I had a shockingly horrible experience at the USPS Avon, Co branch on this Christmas Eve morning. I arrived a few minutes before opening so there were a few people in line waiting for the staff to service them at opening time. Therefore, the day was probably still young for the tall, slender, dark haired, olive skinned very rude woman who was one of 2 people working the counter. She was beyond nasty to every individual in line prior to me so I was not surprised that her unprofessional behavior continued with me, however, I was shocked when she accused me of raising my voice at her because I had not. I had not changed my tone at all nor was I rude in any way. In my mind, I was thinking about how sad it must be to be so miserable and I also thought it was so unfair for anyone to be dealing with someone like her. All of which caused me to put forth great effort to maintain my kindness regardless of the treatment I and the others were receiving. Bottom line, this woman should be relieved of her duties and forced to find a job where she is compensated according to her conduct and performance but when working for the government you are basically given a permission slip to behave however you please as most government employees have horrible attitudes and do not feel the need to provide a minimum of good customer service which is why I ship #FedEx or #UPS. Fire this woman!!!!

post office doesnt service any local addresses, everyone has to Open a p.o. box to receive mail. Thats okay though were in the mountains. however, youd think in the winter months when this area has thousands of more people living here theyd hire more people to help out at the front desk and in the back to organize packages. Nope. Expect long wait times mid day to send mail/packages. if youre receiving a package dont expect a slip in your p.o. box to pick it up for 2-3 full days. If you over night any package youre wasting your money, you wont be able to get it unless theres some miracle. The staff is super helpful and friendly but theyre understaffed. Im really tired taking time out of my day to stop by the post office, yet again, to see if theyve finally organized my package in the back. if you know a package will be sent by FedEx / UPS get it sent to your home address. Save yourself a Damn headache. Edit: Ive read other reviews... Pauline and rob are great. You guys have to understand these guys work their ass off all winter. They need more help, its not fair for them or us. 2 people at the front desk can only do so much in a day.

Dont come here! Ever! If you absolutely have to, plan on coming 2 days after your package arrives. They cant make a 24 hour time frame. Dont pay for next day delivery... Wont happen. Guy in the back getting packages reeked of alcohol a couple years back. Employees are rude, but occasionally will provide different service to known locals... I am an unknown local, but have seen them go in the back to look for a package that just arrived... Not for me though. I have to come back at a another time, and sometimes another after that. This valley has no idea what good customer service is. Ive cut a few bars off, and pizza places because of it. Speaking of pizza, Local Joes also has really bad service. Quoting 45minutes and arriving 2 hours later with half an order. I cut them off a few years ago and hear all the same complaints. Magustos, Gondola and Pizza One are the best choices, but this has nothing to do with the post office.

I wanted to sign up for the on-line services and could not. I kept getting this pop up that said that my name and po box were not correct.I called and got the answer I already knew my name and my PO Box. And no other help. This is unreal. I wanted to do the online so that I did not have to deal with going in, since the employees are so VERY VERY rude, so this was not any easier than going in. It was a waste of my time. I understand that they may be very busy, however if you are working with the public you should be kinder. I have been in the customer service industry for 30 years and have had to deal with rude customers, but I have always been kind no matter what the situation. The employees at the Avon Branch certainly need more customer service training. They seem not to be getting any satisfaction from their jobs. Seriously people , be grateful that you are employed and be kind it is could for the soul.

Sadly, I have to give this post office 1 star. Their counter service is always great but I have officially lost count on how many packages of mine they have lost. UPS and FedEx smartpost systems have made it impossible to ship here. Before we could just have it sent to the house using the trust worthy door to door services. Now we have to send EVERYTHING to this post office and the most frustrating aspect is they signed for my package which means UPS wont let me file a lost package claim and USPS wont allow me to file because it was not a USPS tracking number. 2 packages shipped from the same company on the same day to the exact same address. Avon PO received the packages Friday morning, yet I didnt get the one until today--- 2 days shipping = 5 days in Avon. Beyond frustrated on the amount of money I have lost.

Had a Priority Mail package sent to me at a location 1 block from the post office - I checked tracking status to find "Undeliverable - returning package" notification. Package label not only showed the exact street address, but also a phone number. I walked 1 block to PO, explained my dilemma to the counter man, he went in back and handed me the package. I asked why it was not delivered. He stated they did not deliver mail, residents must come to the PO and pick up their mail - they have all been assigned a PO box. It would be nice if this was explained in the tracking information, not just that it was being returned as undeliverable. The package was labelled correctly, USPS refused to deliver, it was not undeliverable!

Maybe Im in an alternate reality, but this Post Office is fine. The behind-the-counter staff are no-nonsense people, but theyll help you out if you have legitimate questions. The prices for the P.O. boxes are dirt cheap (especially when compared to the real street address boxes that UPS Stores offer), albeit not as flexible. I could complain for the sake of complaining, like many of the other reviews for the Avon, CO USPS, but Im not that kind of guy. Sure the lines are long, but there are no physical mailboxes in this town, thus everything is routed through this Post Office. And if you want someone to complain about, Ill help you out: Donald J. Trump.

I had my first and last encounter with the Avon USPS. Upon the time spent calling them multiple times and being hung up on I saw that they awful reviews. Maybe this is why I have called 5 times and still no one has picked up? Finally a representative picks up the phone. Upon trying to explain my situation he cuts me off and talks over telling me that they are extremely busy and that I need to learn how the post office works in this town. Tells me that I need to set up a P.O. box and that my situation is not his problem. If you are new to Avon and require any package sent to you, insist they do not use USPS. You most likely will not get it through them.
