube trainers, but are very professional. If you want that perfect body in 1yrs or less, they will definitely make it happen. So far, Im enjoying the gym. I like that they have a pool which was my main desire, and they are much cheaper and less crowded than 24hr fitness. I would have given 5stars but they dont have a steam room or jacuzzi, and the pool is a little small. Other than that theyre great.

I recently became a member of LA Fitness and my experience so far has been great. This specific location has been newly remodeled and is very clean, very spacious, and all the equipment is very nice. Also the all the staff here have been very pleasant. I had my first training assessment with Chanel and she was extremely sweet, very understanding, and provided me with so much knowledge. We sat and talked, I told her what it was I feel I needed and she was able to help me make a plan for my goals and helped me get a better understanding of what I needed to do. She also taught me some meet great workouts. I definitely recommend anyone interested in beginning a new fitness journey to come here and speak with the staff, they will get you pointed in the right direction.
