McAdams tried to do $400 of unnecessary work when all that was required was 5 minutes to replace a $9 part. The Vacuum Breaker Assembly was leaking from the top of my outdoor anti-siphon yard faucet. I paid $40 to have a plumber from McAdams Plumbing come out and look at the problem. I turned on the faucet and showed him the water coming out of the anti-siphon valve on top of the faucet. He told me that the faucet had frozen and we needed to replace it. He said we needed to rip out the dry wall from our finished basement to gain access and that the job would cost $400, not including replacing the drywall which we would have to hire someone else to do. Later I did a quick google search on how to fix a leaking anti-siphon faucet and found out that its a 5 minute fix with a $9 part from Ace Hardware. It turns out that this is a common problem that any plumber would be familiar with. I bought the part and did the job myself in 5 minutes and everything works fine now. I just had to unscrew a lid with my hand and take out the old plastic part and drop in the new one. Its a common problem and the part is designed to be easily replaced. Anyone could do it. Im not pleased that McAdams came out and charged me $40 just to come out and then left me with the problem unfixed and told me to pay $400 more to have them fix it. It seems they either lied to me or are horribly incompetent.

McAdams Plumbing was the best call we could have made. We have been getting a strong and inexplicable sewage smell in our home. We have had the city and various plumbers here trying to figure out where it was coming from, but to no avail. Many of them were sure that we needed to cut into various walls and check multiple pipes to look for a leak. We decided to call one more plumber and were referred to McAdams Plumbing. The owner came (on-time) and for some inexplicable reason, the smell was not evident that morning. Despite not having a way to trace the smell, the owner kindly stayed and carefully analyzed my house (inside and out). He was determined to help me figure out how the sewage gases were leaking into my home. His determination and perseverance paid off. His expertise led him to discover a small hard to reach drain under one of our AC units with a dried out p-trap. He made a very cost-efficient proposal to keep the p-trap filled with water. The smell is gone and he truly restored our quality of life and saved us thousands of dollars that other plumbers were sure we needed to spend in order to locate the smell. I would highly recommend using McAdams plumbing and they will undoubtedly be the first call I make in the future. Thank you McAdams!!!

The flat-rate $812 bill seems expensive considering McAdams is in the same town as me and this was not an emergency call. I was going to replace an old toilet in the basement bathroom myself. After I removed it, I found the flange rusted, so I called McAdams. I was quoted that itd take a full days work so $800 sounded reasonable at the time but the actual service took a little less than 3 hours, of which about 45 minutes was a smoke/snack break waiting for the spray foam to cure. The materials used were a replacement flange which I looked up by the exact model# on the net and is listed for $36 at the manufacturers site, a can of spray foam, some toilet closet bolts and washers, and a wax toilet ring. A conservative estimate of the cost of materials would be $60. That means the cost of labor was around $250 per hour including paid break. I later received a thank you postcard in the mail. This was a nice gesture except they spelled my name wrong. I paid with a check so they could have verified the spelling.

The water line from my swamp cooler burst on a frigid Monday when my daughter was home and I was on way back from out of town causing a huge mess. I called McAdams after seeing them on Yelp. Not only was Chris, who answered, friendly, but he offered to walk my daughter through the process of turning off the water. The plumber came, fixed the issue, and left a written recommendation about what to do next. The next day, Chris called to check on things. He gave me excellent recommendations for a disaster restoration company to help dry out the wet surfaces. But the kicker was when I asked what he charged for the emergency service call (I had left my credit card info over the phone). He charged NOTHING. No service charge for Broomfield customers. I was astonished. Great service, kindness, and professionalism... and no service charge. I have been recommending McAdams to everyone! Thank you!

Over the last couple of years weve gotten into some sticky situations at home plumbing wise and by sticky I mean and wet. And gross. Rick and Jacqueline have always provided us with amazing service and we are so fortunate to be their customers! This time around it was our water heater. It went out suddenly last night and we were without hot water. Which is bad. Really bad. I was considering running away from home and my husband couldnt stop crying. Anyway we called McAdams plumbing and they got back to us right away, helped us to select a great water heater over the phone, and installed it all in one day. Now we dont have to handwash the dishes or shower at the gym! Yay! Thanks again for the outstanding service!

When I moved to California, I rented out my place in Broomfield. As usually happens, issues arose and I needed a plumber. McAdams Plumbing was wonderful. They worked with both me and my tenant to ensure that the issues was resolved on time - which means they had to coordinate schedules with him and estimates/payments with me. They did an amazing job! Because of their excellent service, I turned to them for a recommendation when my handyman went AWOL. They listened to the issues and recommended specialists for each (they wouldnt recommend unlicensed which was also greatly appreciated)! They are a wonderful and Id highly recommend them.

I cant say enough positive things about this company. Ive worked with them three times in the last year, on two different properties. They are always quick to respond, very courteous, and quite professional. The work they have done - repair a rusted-out drainpipe under concrete in the basement, clean out some clogged drain lines, and replace a gas water heater - has been done expertly and without a hitch. Chris R. and Mike both work quickly and very neatly, so no worries about "collateral damage" in the home! I also felt their pricing was very fair. If you need a good local plumber, this is the company to call!

I found McAdams on Angies list because I needed a reliable plumber quick, do to a mysterious leak in my basement. They had someone to our house inside a couple of hours and Rick, the plumber who came to my house, spent well over an hour looking for the the leak. Talk about thorough! He was a real "bulldog" checking every possible thing - sump, sprinklers, toilets, sinks, showers. The problem turned out to be a leak in the washer in the laundry room above the basement bathroom. The total cost for the time, and attention Rick spent? The basic service Charge. Quality service and a VERY reasonable price.
