Well... it looks cool and fun inside, but I cant say a lot more. The food is ridiculously over priced for what you get. I had the salmon and my girlfriend had the seared tuna. $26 each. Im a terrible cook but I feel I could have managed what the gave us. The tuna looked like and over-beat piece of sad grilled chicken when is came out. Resembling something that might come out of a hospital cafeteria. It was very over-cooked, which was a good thing since my girlfriend was afraid she might get sick from eating it. My salmon was a good piece of fish, but I dont think they did anything other than cook it. I like pretty boring food, but it and the broccoli were too boring even for me. My girlfriends Moscow mule was $13 and I just had water. $65 and I cant understand why. When we asked for the check they seemed surprised that we didnt want dessert, but my thought was it would probably be $26 for a mediocre brownie. I will say our server, Erica, was very friendly. I guess its a staple of the area, but save your money. Get a drink at the bar and enjoy the fun decor, but eat somewhere else.

This place has a pretty crazy bar scene. I came here with a date and after a few drinks we were pretty much gone and the bartender just kept them coming. If youre looking for a great bar scene, definitely check this place out. I love that the bartenders are friendly, dont bother checking IDs, and will pour a mean stiff drink. Theres a lot to see and take in just at the bar - people hooking up, making out, or just plain getting wasted. Its a fun time especially if youve already had a few drinks. We hung out for a while and then made our way back to the car. Luckily, they have a lot directly behind the restaurant and parking isnt that much. If youre looking to just hang out and have a few drinks, this place isnt bad. They also have a restaurant area as well but Ive only been to the bar.

Over priced... Waited 40 minutes for a cold under cooked 14oz steak... Also I asked for steamed broccoli with cheese... All they did was put it in the microwave ... Terrible service as well... I asked for a to go box.. Gave me attitude.. They took the plate to the back just to put it in a box.. Took 10 minutes... I ended up not takong ot with me... I felt like they SPIT IN THE FOOD because I told them about the under cooked food and the to go box ...

Beware this restaurant does not honor Open Table reservations. Hostess was unhelpful and did not give a crap about the fact we had a reservation. Asked to see the manager and she argued with me about why. Would think that is was pretty evident. We got sat outside on a cold winter night even though several tables opened up inside while I was waiting. Food was just average. Not worth the high price.

No stars. Steak was $31. Server actually served us a burned mess that was low grade beef and no way prime. Refused it. Famous house salad was watery and tasteles. Service was bad as it took 20 mins to get the check after the steak was refused. Overpriced, low quality fare. Locals I talked to afterward all agreed, marginal food at best. AVOID.

It basically feels like Christmas in this bar given the amount of fairy lights that are covering the ceiling, but not in a tacky way, its a very cool vibe. I believe this is the oldest bar in the Santa Monica area dating back to the 1930s from what I remember being told. Definitely worth checking out if only for a drink which is what we did.

From the outside, this place doesnt look like much. But once you go inside its an awesome setting!! The inside has Christmas lights all over year-round and theres also a beautiful patio outside. The menu was full of steak and seafood options. I ordered a salmon entree and it was great. Our server was wonderful too. Id definitely go back!

We came in the afternoon for a snack and while there were plenty of tables free were only allowed to sit at the last high-table if we didnt want a full meal. The place is very dark and decorated with christmas lights all over. After waiting for the waiter to take our order for 20 minutes we left.

We loved this place so much we went back a second night. The steak is fantastic - never had a better NY Strip anywhere. Its a bit pricey, but it was well worth it. Great service - didnt need reservations either night we were there; not even a wait. Definitely recommend the Galley!!!!!!

Yes!! Go in here! This place is a throw back at its finest, with good drinks, good prices and really good food! This isnt a Michelin star restaurant, this is the bar your grandfather went too and tied one in and that makes it amazing! Never change Galley!

The best Sunday happy hour in SaMo. The cokes are a bit pricey, but their food is great and super inexpensive. We have a group that comes here almost every other Sunday after playing volleyball and were always stoked at how small the tab is when we leave.

Steak cooked right. Cocktails and nice dinner. Porterhouse steak .... Okay, so there is saw dust on the floor. So?!?! There is both A1 and Worcestershire sauce on every table. Yet the steak was so good you hardly need either one. Top that!

I live walking distance to this place. Im not huge on seafood but I did try the crab legs when I was there and they were really good! The staff was extremely friendly and got everything we needed and didnt make us wait!

Always a great meal at the oldest restaurant in Santa Monica, although we feel like we are at the Jersey Shore whenever we eat there. You definitely appreciate the "festive decor" more after each delicious Mai Tai.

I thought it was a bit pricy for the food. If you want to enjoy a wacky random restaurant for fun for one night, it might be good one, but the food is not special like I want to go back there to eat again.
