I do most of my automotive service myself. What I dont do, or cant do, goes to the few places I trust. Harbor Brake Service is a place I trust, and have for years even back in the days of Fred and Wayne Lebsack. Evan -- the current owner -- maintains the tradition of honesty and fairness. He will tell you when something truly needs to be done, and hell let you know when something can wait. His prices are competitive and excellent for the quality. Ive had brakes done, along with occasional suspension work, and it is the absolute only place I will go for an alignment. He will work with you to arrange a convenient appointment, and works fast. Other than being a longtime satisfied customer, I have no connection with Harbor Brake. I consider it one of the best automotive service centers in the entire county. You wont be disappointed.

On 10/3/16 my car would not start. No problem I thought..I was in a busy parking lot of Whole Foods Market on Irvine Center Drive..I can ask someone to help jump start my battery. I approached two different people who parked next to me for help. They both refused. In desperation, I ran after a young couple who were walking towards Starbucks. Thats how I unwittingly met David Morton, the lead technician for Harbor Brake in San Pedro and Erica, whose father owns the auto shop! David not only helped jump start my car battery but also gave my two teenage sons and me a detailed, step by step tutorial. He also took the time to tell us what type of battery was the best for our car. What luck that we met these good samaritans. I HIGHLY recommend David Morton and Erica of Harbor Brake, San Pedro and thank both of them.

Amazing guest service! Erika talked with us over the phone and helped us reschedule an apt when they were too busy. David was friendly, funny, and professional every time we spoke with him. He took time to drop us off at home so we would not have to wait around the shop. We really appreciated that. David even checked my spare tire, and refilled it with air when he saw it was flat. He saved me from a future crisis! I never felt pressured to fix/replace anything that wasnt nessisary. Fair prices for the time they work on your vehicle. Erika and David both took time to answer my general questions about cars as well. My expectations were blown away with professional and friendly service. Thanks guys!

I would like to say the folks at Harbor brake are so kind so courteous so helpful it amazes me. Even when Ive tried to do a job myself and found that Ive bitten off more than I can chew they have given me the (Heimlich maneuver) and saved my life for a price that was so reasonable I questioned why I even tried to do the work myself to begin with. Thats why I take them my homemade fudge and cookies because they earned my lifelong loyalty. In fact I think I own a batch of cookies right now Im off to the kitchen.

Evan, Erica and David are the most customer focused auto repair staff Ive ever come across. They are attentive, conscientious, and super friendly. Ive been taking my cars to them for about a decade, and I wont go anywhere else. Theyre always super up front about pricing, and they do good work. Trust isnt something that comes easy for me, but Harbor Brake and Automotive Service has not only earned my trust, but my customer loyalty as well.

My front brakes started grinding this morning (Saturday). Called Harbor Brakes around 3PM, they said come on down. I was out of there by 4:15. They turned both front disks, installed new pads and bled the system for $210 out the door. Their shop is historical, they have been around 60+ years. The shop is run by locals who contribute to the community and speak English. Be sute to check out their old photos of San Pedro!

The folks at Harbor brake are more than just brake specialist they take on your whole car. I hate going to a dealership, and am happy they now do more than just oil changes, and brake issues..I am in!!! Go check them out. Honest, decent pricing, and helpful. Theyll even give you a ride home while you wait for service. Best part, they do not give me any grief about my dog sitting with me while we wait :)

I went here to get my brakes checked. They spent the time and work checking my brakes out for free. (My brakes squeal in the first couple minutes of driving). They let me know that they were put on correctly and aligned correctly, and that the kind of noise my car makes is typical in areas by the ocean. They were very helpful and explained everything. Highly recommended!

I have taken my vehicle here twice so far. Ive had my fiance take hers in once. Theyre always very courteous. The work is done in a timely manner. They charge very reasonable rates for quality work. And, perhaps most importantly, theyre honest; a quality which is becoming harder and harder to find in the auto repair industry. I highly recommend.

Called to have a hitch installed...young lady answering the phone was very professional...got there and David was kind enough to refer me to a specialist for less than he would have quoted...if that isnt honesty / looking out for the consumer I dont know what is...will definitely be giving them my oil/scheduled maintenance business!! Fantastic. I brought my car in this morning - they diagnosed it, had my front axle rebuilt, and replaced all the boots by the end of the day AND gave me a ride to and from my house (within San Pedro) so that I didnt have to wait in the shop all day. Love it! Evan was great and the price was reasonable, too. I will definitely go back!
