Okay to start off I was having really bad hesitation problems with my 1996 sl2. I took it to a mechanic and he swore it was the EGR valve. So I got that replaced. I noticed it ran good until the weather warmed up which was 3 days since the new egr. I also took off throttle body and cleaned it, replaced IAC valve, took o2 sensor off to determine it wasnt a clogged cat. At this point I dont know what the problem is and I dont want to keep throwing unnecessary parts at it. I explained this to whomever answered the phone at ace auto. He was told me that he would charge me $80.00 just to look at it and it could be a lot of different things. But he couldnt guarantee that he would fix the issue. He also insisted he couldnt even look at it until later in the week. Customer service on a scale 1to10 is a 1.5. Shouldnt a "MECHANIC" be able to fix and diagnose the problem?? Anyway I would not trust this particular "mechanic" to do any type of work on my car.

Worst experience with an Auto Shop Ive ever had. People there were rude and sarcastic. They were unorganized by setting an appointment and bailing on us and didnt care for the quality of work they presented. They acted to busy to take care of us. And worst of all they didnt even fix the original problem. They left the check engine light on even after replacing the sensors and took it for a test drive. When we came back they attempted to "fix" it while they ate at the same time. And coincidently we not only needed our sensors replaced but a new starter after 4 days. They were completely unprofessional.

The mechanic was nice, but he put parts on my car that werent needed, without saying anything, and then charged me. I took it here to get an alignment. Then i took it to another mechanic and he said the truck hadnt had a recent alignment (not far apart between visits). From ace we didnt get the stats like you do EVERYWHERE else when you get an alignment, he wouldnt even tell us the numbers. We paid for no services rendered...he will get you when he can...BEWARE!

John the owner is a very honest mechanic. He will literally stop you from a repair if your vehicle does not need it and allows you to order your own parts to save money if you so wish. Hes also very reasonable and tells you upfront what its going to cost for labor. We are very thankful to have found John and his ethical business. Its sad you cant say that about most mechanic shops these days.
