I decided that I wanted to do business with Denver Mac Repair because of the glowing reviews that I read here. The Friday night before I was planning a trip to their 8th Avenue location, I emailed one of the reps, Sean, via the contact info on their website, regarding any Mac Pros that might be available for sale. Knowing how busy any shop can be on a Saturday morning, I didnt expect him to answer my email anytime soon that day. At around eleven am, I decided to call the shop. Sean himself answered the phone and after I told him what I was looking for, he immediately remembered seeing my email and told me that he hadnt had time to get to it that morning. I told him that was okay (and it was). The problem started with his general annoyance over the fact that I was asking some technical questions about a Mac Pro that they had for sale. He seemed quite sure that what I was asking about could not be done, when I knew this to be otherwise, based on my own research and experience with this particular computer. What was puzzling to me is that he didnt seem to be very knowledgeable about the subject. That or he just wanted to get back to talking about Macbooks and iPhones, which is, Im guessing, the bulk of Denver Mac Repairs customer base. So, he pretty much blew me off, telling me: "I have three other customers here– Ill do some research and call you back in half an hour". Despite the generally bad feeling that I had acquired over this four or five minute conversation, I was fine with the situation as we left it. The reason I decided to write this review is that Sean didnt call back in a half an hour. Sean never called back at all. The first rule in any business is: Stand by Your Word. If you say youre going to do something– do it, even if its a simple call back. BTW- Yes, at least one of the so called "Excellent" reviews on this site is disingenuous. This person-friend-family member, actually wrote ONE review and used it, word-for-word, for BOTH Mac Repair locations, she just swapped out "Denver" for "Boulder"!!

Im work in internet marketing. I understand the importance of good reviews and the potential of lost business due to bad ones. So I dont take giving them one star lightly. And I rarely ever write online reviews (maybe 3 or 4 my whole life) but felt one was warranted here. I visited the Denver store a few months ago because one of the keys on my MacBook Air kept falling off. I brought it in and the guy at the counter was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. When I showed him my computer he instantly told me "theres no way to just replace one key. The way they made the keyboard on this particular model makes it impossible. You have to replace the whole keyboard and itll be like $250." He said let me take a look though. Sounded promising. He came back and said "Its your lucky day. I just happened to have this little rubber piece you need. we never have them here for this model but you got lucky. Let me see if I can fix it." He was able to get the key back on. It was crooked but it basically worked. He charged me a $25 "desk fee." Fine. I was happy to have my keyboard working and thought Id found a reputable shop. The fix lasted for about a week and then the key fell off. Long story short, I told a friend about this and he said "beware, lots of these repair shops say you have to replace the whole keyboard but I had the same problem, ordered a new key from a website and it popped right back on. I found a site, ordered the key and little parts for $4.95. It took me literally 5 seconds to snap it on and now it works perfectly. If it was "impossible to fix the key without replacing the whole keyboard," how did the guy at least temporarily fix it the first time? And, more importantly, how did I, who is a mechanical idiot, fix it in 5 seconds for 5 bucks? The guy either lied or did not know what he was talking about. In either case, how can I trust them? I cant and I will never go back.

Looked up this place on my iPhone and called the number attached. The number calls their Boulder store. I talked to someone about RAM for a computer. He said they had it and quoted me a price for memory and a price if I wanted it installed. I told him I was in Denver and drop by their Denver store. I stopped by a bit later and was greeted by an employee who told me that...I cant just buy RAM from them ( I have to have it installed by them). She then asked WHO would have told me this? I told her it was the guy in Boulder and I had spoken to him about 15 minutes before. Some other guy in the shop (must work there, own it, who cares) then dismissed me by saying Boulder would never say that and I must have called some other Mac repair store, so I proceeded to tell the first person the phone number I called since the other guy walked away.... and guess what, it was their Boulder store. She then took my old RAM to the back. I thought maybe she was going to actually exhibit some customer service and look for RAM and let me buy it from her. Fat Chance!!! I think she went in the back and called the Boulder store.....I cant be sure, but about 3 minutes later she came back saying she didnt have it ANYWAY, but I could order it and then pay her to install it OR I could just order it and install it ---since I took it out to show her! Man, you think I would support a small business in my area because of the customer service they would provide instead of buying from the customer service-less internet. Guess I learned my lesson. If you want rude employees and be demeaned...hang out here. If you really need help - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Worst place ever, except if you are planning to donate your computer you can just drop it off at their store. I had an orange juice spill and some of the keys werent working and the once that were working were not displaying the right character. We drop the computer at the store and the person at the desk told us that things get much worse if you wait and that it will take 4 business days. I call the shop on the 3rd business day and they said that they havent started it, I called the next day and the answer was that they will start it the next day, which was Friday. On Tuesday the shop finally called us and told us that the computer is not powering and they need to replace the magsafe board and even after the that they need to replace something else for total of $570 + $180 for cleaning. We told them not to do it. Few days later the shop calls us and asks us if we want to sell them the computer for the balance that we own them currently $120 for the cleaning that didnt do anything. We said no. I went to pick up my computer and I ask them for some discount since it took them twice as long and my computer was in worst condition that when we left it there. They said that the time was just an estimate for how long it will take them to start working on the computer. To make the long story short I left the store pretty unset. When I got home I plugged in the computer and IT did power on. So please make the best choice for you but if you need to pay for something that didnt needed to be fixed maybe this shop is not the best place.
