I give them minus 5 star rating. This Post Office branch is awful. I checked with our local Post Office on what postage to put on the Christmas letters we were sending out. Because they included a pen they told me $1.47 so put 3 stamps on. Send out 150 of these Christmas cards with a pen over $220 in postage. They get to the Post Office in Walnut Creek and some one there decides that they are not a letter with a Pen but a I-308 parcel what ever that means. Puts them all in a Priority Mail box and sends them back. So far I have only received about 25 of the letters back. Calling to the Organization that we sent them to and they indicated that they did already get some. So some went through but who knows how many. I have a pretty good relation with the Post Office in our home town of Santa Cruz where we have a PO Box. They all are very nice and accommodating. Calling to the Walnut Creek Post Office I can see why they have such bad reviews on Google now. I wish there was someone to speak to about how this Post Office is run. They definitely need some attitude training. My solution is going to be to put all the letters into a UPS box and send them from now on. I will do as much as possible to not use USPS again. From now on Fed-Ex and UPS. USPS government in action some employees just do not care about the place they work for. What can you do? For me if there is an alternative I will use the alternative. Merry Christmas USPS.

I receive all of my mail at my WC PO Box. I signed up for the Real Mail notification service. There have been times when Ive received 3 emails saying Id received mail, but when I get to my box, theres zero mail in the box. Also, I keep getting mail for other boxes in my box. When this happens, I write "Please deliver to box xxxx, NOT box yyyy" on the envelope and I drop the incorrectly delivered mail in the mailbox at the front of the PO. The next time I go back to my box, the incorrectly delivered mail is in my box again! Sometimes this happens 3x until I finally go into the PO and hand the incorrectly delivered mail to a human and tell them to get it in the correct box. OK, so this week, (8/6/16) I got 2 items in my box that were postmarked in JUNE!!!! but had been delivered to the wrong PO Box. I know they had been incorrectly delivered because the owner of the other box wrote a note on the envelopes about how they had been incorrectly delivered. One item was the bill for my auto insurance, the other was the renewal for my business license. Luckily, I received another letter about the insurance, and I paid it, but my business license has now lapsed and Im being assessed a late penalty. I attempted to phone the post office today, but of course they dont bother to answer the phone and theres no voicemail. Come on!!!! They can do better than that!

WORST POST OFFICE ON EARTH!!! I am having the same probklem as stenella! I got a "fail-to-deliver" notice and when I requested a Re-delivery on-line it never came. I called 2 more times and asked for it to be delivered but it never came. I had my husband go down there and they refused to give him my shipment. They said i had to write a note. Then when he went down there with my note, they laughed at him asking why I sent a note! They said they couldn’t find the package and said it maybe got sent back. Well, they are not supposed to send packages back until after 30 days…and it hadn’t been 30 days. I then called there and the guy said he would call me back later after he looked for the package. NO CALL BACK! I called again and talked to a women who said her name was DEEP. Same thing, she said she would call me back…NO CALL BACK. I then called again and asked for Deep, and the guy said “let me see if I can find HIM” ( the person I talked to was a “SHE”) I sat on the phone and no one ever picked up…I will give an update later to let you know what happened. HATE THESE GUYS!

I use this PO frequently. Lines and wait time usually are long, but the clerks generally are efficient and helpful. However, their mail holds are almost never done correctly. For the past couple years this is ongoing when I am out of town. Basically, short 2-3 days holds are not honored and mail is delivered. During a recent 2+ week vacation, mail continued to be delivered after the hold date. I anticipated this and a relative checked and found bills and statements in the mailbox for a few days. Plus, I indicated on the authorization card not to resume delivery until I picked up the mail at the PO on my return. When I returned home, a large white container with all the mail was sitting on my porch. Yikes! Does anyone else have this problem? Lost mail and getting other peoples mail is also an issue but not my main concern today. I have complained to the post office staff and filed a complaint in the past. There is no improvement. I consider these management problems since they are repetitive.

Horrible!!! Went in a month ago to get mail forwarded from deceased grandmas address to mine. Brought in death cert, trust, filled out paperwork, etc. A month later, still no mail. I called to ask and they tell me I didnt follow procedure. No sorry we messed up- instead I get "I cant say we messed up because you cant tell me who you talked with when you were here" even though I can tell the specific time, date, and gender of the person who helped me. Instead, Im told to go online and change it and that it will be another 4 weeks before I see any mail. I vented about how I have bills in that mail I need to pay and she asks me why I was "dumb enough" (my description of her tone) to not get the addressed changed to mine instead of relying on mail forwarding? Excuse me?!?! How dare I even begin to rely on them having done their job and figure out how to process papers?! I understand mistakes happen.... but cop to it!! Dont tell me its my fault for doing exactly what I was supposed to do.

Youre better off with carrier pigeons. I went into this location once and someone was celebrating a birthday. There was a circus clown folding balloons into animal shapes (carelessly, too - several popped,) a man walking across hot coals, even a sword swallower. The line NEVER MOVED because the two employees were far more interested with the entertainment. When I arrived, I thought the Snake Charmer out front seemed a little out of place (and dangerous!) but I figured he was waiting for someone inside or expecting new reeds for his woodwind. When the cake arrived, the baker couldnt get into the parking lot because the clown forgot to engage his emergency brake and his clown car had rolled out of the space and blocked the entry. Poor baker had to walk the cake (and the exotic dancer inside the cake) all the way into the Post Office. Look, Im all for birthdays, but not while you should be working. I got my red balloon ape and a piece of carrot cake and went to UPS instead.
