The guys at this Midas are gems in the rough. My partner and I brought in our old van when she refused to start, because we thought the starter had gone bad. It turned out our guess was wrong and to make a very long story shorter, they not only fixed our van but completely rebuilt her steering column from the parts of two separate columns, and even corrected for us some shoddy work we had done ourselves when we replaced the battery cables. The whole thing took 3 days, which was unexpected and unavoidable, and a huge inconvenience because our whole lives are stored in this van, but the guys were nothing less than empathetic and apologetic that it was such an undertaking, and they did everything in their power to do the job as quickly, and correctly, as possible. Theyve earned our loyalty, I have never felt like our van was in safer hands.

All of the current reviews are out of date - this Midas recently underwent a management change and although I cant speak to the old staff, the experience I had with them recently was absolutely fantastic. Their services are quick, efficient, and well priced. I got to know the manager as well as some of the associates first-hand over about a month as they worked to find a small, relatively unimportant cosmetic piece for my older car. They truly care for their customers and work to make sure they are fully satisfied. Id recommend this location to anyone.

Originally from Chicago, I typically used Midas for my oil changes. After a fender bender, I needed to get my license plate screwed back on and an oil change in San Diego. Not only did they put my license plate back on for free, they also checked the pressure of my tires AND were very kind to a homeless man who wandered in for some water. I would not go anywhere else in the area to have car maintenance or repairs. The staff was quick and thorough and their kindness did not go unnoticed. I will be recommending this location to all of my friends.

Nice to your face but quick to rip you off. Im from Ohio and traveled the west for 4 months. Came in for an oil change December 22, 2016 when I was in OB because I had a coupon. My $18 oil change turned in to a $175 service because my serpentine belt and an air filter needed replaced. Now that Im back home and my dad checked out the underneath, we discovered they didnt even change the oil filter. So now I have to go take my car in for another oil change. Were pretty suspicious they didnt even change the oil in the first place. Thanks guys!

Ive taken my car here twice and have been pleased every time. I had an oil leak and then an axle issue and they probably spent 4 hours locating the various problems but it didnt cost me a dime! When I did spend some money to get the problems fixed it was significantly cheaper than at the dealership and the work is guaranteed. You leave feeling like you were treated honestly and fairly and it doesnt cost anything for them to take a look at potential problems.

I took my work truck here to get tires replaced, they were guaranteed payment through a maintenance program, and I cant tell that they did anything more than collect payment. Still the same crappy tires with chunks missing from the sidewalls, and a flat inner tire on the dually axle. THE WHOLE REASON I TOOK MY TRUCK HERE WAS TO GET THE TIRES REPLACED. I would never trust this place again. It was sheer laziness. They are putting peoples lives at risk. BEWARE

They gave me a very complete free brake/tire inspection, and showed me the worn parts on my car. It seemed aboveboard and trustworthy, and they offered me discounts to get the work done there. It is kind of a weird spot to pull into and out of, in a tiny lot off the busiest section of Rosecrantz. The waiting room is small and nothing to write home about, but they did have a Krups machine (no decaf). There were nearby pokestops to walk to while waiting.

I had two positive experiences with this Midas location. I stopped in randomly last week and asked a ton of questions. The Midas professional was very patient and answered all of my questions. I went in today for a free brake inspection and was taken at my appointment time. There was no work needed so they sent me on my way, free of charge! I will be back for my next oil change and tire rotation. Bottom line: I trust them!

Very disappointed.. was initially going to have both my engine and transmission oils flushed and just got my engine..because the guy said i didnt need the tranny flushed due to the miles but i asked him to check it anyways he told me that if it smelled like rubber or Smokey it would be a good idea to change it .well i guess they didnt even check because i checked and it smells like burnt rubber never going there again...

Went in to have a new exhaust system installed on my stock 1982 BMW. They told me, "We arent capable to install a new exhaust on your car" "The job isnt worth it to us." I thought this was a muffler shop?! Ill never go here for any of my vehicles. Dont waste you time!! Awful service!!! Front counter employee is rude!

Received multiple little fixes and a tune-up before driving cross country. One time I came in thinking my alternator was busted but it ended up just being a loose battery connection, they could have done something shady but they reconnected it and didnt even charge me. Good people, good work, nothing shady.

Jonathan (the manager) was very friendly and was happy to work with me to figure out financing to fix my vehicle, and give me discounts wherever he could! They back their work, and many of their parts are under warranty, and its helpful that all the San Diego Midas shops are connected.

took my toyota in for a brake job, the estimate came out to be close to $1000 because they found other "problems". I took it to the dealership and they said there were no other problems, and did the brakes for under $300 - which is still too much, but way less than a grand!

Terrible. Made an appointment three days in advance, wake up early and on time to keep it and when I arrive Im told that theyre an hour behind. Things happen, but at least a call or text to keep their customers updated. Never going to Midas again.

Very good and prompt service. Drove in on Saturday morning with no appointment for a brake check and they had my SUV on the lift in 15 minutes. Nothing wrong, no charge, and rotated my tires for free. Will definitely be back when I need brakes.
