I felt there was preferential treatment shown to customer’s based of their sex and race during my experience today. On 12/28/2016, I was waiting to send a package that needed tape across the top, because I was under the impression that contents needed to be inspected prior to shipping. A white woman went before me, and the staff helped tape the top of her package with tape the staff provided. I went to Post Office employee Steve, who told me I needed to purchase tape to close the top of my package in order for it to ship. With what I had seen, I thanked Steve and left frustrated without making a purchase and went to the UPS store in Trumbull. It felt like the staff went to work to bully customers as I watched a number of customers leave the Monroe US Post Office without making a purchase due to pricing issues that the customers were not happy with while attempting to send packages. Out of 5 customers waiting in line, only one made a purchase. Im going to guess the office is under new management based off of being a customer at that site for 3 years.

The staff are incredibly rude to customers. Have lots of attitude and treat people with disrespect. When I asked to pick up a package, they told me (with attitude) that they werent going to take the package out of the truck so "too bad, youll have to wait." Happened again today, except in person - not on the phone. They are terrible individuals and honestly shouldnt be working there if on multiple occasions they have treated customers poorly. These reviews are proof yet nothing is done about it still!!!

Been living at my address 13 years I still get everyones mail ! Ive asked repeatedly for it to be resolved I have yet to get a response! Also with regards to the snow our mailman drove by me and did not stop to give me my mail because our mailbox was too far from the road because of the snow! This mail person has known me for 13years Ive yet to receive 2 days of my mail and the post office did not have it !

I love this post office - without exception theyve been accommodating and helpful, and theyre open until 6pm every weekday, to boot.
