As the former Director of Economic Development for the City and County of Denver part of my job description was creating an environment within Denver that would allow small to medium size companies to thrive. I wish every business located in Denver would adopt Elder Autos customer service, quality control and ethical standards.... then the need for City assistance would be at best, minor. My son "discovered" Elder Auto through Yelp and other sources and decided to trust his truck to their care. He had some major work that had to be done in the thousands of dollars and Elder Auto was 1/3 less then the other estimates he got. Short story they did a terrific job and for the original estimate. Because of that I took my car to them and had the same experience, but that is not what I am writing about. Some companies go over and above what I would call good customer service.... Elder Auto went miles above that standard last week. I have a 2004 Acura RL that I have grown very attached to over the years. This year I was told I need to do an emissions inspection, so I took my Acura to the emissions inspection place ....waited my hour while they inspected and FAILED my car because of something I dont understand. I called around and got quotes of anywhere from $250 to $700 to repair my car in order for it to PASS. I decided to take it to Elder Auto because if it needed work I figured they would do the best job and I trust them. I dropped it off and the next day called to see what the cost of repairs was going to run. I was told that the mechanics at Elder Auto did not agree with the emissions inspection and that on their own they had taken my car back to the emission inspections place and were "resolving" my issues at that moment. They told me to call later that afternoon. I did, and they said I could pick my car up it was ready. I went there only to find out that the mechanic had explained to the emissions people that my car was fine and should have passed and they agreed, so my car passed!!! Good news right? Well here is where it goes above and beyond. The wonderful people at Elder Auto refused to charge me anything for their time and efforts on my behalf. They had hours of time specifically dedicated to my car and NO CHARGE. They have earned my loyalty forever! Class act Elder Auto.

Elder is possibly the best shop Ive ever seen. Theyre more than fair and uncommonly honest. My girlfriend has been bringing her car there for the past year (its had a few issues) and Elder always fixes it quickly and honestly. I think a few of their services are a little pricey (brake job = $200) but when you look at the overall value of the place, it really shines. Theyve fixed so many little things for free, refilled transmissions for no charge, given such honest advice... Im going to start taking my Jeep there too. They even towed her car back and forth to a specialty shop for a transmission issue and didnt charge her a dime. Ive never heard of a shop that does this sort of thing, and I have several more examples of how they treated her right. Heres another one... a few months after she had her ball joints replaced there, the transmission started to go... they confirmed it was on its way out, recommended against the pricey replacement on a car that old... and then replaced one of the ball joints AGAIN under warranty because "they didnt like the looks of it." In other words, they knew she was going to dump the car, but they took the time and knuckle-busting effort to replace the ball joint for free anyway, because they have that kind of integrity. In short: dont come here looking for charity, but you can certainly feel good about dropping your car off with them. They are MORE than fair and theres no shop I endorse more than Elder.

I am 20 years old and just got in my 1st EVER accident today. This is my story of how Ramon saved the day- It had been snowing all day which led to my accident; my bumper slid under my car and I thought it would have to be towed (which I so could not afford, seeing as I had been out of a job for about a month). I called my mom to tell her and very promptly I received a phone call from Ramon, he was so kind and asked me what had happened. After I explained and told him my bumper was totally torn off and stuck under my car (so I could not drive it that way) he left his business to come rescue me. He drove out to where I had crashed and removed the bumper from under my car and checked to make sure it was safe for me to drive it home so I wouldnt have to tow it. When he arrived he not only gave me a big hug, he worked in the cold AND snow without a jacket (only long sleeves) and told me to stay warm in the car! Such a gentlemen! He truly saved the day and saved me HUNDREDS of dollars I could not afford. Needless to say, he has earned me as a customer FOR LIFE. I will NEVER see another mechanic! Thank you Ramon! You made my awful day so much better!

I arrived early for my appointment after calling to confirm they could fit me in. Not only did I not get fit in early but an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment my car hadnt moved from where Id parked it. Frustrated, I politely asked for my keys back so I could reschedule for next week. The girl behind the counter asked me to wait for a moment and she would find the tech and get my keys. She returned shortly thereafter without my keys, didnt acknowledge me, and began working on her computer. Considering the possibility that she had notified the tech who would return my keys shortly I remained seated. When I saw the tech walk past me to inspect someones car who had just showed up my frustration escalated to anger. I once again returned to the counter and asked another woman for my keys. This time she did return with my keys and a very modest sorry in acknowledgment of my wasted time. Whether my lack of customer service was due to incompetence or discrimination I would never return to this establishment and have as such rated one star.

My dad owns a shop in the state I am from, so I am very unaccustomed to having to get work done at full price and from other people! I was given a bad diagnosis at another shop, and took my car here to get a second opinion, because the original diagnosis seemed unlikely. Not only did they do EXTENSIVE testing on the car to rule out the original bad diagnosis, but the found the actual problem, wrote an estimate, and did it all in a timely manner, even though we brought our car in during a busy week at the last minute on a Tuesday night. Ramon came out and talked to me personally, and also called me about my car. The shop and the service reminded me a lot of home! He did not try to sell me anything that I didnt need, and it is obvious that he is knowledgeable and spends the necessary time to fix a problem. I am so happy to have a place that I can bring my car to get an oil change, and any maintenance that it needs! We will definitely not take our cars anywhere else. He is great.
