While we love the [expensive] food at Little India (and it had quickly become our favorite restaurant in the area, visiting it 3 times in less than 2 weeks), we had a recent experience with blatant THEFT and attempted IDENTITY THEFT. A breakdown of events below: This evening (Labor Day 2014 between 4:45pm and 6:00pm), we ate at the Little India off of Downing and Wesley street, near the DU campus. Dinner was pleasant, though the waiter was a bit aloof. We paid and left. As we pulled into the driveway of our home we realized that we had forgotten my fiances phone at the restaurant, so we promptly turned around and drove back. We were told that no phone was not picked up off the table in the 15 minutes we were gone- they "did not have the phone." With this information we drove back home, called Sprint and accessed our GPS Family Locator (which you should certainly sign up for if you have not done so yet!), we were clearly notified the location (address included on the website) of the phone, which was the Little India restaurant. We returned BACK to the restaurant and notified staff members, including our waiter (whom seemed flustered by this) and a manager. They insisted that the phone was not on the premises but we stayed and insisted that GPS said it was. After about 20 minutes of this (and staff searching the restaurant), a staff member whom appeared to be in a management position (though I cannot confirm that), asked for the phone number of the missing phone so that he may call it and check the basement. Within in minutes he returned with our phone and asked, "Were you in the basement? With the coats?" For the record - NO we were not in some staff basement or cellar. Clearly, someone stole our phone. They apologized. We were polite enough to just say that it was okay and we left. ATTEMPTED IDENTITY THEFT?? - The facebook account was signed out of... our GPS was also signed out of while on the premises of Little India (probably trying to turn off the tracking once we returned??), and we had several failed Login attempts to email accounts and cloud. This is truly unfortunate. We loved this place and it was becoming our new date night. We have changed all of our information and will be watching our bank accounts (etc) for the next few months. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS and keep an eye on your phone AND your credit card information when paying at this restaurant. You never know. We are nervous because our credit card was run at a restaurant that clearly has a thief, or identity thief, on the premises. Police are being notified for the future, just in case anything does go wrong with our personal information. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN EATING OUT HERE. Identity theft has been rampant lately. We are very saddened by this experience.

My friend and I always wondered why we have not been to our neighborhood "Little India".... And now we now know why. We ordered the following in order. 2 Chi teas $3.00 *each "The Chai Tea was very vague and was not rich in flavor, tasted more like tea than Chai." Even store bought versions are better, way better. 1 Chicken Pakora $6.50 This was an extremely small portion even for an appetizer, I Shouldve known the entrees would be nothing different. It was alright and tasted more like burger king chicken fries without any seasoning a very light batter that had almost no texture. 1. Chicken Vindaloo $14.99 Now when we orderd this item our server was inclined to inform us this was an extreemly spicy dish. Just as stated in the menu, and they would like to offer us a side of rice. We accepted as this as it was what we were both looking for in an authentic spicy Indian cuisine. When this dish arrived we were less than pleased having Vindaloo at other establishments such as Royal India. This one was not spicy at all not even a little bit, more of a tomato flavor than anything. Not to mention it was served in a tiny metal bowl with about six squares total of chicken. 1 Chicken Tikka Masala $14.99 This dish was almost identical in taste if it was not for its orange like composition. I couldve mistaken this for the Vindaloo as it was almost more flavorful. Same small bowl and mildly warm temperature. 1 Garlic naan $2.50 The only appropriately priced item for its portion. Still this was not hot nor was it providing any robust flavor or texture. All in all the total was $53, how? I did not care to dispute. At this point we were ready to pay what felt like a ransom note than a check and leave. Now I feel it appropriate to say I have never written a review or would I describe myself as somebody who was particularity picky. Being in my mid twentys and having such strong opinions to voice, I feel a great amount of concern to alert others of this atrocity of a product this establishment provides. All employees were extremely welcoming and polite nothing to complain about there.

I am really surprised to see all the over-rated stars! Are these really genuine reviews? First off, you have too tall tables for the size of the chairs (or too short chairs for the size of the tables!). I am a 5’8” male, and literally, the table was too tall for me. I can’t imagine how short people or people with shorter trunk would be eating on your tables. Quality of the food - pretty poor; I can follow the Indian recipes online (I am not a good cook) and can come up with much tastier chicken curry. I could very clearly smell and taste burned (and bitter) chicken curry that you had to offer. I was not pleased with the quality (freshness) of the rice either. Other vegetables were not that fancy either, yet strong enough to give me bad heartburn though. Naan was OK, and thanks for serving it fresh, on the fly. Waiter (young gentleman) was not bad with greeting and welcoming, but when I went to check out to the cashier (not sure if she was the owner - or owners daughter, or some spoiled employee), I was approached with bad attitude of her. She knows what I am talking! I really regretted for my $4.00 worth tip over a $9.00 worth ticket after leaving the restaurant I don’t think you guys deserved even a dollar, with the quality of the food and service you offered me. Anyways, please change your attitude and don’t burn the chicken (or the spices) too much, maybe, I can return with friends/families/ work colleagues. Else, good luck with innocent and ignorant customers that you have!

Can I give less than one star? Terrible service. I ordered the Tomato soup and Dal soup and, because both my boyfriend and I are sick, we ordered delivery. I automatically put in the usual 20% tip because I am a server and I under stand that this person not only had to drive me my order but had to drive in the snow. The driver arrives around the time the order was supposed to arrive and proceeded to call me. He said he was here and to come get my food. I asked why he couldnt bring it to my door and he said it was because he was busy. I said he would have to wait for me to put on my coat and shoes and walk down and that he could save time and bring me it up. He then began to be rude and said "just come get your food or I will leave." I called the store to ask for them to take my tip off the order and the manager was rude to me as well saying the tip was added onto the order when I placed it and would not be refunded. Im sorry, but as I priorly stated I am a server and I know exactly how it works so I know you can refund my tip. To top it all off the soup was cold and the rice was undercooked. I live exactly 1.9 miles from the resturant and even if the driver had multiple stops on the way, there is no way my soup should have been cold. As for the rice, that was due to a bad chef. Disgusting. I can only image how terrible the service at the actual restaurant is.
